Sewer smell in pink room. Not too bad though

The Spa bath was brilliant. The restaurant offered the best food iv eaten in as long as I can remember both for the included breakfast and for an evening meal on the night we arrived. The bed was extremely comfy, sometimes on hotels the mattresses can be hard and cause more harm than good. This mattress was perfect.
Stated greeted with tea and scones on booking this didn't happen and would have been a nice touch.
The building is obviously old, creaky looks old fashioned but it has character and the newspaper with details and facts of the building was a great idea and helpful. Some of the floor boards are a little uneven/creaky

Really helpful Staff, gorgeous location, peaceful and with an excellent breakfast. And the restaurant looked great - just wish we’d had time to sample dinner there. But the afternoon tea and supper was lovely.
Our room was a higher rated room which I guess is because of the front facing window but it was similar to the other rooms I booked so I wasnt quite sure why it was a bit more expensive, and it did seem smaller. But this wasn’t a big concern at all. All three rooms we booked were excellent standard with lovely views. Would definitely return.

a beautiful location surrounded by countryside. a good sized room and a nice bathroom.
our room was upstairs overlooking the front patio where a very giggly lady guest decided to sit until late keeping my husband awake. the doorway into the bathroom is not suitable for anyone over 6ft, my husband hit his head on the doorway and I had to stick a sock to the door frame hanging down to remind him. the carpet in our room was quite stained and overall, whist it is supposedly completely dog friendly, it didn’t feel like it.

Warmth of welcome and continued helpful support and service from friendly staff interested to ensure comfort and enjoyment during my stay. Fabulous evening meal of high standard cuisine. Great breakfast well prepared. A beautiful Georgian styled extended old rectory set in a secluded position beside woodland along a quiet lane away from minor roads. A quiet, relaxing, rural location with local views of trees, fields and hills. Excellently attended mature gardens creatively designed with well maintained paths safely negotiated. Seating dotted about in hidden places providing many places to sit and relax quietly. Provision to watch resident bird life attracted purposefully easily viewed from covered seating areas with soft seating and blankets to cover legs should the evening be cooler than expected. The desire to return again and maybe soon.

The staff and owners are brilliant. Steve in the bar manager in particular was extremely personable. We are going back to the area and we'll be staying again.

Everything! A special mention to Wendy for her hospitality during our visit. Nothing was any trouble and she always had a smile on her face.
A dog friendly place which is an added bonus for us.
Complimentary tea and scone on arrival was a nice touch, as well as milk and brownies available too.
Breakfast was 10/10 and the best we’ve ever had anywhere! We purchased the homemade marmalade which was absolutely delicious.
Everything was perfect during our stay.
Will definitely be back!

Location, cleanliness, the staff and owner Tommy was an excellent host and made us feel welcome.
Sitting and eating with our dog by the front door / bar area/ reception area.
We appreciate that dogs are not allowed in the restaurant areas for obvious health and hygiene protocols, however the seating area by the front door could be moved into the lounge opposite to provide some comfort from sitting bolt upright whilst eating our food.

Lovely area and the building and garden were pretty. The staff were reasonably friendly. The meal was quite good but a bit disorganised.
Asked for a quiet room but were placed on the ground floor next to reception, the outdoor seating area and the restaurant/bar. The room was very small and only a shower. Very expensive for what you get. Cost of the room and the set 4 course meal came to £380 which is a lot for one night away.

We were amazed with the exceptionally high levels of customer care and attention. The food is of a very very high standard. Room was impeccably clean and welcoming. Fellow guests were a joy to chat and socialise with.
