The location
Chaotic breakfast, sometimes no cups, food ran out and wasn't replaced immediately.
Bathroom had lots of hairs, toilet seat broken, smell of mould. Water leaking from shower into the floor, hence the smell of mould. Not enough towels.
Very low pressure water which made it difficult to wash hair.
We were informed on arrival of the events scheduled for the weekend, a prom, a wedding and a party. Couldn't leave windows open.
Fire alarm test at 8am!!

Very good value in a great location near to charming pubs and restaurants
Room is cramped. Bathroom bulb didn't work. Member of staff let themselves into the room.

Room is small but had all the essentials (iron, hair dryer etc). Breakfast was good- full english and cereal and fruit available. Small gym and also pool table to play in the evenings. Nice grounds to walk around in. Great location for walks around Cookham, along the Thames and also great for visiting Clivedon House.
mattress not very comfortable. Ok to manage for 1 night but beyond that its a bit difficult. Rooms are very small so can get quite warm in the summer. There is a small fan provided however.
Lastly, they do have a lot of events at the centre, we stayed for 3 nights and 1 night they had a high school prom and the next night they had a wedding reception with music playing until midnight. The hotel did send us an email warning us of the first event, but this was only 2 days prior to us coming and it was unrefundable by this point.

A lovely old house with modern accommodation block, restaurant, bar, and gym. All situated around a central green. Easy reach of facilities in the village.
Nothing.

The price of the room which was on the small side but comfortable. The outside area of the hotel was very nice to look at. Checking in and out was smooth and the staff were lovely and helpful.
The bathroom floor wasn't cleaned properly, along with the shelf and the shower. The breakfast was very bland, the tables in the restaurant were far too big with the option of having strangers to come and sit next to you when there were only 2 of us. Although the WiFi password was shown at reception we didn't see this on the way in, it would be useful to also display the password in the rooms or on the room key cards.

Breakfast was poor . Admittedly we were late risers but the hot breakfast was little more than luke warm and cereals had not been refilled and coffee was not nice .
Our door lock on our room was faulty and after our first night milk and tea were not replenished . Basically the room was equipped for one person and we had to ask for towels as they had only been provided for one .

The cost and location
Firstly, it doesn't feel like a hotel at all, more like a camp. I got into my room and felt dated. The bed was so close to the bathroom door, like annoyingly, and once you were in the bathroom, the discoloured ceiling was not great to look at.
While trying to sleep, the hallway light was coming through the door. Even as the light seemed on a sensor, it was very easily triggered and really bright. So not a good sleep at all.
Next, when having breakfast, the food was good but interrupted by the toaster machine screeching. I couldn't even enjoy the food while having that down my ear.
Lastly, I went back to my room to pack up, and while in the room, cleaners unlocked it, thinking it was vacant. Do you not check if someone has checked out before trying to dismantle the room?
Wouldn't recommend, to anyone.

Beautiful building in lovely surroundings, close to village pub, plenty parking.
I prefer a conventional shower to a rainfall shower.

Location was good. Grounds relaxing. Facilities good
Rooms a little small. Partly due to this rooms we're stuffy and got a little hot and humid.

Informed 2 days before arrival that there was a wedding event on Saturday which closed the bar and restaurant. On arrival on Friday evening despite very low occupancy of the accommodation we were allocated a room which turned out to be one of the closest to the function room. As a result on Saturday evening we could not get to sleep until after 1 am due to the noise. Have complained to the duty manager before leaving and subsequently called and emailed but nobody is prepared to talk to us and offer even an apology let alone a refund. Disgusting customer service

Room was too small and crowded.

Good breakfast
Our room was close to the outdoor chess set and the restaurant where a party was on. The noise from the party kept us awake until it finished at midnight but then people were making a lot of noise playing chess until about 3am. It would be sensible to put people attending parties to be near the restaurant and chess set so that they do not disturb other residents.

The green surroundings are quite pleasant.
The room was uncomfortably hot, particularly in the late evening and overnight.
There was debris on the floor beside the bed, sweets, wrappers, etc. that hadn’t been cleaned.
There was no information on where to get breakfast or the hotels other facilities.

It was good for a one night stay and breakfast. I slept well so the bed must’ve been comfy :)
Every member of staff I met was so friendly and helpful! The breakfast was good.
Too much dust on furniture, curtains and on headboard.. and cobwebs above the window inside my bedroom were off putting..

The staff were extremely friendly a special mention to Manuel in the restaurant. He gave us excellent customer service and was so friendly it made our visit so much more enjoyable.
It was advertised as free bacon butties etc after the Let’s Rock Concert but the food ran out.

Room was tiny, and dusty. A fan was provided but very noisy. Breakfast was terrible, we arrived with 20 minutes before it finished but most things were depleted and weren't being replenished. The juice was mildly flavoured water and the only fruit was a bag of frozen berries that had been defrosted.
My chair also fell through the grate on the floor when I sat down.
Staff were loudly playing their own music in the next room, other than overhearing this, there was no ambience.

Location fine. It was a conference hotel first and foremost. Weekends were quieter so rooms were available. The rooms were small but adequate for overnight stays. Staff were very helpful. Set in village location plenty of places to eat in the evenings. Bar closed early evening but good pub across the road. Plenty of on site parking. Walk in shower. Buses to Maidenhead every hour. Outside area large terrace and lawn, plenty of seating.
Size of room, although we knew we had a small double it could have been a fraction wider.

very clean, great location
only negative was that the cooked breakfast wasn’t very hot

lovely location, good facilities, plenty of parking, easy to find. I loved the large shower cubicle and massive shower head! we loved sitting outside in the beautiful garden and the fact that tea, coffee, hot chocolate and biscuits are free for guests. There was also a chilled water dispenser which was a bonus in the heat!
The room was very small, no glasses to put a drink in, bathroom extractor switch was on the ceiling (luckily my partner could reach it!) and the room was absolutely sweltering with only a very small fan available. I felt it was better suited to a single traveller rather than a couple. The day before we arrived we had an message to say there was no lunch or evening meal available during our stay which was extremely disappointing.
