Fantastic views, swim to your hearts content pool or sea. Casual and relaxed atmosphere

Pool and swimming from the rock platform. Friendly atmosphere,stunning views. 15 minutes walk to Marina Corte and 20 to the main shopping and restaurant area

Hairdryer still the same wall attached that I used thirty yrs ago. I didn’t realise I could be picked up from the ferry . That needs to be clearer

Would heartily recommend staying here

Loved the facilities and the private access to the sea and pool were great. The staff were very helpful.

Incredible location, brilliant late 60"s style hotel overlooking the water.

Going car access via security gates was not easy Staff say "NO PRIBLEM" but then fail to answer buzzer and you wait until another vehicle exits.

Breakfast is chaos pure. Groups every morning eating early and leaving a complete mess in the restaurant. Staff in the restaurant need training.

Exceptional

We stayed at the hotel for 4 nights, everything was excellent. The room has a breathtaking view from the balcony. The staff cleaned and changed the towels every day. Breakfast was so good with a lot of options. The bonus was an amazing view from our terrace. Good sized pool with sea water. The road to the center of Lipari took us about 8 minutes. Definitely we come back.

They should have informed us there was a shuttle from the port to the hotel included in the price. 3 euro to use a towel in the pool, it would be a nice touch to have that included. Bathrooms are a bit old.

The best place on the island.

This was our second time staying at Carasco and it was as wonderful as - if not better than, the first. The staff - especially the restaurant and bar pool, are so lovely. Super friendly and helpful. They bring a wonderful energy to the place. It was also lovely to meet resident Hermione again - she is so welcoming and helpful. The hotel grounds are beautiful. We had the most amazing views from our room - which was kept super clean. The private access to the sea is so dreamy. The food in the restaurant is lovely - especially the spaghetti with clams. I cannot imagine we’d ever want to stay anywhere else on Lipari.

A couple of members staff at the desk are quite mardy - do not smile or make you feel very welcoming. But just two - everyone else is lovely.

A grossly overpriced stay in a sad hotel

The only really positive thing one can say about this hotel is that it is beautifully located. Built in 1971, it was once clearly very glamorous, and the hotel itself was inserted into the mountainside, at the far end of Lipari town (NB it is a mile's walk into the centre of the town. However, Marina Corta, which is nicer that Lipari town, is only about 10 minutes walk away)

In recent years this hotel has obviously gone to the dogs. The pool is falling apart; the common parts are shabby and neglected; huge areas like the ballroom look abandoned; the swimming pool is falling apart; the terraces are broken and covered in weeds. The staff are a mixed bag, but showing signs of demoralisation. The breakfast staff are charming, the rest indifferent. The hotel is clearly grossly understaffed, and the old bars are unserviced and shut. There is talk of refurbishment, but this hotel needs millions spent on it to restore it to its former glory. Our stay was massively overpriced: we expected a four star hotel - but, really, this hotel, in its current state, would struggle to get two stars.

We enjoyed our stay and will likely return.

Located in walking distance to the Main Street and restaurants. Pool was OK but in need of repairs. It was always easy to get a sun-bed at the pool. The pool staff was very helpful. Easy access to the sea using a private staircase.

The rooms - though adequate - were in need of a touch-up. Breakfast was OK but not great (less sweat pastries and more fresh options).

Old Hotel with an amazing view and a beautiful private beach

Best thing in this hotel is definitely the amazing seaview you can admire from the rooms but also from breakfast and bar. Also the private beach was definitely something else. The beach is small and deep but it is gorgeous. Water is clear blue and you can snorkel and see a lot of fish. Also the rooms are a little a bit better than in the pictures but as the hotel is old some refurbishing is needed. The garden is lovely. The staff at the reception and breakfast were friendly and helpful. I recommend to note that not all the rooms have private balconies as based on the pictures you can assume.

In the pool bar the service was not so good.

We enjoyed the beautiful views and swimming in pool

We had a room with lovely view and private balcony . Bedroom was good size although bathroom not so well proportioned and no natural light or window. Loved the sea pool .

Too far from town and no shuttle/ bus service. The breakfast was poor : mostly sweet options , limited choice and variety of savoury and fruit options. Service bit chaotic, had to try grab waiter for coffee , cups and teapots . No Kettle in bedroom and no complimentary bottle of water . Could not get a cup of tea in evening nor an Americana coffee. And no biscuit with cappuccino coffee we did manage to order.

the location and sea view were great, pool was excellent, really appreciated the hotel shuttle picking us up at the port

lounge chairs on the rocks could have been cleaned of bird poop, restaurant and bar staff were friendly but food choices and food could have been better, front desk staff were a bit frazzled

This is truly an excellent hotel. The pool, views are fantastic. Our room was spacious with a lovely balcony overlooking the sea. The staff were at all times friendly and very helpful. Food was excellent and overall definitely a 10 out of 10

Honestly there wasn’t a single thing we didn’t like about the Carasco.
