It was functional but sadly I think I’d choose a Premier Inn next time.

Breakfast was good but lacking atmosphere & soul in the dining room.

Zero facilities, room dated, pillows too soft, bed uncomfortable.

Nice hotel with pleasant staff. Good for overnight stays.

Had to eat in the hotel as nowhere within walking distance to eat. Food was good standard. Breakfast was ok. Not had a cooked breakfast for a while but we’re disappointed as bacon was a little fatty and sausage was not very warm. Service was very good.

The staff could not be more helpful, with a great welcome and nothing was too much trouble. Lovely bright, clean room and bathroom. Had a fabulous evening meal there and a great breakfast in the morning. It is a beautiful old house with great features and character. Its only fault is, there is no lift. I was on the second floor with quite a bit of work stuff and two cases so it could of been a challenge but staff to the rescue, a young staff member offered to help me upstairs with my luggage.

Not a question of not liking anything, just would have appreciated a lift to the upper floor

Potential to be great with a few tweaks and unstanding customers better.

On the whole the staff were very friendly and engaging, check in and out was exceptional. The food was very good and reasonably priced.

Sadly a large white van reversed onto the patio outside our room and parked lieterally 12" across our window and noisily started loading up at 11PM at night. Totally unaccebtable. When I rang reception I was told they are loading things from the wedding exhibition and won't be long !!! Sorry, thats not good enough. No apology or mention of it the next morning sadly left a bad taste in what should have been a great little stay.

A very nice hotel to stay in on our wedding night with very helpful staff.

The breakfast was delicious and made gluten free for myself, it was fresh and tasted amazing. The staff stayed up really late to welcome us after our wedding and were very friendly. The bed was so comfortable and the shower was spacious.

Last minute booking for work trip

Walls are paper thin and floors extremely creaky so could hear everything in the adjoining rooms. No hot water when we arrived although it was late at night. Breakfast ok, cold mushrooms and burnt toast.

Very expensive for quality and facilities.

Food pretty poor , meal for party night - v poor ,smoked salmon tasted like coleslaw with a few bits of salmon in it, main meal fish and veg very bland as if had been steamed together then served onto the plate. Breakfast both food and service poor, had to ask for a glass for the juice ,but then jug empty so ask for juice, ask for toast ,then a plate to put it on, eggs like bullets nothing freshly cooked, no choice for continental just 1 piece of cake, bacon pale andstaff clearing stuff away when people still coming in

Great service, great building and good value for money.

Well presented property and friendly staff.

These two minor points by no means negatively impacted on my trip. 1. No still bottled water in room. 2. The disposable serviettes used at breakfast let down an otherwise fabulous table lay.

Underwhelming

The hotel is ok, warm and reasonably comfortable.

This hotel was crowded and noisy as there was a wedding reception going on during the weekend of our stay. I am assuming that this is a wedding venue and therefore it may be advisable to check when booking, to see if there are any events going on at the weekend. The room we were allocated was up two flights of stairs in an attic. It was ok but we could still hear the thud thud of music until about 11pm. The bathroom had mould in some of the grouting of the tiles, which was a little off putting. The location is within an industrial estate which may not be to everyone's taste. I would not stay in this hotel again.
