A beautiful old villa below the walls of the city, recently renovated into a nice small hotel. Grand old rooms with high ceilings, wrought iron fixtures, indoor or outdoor breakfast. (All vegan, including fine pastries.) A short steep walk up stairs and paths to the “Porta all’Arco” gate to the city. Trees and singing birds all around the villa and all along the path up to the city wall gate. And Volterra is wonderful - fascinating Etruscan history, and not as crowded with tourists as Florence or San Gimigniano. And you can easily see all of Volterra on foot. We wished we had booked more time here.
It was hard to find. Our GPS led us first to a dead end in an apartment complex below the villa. But when I phoned my contact at the villa for help, she explained pretty clearly how to find it. Hope they can post a somewhat bigger and brighter sign - you have to find their driveway directly off a fairly main road. But overall it was our favorite hotel out of three nice places in Tuscany.

A beautiful and calm villa just some steps outside the old city walls, very nicely done!

Onsite parking, comfortable beds, great airflow in the rooms, breakfast voucher for a cafe in town (free coffee + pastry), good wifi.
Nothing, everything was great.

Nice location very close to the old town.
Rooms are getting on in years. No real service in the hotel - staff not always on site.

Location was ok, just outiside the city walls. Although it requires you to climb a lot of stairs to get to the old town
What a HORRiBLE stay! The room is literally in the basement and it is full of mould and damp. I spent a night sleeping in the car since it was not possible to breathe. Managment was kind enough to provide a small discount but that was of course not sufficient for the super bad experience. There is no wifi in the room and also no phone recpetion. Even if you have low standards, avoid this place because it is not worth paying anything to stay in a mouldy basement. 0/10

Beautiful old Villa with a lot of style. Very nicely renovated, so it has all comforts and all feels fresh
The location in walking distance to the old town is superb and that it has parking spaces is very conventient. But parking space is limited, so it is not guaranteed that you get one.
The street might be a bit noisy, but it didn’t disturb us.
As for Corona, breakfast is served in a local bar in town. We enjoyed very much to sit on the main piazza in the sun for breakfast. No problem.

Close to Volterra centre with an easy walk up to one of the main gates. Lots of great restaurants and bars near by. It is a very beautiful building.
Onsite parking only available for 5 cars. Room was right by the front door of the villa, therefore very loud after a long day of work. We were told they weren't able to provide breakfast due to Covid (even though we have stayed at many hotels recently and had breakfast onsite) however they did provide us a voucher for a cafe in town.

Parking spot at the hotel and near the city. Good location to visit Volterra. Friendly host at the check-in. Breakfast was served in one of the bars in town instead of at the location. We had a great view over the Tuscan landscape from that bar!
The electricity in the room seemed a bit off. When turning on the AC or plugging in our phones, the lights went off and on for a second. I didn't trust charging my phone or battery's or leaving the AC on while sleeping.
The room was a bit old fashioned room but did just fine.

Fantastic view, friendly personnel, great location just a few minutes from a city gate, real Tuscany feeling.

Great Location and friendly owner.
No View as promised, rather old interieur. The room was spacious but not everything was super clean and the bathroom fairly outdated. Annoying that cleaning started at 8.30 am with cleaners being very noisy..
