We arrived at the hotel it was love all decorated for Christmas. Then we were given the keys for our room 77. Which was outside in the carpark an out building. We were very disappointed and went back to reception to see if there was a room in the hotel. But there wasn’t.

Little bit disappointed wirh our room. Paid £215 plus breakfast which is alot of money and don’t feel the room was worth it , couldn’t check in until 4 pm and house keeping knocked at 9.50 am and left all the cleaning stuff outside our room felt like we were rushed to check out . Paid £215 plus breakfast for 18 hour stay in a blah room round the back by the bins …
As above . Main hotel and breakfast area looked better

Good location in walking distance of City Centre. We were lucky and managed to secure a car parking space.
Pleased it was a dog friendly hotel.
Gluten free and soya milk options were available.
There was a party planned in the function room. The music was very loud in our room and went on until midnight.
I understand that can happen when a hotel has a function room, but guests should be informed of that on arrival, especially because if the loud volume, you cannot go to sleep until the music has finished. This was a challenge when travelling with children.
I think the hotel should definitely inform guests on arrival.

La amabilidad del personal del Hotel.
Que la habitación quedara en un 2do piso, sin ascensor.

Really happy with the whole hotel with regards to the staff, service and ambiance.
For us and it’s only our personal preference, is that we found the bed too firm and we didn’t have comfortable nights
5.0
Location was brilliant
Mattresses were a little firm. Some of the finishes especially in the bathroom were poor.

The staff were very helpful and the breakfast was plentiful.
Everything was fine. Lovely surroundings in hotel. Would recommend to friends.
4.0
Main dining area and food at breakfast and evening.
The main issue and only issue was duplex pigeon lift that was incredibly expensive and not value for money. Based on this will not return or recommend doubletree Hilton.

Stayed before great location
Previous rooms have been in the new part of the hotel with comfy large beds. Our room this time was in the town house annexe and although large had a small double bed, no freestanding shower, no electrical sockets near the dressing table and the creakiest floorboards ever!!

The room was extremely clean, well equipped and comfortable. Breakfast was included in our booking and was excellent.
We were there for a concert in the Minster which was a gentle 10min walk away.
As a Blue Badge holder, I hoped to find a disabled parking space. The gentleman on reception went above and beyond his job and checked all around the hotel for me, sadly without success. Service such as this was exceptional and much appreciated.
Limited parking on site although this was made very clear in all information. As a Blue Badge holder, i was disappointed
with only two disabled spaces.

Location , hotel was very modern and staff were very polite and helpful.

VERY comfortable bed, clean and comfy room. The location could not be better to get into the centre of York, a 5 minute walk to York Minster! The breakfast in the morning was very nice, cooked well and a lot of different styles of breakfast food.
The floorboards above my room were EXTREMELY squeaky. It was very annoying when trying to relax/sleep when a constant "squeak, squeak" of floorboards was directly above my head. Parking - I appreciate that York has very limited space for parking as the city is very old, and the closer to the centre the less there will be. As explained there are 24hr car parks very close by, which is excellent. As a suggestion, would it be a good idea to pay for a parking pass in the hotel, get a pass from the hotel and then this displayed in the car? The apps and parking systems can be very confusing and poorly enforced.

The breakfast was lovely - usually say at the Hilton but the Double tree was just as good.
I booked through booking.com and couldn’t get points because of this.

Should ask if you have mobility issues as room 35 has no lift and although im ok my wife struggled with the location to the room.
Parking very steep at £25 a night.
Room was decent enough although what appeared to be damp in the room

Attitude and helpfulness of staff was disgusting, room not ready for 3pm check in, room not clean, smell from outside still not been addressed been going on 3+ years, check in time too late, breakfast too early, check out too early, now has self service breakfast and poor choice and quality, stayed here many time but never again

The property was in a good location as it was walking distance from York centre therefore you could walk to most places.
The photos that they advertise online for the rooms do not actually match the rooms given! We booked a double room and was in fact given a small box room which you couldn’t even fit into properly! There was no proper window and only a small window on the ceiling. AC didn’t work and was given a fan to use instead. Stains all over the carpet.

Staff very helpful.
We moved to a room on the ground floor as my wife has mobility issues. Whilst larger is in need of upgrading.

The bed had big dirty stain on and underneath the sheet n there was dust in some place.

The staff we spoke to were very nice.
Unfortunatley this wasn't for us, we did not like the room, it's very tired looking, toilet handle not great, the room was by a busy road which we felt was going to be a big problem trying to sleep. This hotel was more for business people than a place to stay for a weekend break.

Great location and very friendly and helpful staff. We were lucky enough to get the last parking spot at the hotel.
Having to arrive early so we could get parking.

The breakfast was great
Was not able to deliver the expected service and unclear answers in question. We were told that the room was ready when we arrived but wasn’t. We left to give them time to clean when we came back, the room was still unready and we were told to move somewhere. When we moved to the new room, the aircon was broken and was told that they will try to fix it. We left again to give them time to fix and when we came back it was still not fixed. They were avoiding to remedy the things that was wrong. We were being treated badly and our concerns were just being avoided.

The shared areas were good spec. Warm cookie on arrival & reception staff were friendly.
No shower gel on arrival (empty), requested shower gel be refilled on 2nd day and were informed they were waiting for a delivery (so had a small bottle good for one use delivered to a room with 2 people in). Promptly ran out - asked them to replace it, and didn’t happen - so ran out of shampoo + shower gel. Stayed for 3 nights.
The room was pretty dated - with only a small main light in the corner of the room so pretty dimly lit - other than some halogen side lamps (heated up through use - not even LEDs)!
A/C was also dated and room was pretty hot and when AC was on, sounded like a plane was about to take off!
Overall don’t really see how it’s attached to the Hilton brand / even the doubletree brand - as have stayed in their one in Leeds before and the difference was night and day!

The staff at the hotel were OK and the breakfast was very good
I has room 2 and it was clean but looked quite tarnished. When I returned to the hotel around 10ish, the room was cold and it had turned cold outside. There were no instructions of how to put the heater on and I knew I wouldn't be able to sleep. I rang reception and the night reception manager came to help fix this situation, which he did admirably. However having got the room heater working I still felt cold as it took time to heat up. The manager then found me another heater to heat the room. After all of this it would have been good to have a cupper to warm myself. However, I didn't think of looking in the wardrobe for the tea things! I only knew these were there when I discovered them in the morning. There didn't appear to be any book in the room explaining any of this.
All in all I didn't feel that my room was worth what I paid for it - I was very disappointed..

The bathroom didn’t have anywhere to put toiletries which was quite inconvenient and the armchair in the room was unsuitable - very uncomfortable

My dog and I often stay here when in York. Always feel welcome. Central location. Good size room. Clean. Parked in the hotel car park.
A few more hotel parking spaces would be handy especially during peak season

On arrival I was upgraded to larger double. The hotel and rooms where very clean an fresh. Great location for walking into City of York. Lots to do and see.
In this day and age all you Hotels should be offering for free at least a continental type breakfast, filtered coffee and or tea, even OJ.
9.0
Clean, spacious and the location was spot on.
We didn’t like how the bathroom door opened on to the car park outside, not entirely the best if you have small children who are inquisitive.
