I had an amazing experience at this property! The location is fantastic, very peaceful and quiet. The space was spotlessly clean, beautifully furnished, and equipped with everything I needed for a comfortable stay. The host Sally was incredibly helpful and responsive, ensuring I felt welcome and well taken care of. The outdoor area spaces were well-maintained and perfect for relaxing. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again or recommend it to others.
Just the BBQ grill needs attention

Location was amazing. Lots of room, comfortable beds and great social space

In a super location, felt as if we were staying in the mountains! Very accessible for local destinations.
The dishwasher wasn't working, and the bottle of wine left as compensation did not make up for it! The property could be better equipped, e.g. there were not enough chairs around the table for the number of people the property could accommodate. The vacuum cleaner was too dirty to use.

What a superb house in an amazing location. We were a family of 2 adults and 5 kids and we all loved it ! Kids happy so adults happy. Within 45 mins of a handful of great places to visit and amazing beaches such as Porthmadog … If you have a moan about this house (oooh there isn’t a welcome pack … go to Aldi before you set off like we did it’s not rocket science …) then your not used to holiday let’s !!! Book this you won’t be disappointed !!!!
The toilet cistern has a constant drip and needs replacing … lol only a slight issue ! ….

Great cottage for new years eve with the family and out dogs. Beautiful location and stunning views. The property itself is warm, welcoming and cosy. Secured area outside for the dogs to play and great space inside for the family.
Lots of beautiful walks around the property and a fab country pub just down the hill that served tasty food. We would like to return in the summer with the family
The only issue we had was that the bins outside hadn't been emptied since the last guests had stayed but this was down to the time of year I guess between Xmas and New Year

The property is set in a beautiful location - visitors be mindful that this is set in a very steep road and you’ll need to careful when driving in and out of the courtyard - it’ll take a bit of navigating.
The cottage is very spacious and was perfect for our party of 6.
All rooms were large and clean with towels provided.
The kitchen had lots of glasses, mugs and plates etc but not many pans and no serving dishes so bring those with you if you are looking to serve up on a “help yourself” basis.
The owners are getting responsive to messages and happy to accommodate you if you ask.
The cottage is lovely and warm especially at night so if you need the heating on, it wouldn’t be needed for long.
Beds are large and comfy although the mattress could probably do with updating a little.
There are games, tv, music and a karaoke machine for entertainment.
Wi-Fi connection is good.
Mt Snowdon is just half and hour away with a lovely scenic drive. After a long day of climbing, it was great to come back to the cottage to relax and feel at home.
* I do agree with past guest reviews that a welcome pack really would benefit visitors. Whilst there is a large Tesco superstore 20 minutes away, it was originally planned to stop off and do a good shop for the weekend before going to the cottage but after checking reviews, we decided to go to the cottage first, unload then review what was needed so we didn’t find ourselves going back and forth if we needed essentials.
We needed to buy EVERYTHING. Including toilet rolls, milk, teabags and even washing up liquid. A simple essentials basket would have been really appreciated and would go down a treat especially for guests arriving late at night so they can have a cuppa and snack after a potentially long journey to the cottage. For us, after travelling almost 4 hours, it would have been amazing.
* We were really excited to have a BBQ on the first night for my birthday celebrations but when we lifted the BBQ lid, it hadn’t been cleaned and was full of dirty tissues, mouldy food etc - we cleaned a lot of it but then gave up as we were on a break away and it wasn’t our mess to clean.
* The fridge is quite small so don’t bring a great deal of chilled food as there is very little space.
* The property is beautiful but the decor itself is very basic, it would be lovely to see it at its full potential.
* The cottage hosted 6 of us but only one shower in the property which wasn’t a power shower.

A wonderful, comfortable house with lovely character! We had 6 adults with 4 children and 1 dog, and there was plenty of room.
The living room was large enough for us all to enjoy games, as well as the kitchen once the little ones had gone to bed!
Bedrooms were large with very comfortable beds... we all loved hearing the river when we had the windows open!
All in all, it was a great place to stay with lots of things to do just a short drive away! We'd love to come back here again!
Thanks Sally!

Fabulous location, fabulous cottage. It is huge and really comfortable. Lots of space for a big family and some lovely homely touches. We were very grateful for a welcome basket of goodies to greet us after a long drive. Really clean and comfortable. Great communication from the hosts to help with any questions we had.
Everything was lovely, no complaints

Beautiful, quiet location with a safe area beyond the front gates where the little ones are kept well away from the road .
The road to the property has little traffic, we walked with the little ones down the hill to a decent pub in the village at the bottom of the hill.
The property is secure and there’s easily room for 3 or 4 normal sized cars.
There’s also a pub up the hill The Bryn Arms we ate at both places and think the Grapes hotel down the hill was best .
There’s nothing to dislike about the property.
It’s pretty much on its own with only one other property that can be seen through the trees on the other side of the road, you won’t see anymore properties unless you walk a few hundred yards down the hill.

