Location is Fabu! 5 blocks from Cathedral. Rosa has great ideas for what to see and where. Dining too. And she will arrange tours to butterflies etc.
Nothing. It was welcoming and comfy. An old city building— no views. Water pressure was low in our first floor room.
4.5 / 5.0
The location, Rosa, our fellow guests, the art work, quiet bedroom even though there was a sometimes noisy bar across the street., the roof top deck.
Rosa was a wonderful source of info about English speaking cab drivers and tour guides and restaurants and Morelia customs/etc.
The daily breakfast was well prepared and substantial.

While the facilities and location are wonderful, the best part about Casona Rosa is Rosa. She is a wonderful resource and a very fun host for Morelia. She is an American who has lived and ran her business in Morelia for many years, so she has connections and recommendations that make your stay much more enjoyable and easier. The Casona itself is full of beautiful things - art, books about the area, interesting local furniture, etc. It’s a 6-8 min walk to the main plaza with really good restaurants. Mexico can present certain challenges for visitors and it’s very helpful to have both a comfortable home base and a knowledgeable and gracious host to help you get the most out of your visit. Thank you Rosa!

Breakfast at the B&B was great - lots of fruit, yogurt, and granola, with very good coffee. If you wanted eggs, then Rose has an agreement with a nice cafe across the street where you get a voucher for a breakfast of eggs and coffee.

Beautiful property in a most convenient location.
Nothing! Rose and her staff do an outstanding job of making guests feel welcome.

The bed was comfortable. The on-site staff member was sweet.
My room couldn’t be locked from the outside. My room was hot and had nowhere to sit except the bed. I was expecting a suite.

We enjoyed our stay at Casona Rosa. Super comfortable and the location is great very near all the places we wanted to go. Lupe is a wonderful host. The breakfast was fresh and perfectly prepared.
3.0 / 5.0
Our hostess Lupe was friendly and helpful, and breakfast more than met our needs. Parking was easy to find and cost us MEX$205 for the night. Location was excellent, easy walking distance to the town centre.
We stayed here on the recommendations of friends who had previously stayed at a different location. Sadly, the property at its new location did not meet our expectations. We need our accommodation to provide a quiet place for sleeping, but there is a nightclub at the hotel over the road that pounded into the wee hours of the morning; and a private and secure room - but our room opened to the reception area, and we needed to wedge a piece of cardboard into the door lock so as to make the door secure when locked, the doors also were frosted but had no curtain, so light invaded our night and morning rest. (photo shows the morning light coming in at 7:15am) The adjoining room's bathroom was also slightly visible through the glass block wall and we could hear those guests talking. We found the double bed quite small as well.

I very much enjoyed my stay at Casona Rosa. Rosa and Lupe really took care of me with anything needed and the breakfast Lupe prepared was just wonderful. This is a wonderfully nice decorated typical Morelia style house and it is very spacious. Casona Rosa is very central, just few blocks away from the Cathedral and main square. Rosa also gave me very good suggestions for traditional restaurants which I really appreciate!

the new location is fabulous, I had the Frida room which was very comfortable and nice bathroom. They have wonderful service and breakfast.
the main problem is that the location has moved and Bookings.com won't put new address in. So we drove around a bit looking for Casona Rosa.

The location is perfect. The place itself is very cozy. Guadalupe, the housekeeper is really nice and Rose, the owner, was always attentive to my needs. The included breakfast was delicious. And being one of the few pet friendly properties around made the stay even better.
It’s not specific to the property. Be aware that there will be mosquitoes bothering at night. You will have repellent provided in the room, but do take your own precautions.
