Beautiful property for a peaceful break

Beautiful location with great view of the water and grassy lawn. So peaceful at night with barely any noise despite the campsite across the dam. Kitchenette has all the equipment you need and enjoyed the complimentary muffins. Feels like you are in a rural farm location but felt secure and is not far from Heidelberg town. Host was extremely helpful and accommodating.

Not the hosts' fault but beware using the GPS location provided by booking.com - Google maps took us down the wrong dirt road (seems to think there is a connecting access road but there isn't). Rather get directions from the host upfront.

Beautiful spot in the countryside.

The location was beautiful, next to a camping area. The rooms were comfortable, including a nice living room with comfy chairs and couches, dining area, and full kitchen. The owner provided muffins as well as rusks for breakfast.

There were two space heaters (much appreciated) but a third one for the shared area would have been nice - it was quite cold. The local Hadeda Ibises, which are very loud, woke my sister up at dawn.

Ibis Nest is a very peaceful and tranquil place. We stayed in the standard twin room and it's very quiet and private if no one else is booked in the double room which shares the kitchen and the living room. Lettie is one of the friendliest people you'll ever meet. She made our stay as pleasant as possible and offered more than most guest houses in regard to food (muffins, rusks) and coffee etc. (although it is self-catering).

We liked everything about the place and can definitely recommend it.

I do not like staying in a backyard, the accommodation platforms should state the nature of accommod

The lake. The birds in the morning.

Very very bad Wifi and cellphone connection. Could not reach anybody, had to drive to town to get connected. Renovated room in the backyard. Not really a Lodge or guest house. Gravel road to room not very well. No secure parking. They did not fill up the toilet paper. Photos on accommodation platform is misleading.

Lettie, your sign on the main gate is faded. the gps directions landed us 2 plots away on a cattle farm.

My stay at Ibis Nest was awesome, we enjoyed iur stay!

Welcome by Lettie was very warm. We enjoyed the muffins and rusks. Lettie is a wonderful host, and her place is so neat and tidy, all we needed was there! Thank you so much.

Safe, clean and very comfortable.

Farm based location. safe, clean and spacious. Hosts were really nice and provided some food and drinks.

Drive way could be challenging for a low slung vehicle.

Disappointing

upon arrival at the property the main gate was closed and the contact number given was going to voicemail left us sitting in the sun baking for 45min very rude upon checking out 30min after 10 the next day

lovely location and so quiet - lots of nature around. very friendly too

nothing really only that the internet didn’t work at all but I don’t think it was advertised as being usable anyway

We had a great time and enjoyed the serenity of the venue.

We had a wonderful time at Ibis Nest. The reception and check-in were seamless and the host was very friendly. We loved the little river/dam next to the place and the access to kitchen facilities in our unit. See you again soon!

With the extreme heat in Heidelberg, we expected there to be an aircon or at least a ceiling fan. Although we did have a very small fan, there was really no relief for the heat. We also expected an iron and ironing board in our room (as indicated on the website), as opposed to having to request one from the host. Very poor network coverage. We did not have any wi-fi (the one in the kitchen had no network).

Great for birding hot spots, safe and secure.

We were birding in Johannesburg area and you can't find a better place to visit than Suikerbosrand Nature Reserve and Marievale Bird Sanctuary. Ibis Nest very close to both. Safe and secure places to bird and lodge. Our host was very helpful and the rooms were very nice. A short drive into Heidelberg for great Indian food.

The property is well maintained and clean. The rooms and bedding are so clean. The kitchen has almost everything a self catering facility should have. A warm welcome and treats to fresh muffins and rusks.

Internet connection was a bit of a struggle but it also depends on the type of network and phone. This did not spoil my stay at all and Lynette tried her best to provide different routers to make sure that at least i got connected. Very sweet of her 😀.

Great palce to stay, but cellphone connectivity is an issue

Quiet and beautiful location and is close to town

Cellphone signal is almost nonexistent and wifi at the property is also dependent on cellphone coverage.

Best place to recharge your batteries. Tranquil and serene and Lettie and Dirk make sure that all needs are met. Our only complaint is that we didn't stay longer to make the most of this amazing accommodation.
