A surprisingly relaxing and comfortable stay in a very traditional German pension.

I opted for this hotel instead of another more modern hotel as the location near the Alster lake was excellent. I'm glad I did as the traditional nature of the pension (on the 2nd floor) made a change from the usual corporate hotel. Check in was flexible with our flight being delayed and ur key was made available for us. We even were given a late check out. Facilities are very dated but it is clean, quiet and everything we needed for being out and about. So close to u-bahn station which connects really well with the airport.

Information about getting breakfast, although there are so many coffee shops nearby.

A great option for a budget traveler

I wasn't expecting much, considering the price, but I was pleasantly surprised! Yup, the single room was basic, but everything was clean, bed was comfortable, shower pressure was great, the room was warm. I enjoyed the old and beautiful staircase as well. Check-in was smooth, location is truly great - just a short walk from the center and very quiet, with lots of restaurants nearby.

Clean and comfortable

The location was great, easy to get to and plenty of dining options. Although the decor is dated, it was clean and comfortable which is more important to me

The bathroom is a little awkward, a smaller sink would make it more user friendly

Promises, promises

Ok price, ok cleanliness.

I got 1 bag of shampoo/soap and no toothpaste/toothbrush. This would have been fine since I would have bought all that myself (as i did with the toothpaste). But last night when the shampoo/soap ran out, it wasn't replaced as they promised -- and of course everything was closed already.

Overall, pretty good for a few night stay.

The location is perfect, right in the city center. Staff on reception was really helpful and lovely. The building is old but it gives off cool vibes

Cleaning staff knocked the door and after a second opened it by himself not waiting for my response, it leaded to an awkward situation lol. The bathroom didn't feel clean. It is really loud outside in the mornings if the window is left opened for a night

Wonderful staff, very comfortable, good value

Friendly and helpful staff - there was an issue upon Check in (my fault) and the staff did above and beyond and saved the trip! Room very clean and comfortable, good heating and a good amount of space for the price.

Water takes a little while to heat up.

Super central old school flair

The staff was friendly and the location is really really central.

The interior is not modern at all, but maybe that is the flair that place likes to keep like that on purpose. It's hard to find a parking spot in that area, but that's the price you pay when you want to stay so central.

Good location - calm at night - good heater.

I arrived late and got support to get the keys securely and safe. The owner was nice and friendly. Good location - safe and closed to shopping and dining. Good performance heater. Nice and clean room. Comfortable bed and duvets. Many power sockets available. A wardrobe with some cloth hangers. A table with lamp. Guests can turn on the bright cieling lamp or warm light bead head lamps. Big windows with partially-open function. Elevator available.

Location, clean sheets, cleaning service every day,

I had private bathroom located outside my room. A bit uncomfortable to run through corridor from the room to the bathroom. But in general all is fine
