Hotel particolare con molte memorie e cimeli storici della battaglia di Cassino.
Stanze in stile anni 40, colazione ottima.
Alcuni dettagli come la verniciatura di infissi o dell'ascensore o il cortile interno andrebbero migliorati o restaurati.

This property was a last minute booking, as another was logistically further out in the countryside with very little transport. A local I met on the train helped my family from the train station. What we found was a a treasure of history it’s location. The hotel was built by the late father who served in the war effort of capturing mount Cassino 1944. La pace is peace in Italian. The hotel holds a lot of memorabilia from the time. The hotel is frequented by family members who relatives served and perhaps died fighting for mount cassino and the st Benedict’s monastery at the top of the mount. Personal ledgers and written logs with pictures and family history are in the hotel, from various countries around the world. A unique time capsule with walking or bus tours to the rebuilt monastery. There are lots of local shops cafes and eateries, it’s surrounded by the Italian mountains in the countryside, very relaxed and locals with the help of Google translate were very kind and friendly, la pace is an Italian word I adore and is unique in its pronunciation, great rooms, breakfast is a Italian countryside buffet of various delights, a history buffs dream location and stay for knowledge and culture.

The extraordinary knowledge, passion and helpfulness of Pino Valente, the hotel manager, an amateur historian and WW2 enthusiast with all sorts of useful contacts and connections.
Breakfast fare was a little dull - it would have been nice to have a bit more fruit.

Very helpful....knowledgable about WW2 and helpful in telling us more about it in the area

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at La Pace and would highly recommend it. The hotel is equipped with modern amenities including an elevator and bathroom fixtures. The breakfast was great including eggs, meat, cheese, yogurt and a wide variety of pastries and fruits/juices. Cappuccino and other coffees were brought to the table each morning.
The best part of the visit; however, was the wine-and-cheese/pizza presentation of the Battle of Monte Cassino, and owner Pino's personal stories on the impact of the war. His family was hiding in the Benedictine Abbey during the bombing. His passion is to present interesting information and perspectives on the WW2 battle to the current generation. He speaks English well and his staff is very welcoming and helpful. Our visit to La Pace turned out to be the most interesting stop on our Italian vacation.

If you're visiting Cassino to explore the battle of Monte Cassino, then this is the very best place to stay. There's lots of memorabilia and books in the hotel to look at, plus Pino, the owner can organize a tailored tour.
Loved the breakfast!

Very friendly staff and in interesting WWII mini-museum in the lobby. there was a great view of the Abbey of Montecassino from our room.

The breakfast was good.
The location is great, we could see the monastery and the tower from the bedroom.
The room had a good size and was clean.
Our room was facing a very busy street even during the night so it was rather noisy.
There were 2 connection doors to the next rooms. One on each sides so we could well hear the neighbors arriving late in the evening ...
The aircon was old and it took a while until it made any difference in a room that was as hot as a furnace when we arrived.
Weird see-through glass bricks between the shower area in the bathroom and the bedroom - to note that this was a room with 3 beds.

The hotel is very well positioned with a fine view of the monastery. Like most of the property in Cassino it was constructed in the mid 1950’s so is beginning to show its age, that said it was perfectly serviceable and certainly my room ( 10) was most acceptable. The proprietor is the principal asset to the hotel , he is an easygoing and genial host to whom nothing is too much trouble. on the first night that we stayed he organised buffet with wine etc , after he gave us a talk about the war the town , and his family experience’s . The next day he offered to take us on a conducted tour of the town showing us all the importance landmarks with connections to the last war . Every day he arranged different trips which he accompanied us on to various battlefields etc . It must be said that with
out his knowledge, and guidance our four day visit would not have been so interesting.

The host is an exceptional curator of the history of the Battle for Monte Casino. He has complied videos about the battle and shares his knowledge freely.
He runs a fine hotel and drove us to the bus for the last tour of the Abbey as we were too short of time to walk.
Breakfast buffet was very good value. We highly recommend this hotel.