We used the Hilltop Cottage as a base for walking and was nice and easy to find. The kitchen / dinner and lounge were plenty big enough for us 6 guys and had everything we needed, including decent wifi. Massive bedrooms, and a really decent shower after a day of walking.
The beds were comfy enough, however new mattresses wouldn’t go a miss.

Great location for lots of days out.
Secure and safe enough to let the kids and dogs all play outside.
Plenty of room for everyone- we had 6 adults and 4 kids and we all sat on the sofa together!
Plenty of games left in the property that we enjoyed.

Excellent location/Size of property was was perfect for number of guests.
Lounge and dining area really good size for entertaining and having nights in after busy days out sightseeing.
Would have liked a few more essentials to start us of, maybe a starter pack, washing up liquid/Dishwasher tablets E.C.T.

Please be aware the host did not return our deposit after accusing ourselves of leaving the house untidy which was not true, host may be using this to scam people.

The house was just right for our needs and we were able to visit a different place of interest each day.
The oven needed cleaning before we used it.

Property is large with a lot of space. Beds are large and comfortable. Bath and showers are good. Kitchen is small but well equipped. Living room is large and really comfortable. Karaoke machine was really fun. Fireplace was lovely. Location is fantastic for a lot of activities like Snowdon or the adventure parc.
Previous occupants had turned the heating up which we didn't notice until it was a sauna. Easy enough to turn down the radiators we just hadn't noticed. Had to clean a few bits of the kitchen up that had been missed but otherwise cleanliness was fine

Cozy, clean and well equipped home away from home.
Thank you Sally for her prompt response in fixing the problems of bathtub hot water tap and the flush in toilet. Very responsible host.
Perfect if prepared with welcome bathroom rolls and kitchen towel.

Sally was superb with all the information about keys and directions for a smooth check in . The property was ready for us when we arrived and meet all our expectations.
Maybe having stair gates would be a plus when travelling with little ones.

The cottage was amazing. Very spacious, clean and with all the facilities.
The area is quiet and beautiful and not far away by car from shops and amazing areas from Snowdonia.
The beds could be more comfortable as the mattress of most of them were little bit old and not best bed to sleep.

the cottage was located in a very peaceful location with wonderful views. The house was comfortable and very spacious. We had an issue with getting the heating to work but the owner was very quick to respond and rectified the issue early the following morning.
The lounge is very spacious and ideal for a large group playing one of the numerous board games that were available.
We had a fantastic stay . The location of the cottage is ideal for exploring The stunning scenery.
Many thanks
It’s a must that you arrive with a supply of ‘necessities’ to keep you going until you can visit the supermarket.

We were on vacation with friends. We really liked the location of the house, quiet and peaceful, great place with all amenities. There are many very beautiful places, shops, and entertainment nearby.
But the house was very dirty, a lot of dust, some unwashed dishes (we had to wash all the dishes before use), it seemed to us that no one had changed the bed after the previous visitors!!! Someone left an unfinished cup of coffee in the kitchen! It was also very cold in the house, the shower did not work on the second floor, so all six of us had to use one bathroom, and even there there was not always hot water in the shower. Very, very bad Internet, you can say its complete absence! For four days we were almost without communication. I would advise homeowners to call a cleaning company after every visitor.

The location of the house was away from the rest of the village so it was nice and quiet. it was spacious and well laid out. The living room was very comfy and the beds were also. There was a note mentioning the water heater being noisy and how to turn this off for light sleepers but we found this to be no issue at all. the house was beautifully decorated and well maintained with clear instructions in a booklet. the owners were in contact during our stay and pleasant and helpful throughout. we would happily return for another holiday to Hilltop Cottage.
kitchen units could have been a little bit cleaner but probably just me being fussy. it was a beautiful home from home.

- Fantastic location in proximity to plenty of sites and walks.
- Private amongst trees with no immediate neighbours. You really do feel like you have the place all to yourself!
- Very quiet. It's next to the road but cars rarely go past.
- Thoughtful little additions like a karaoke machine, beanbags, board games etc. The decor and artwork was also very charming and homely.
- Sound travels very easily internally through the floors, so bedrooms didn't feel very private.
- One bathroom was very new and had an electric shower. The other (ensuite) was a little aged but didn't have warm water and poor water pressure, so all 7 of us ended up using the one electric shower - which was pretty inconvenient!
