good value and in town centre

I thought the staircase was lovely, as was the breakfast room with the tables set with traditional breakfast china. The bar was comfortable and staff were welcoming and engaging. Superb piping hot water in bedroom.
I didn't like that the corridor leading to the bedrooms had an additional lock on it of which I didn't have a key. Had someone engaged the lock then one would be locked out.

bathroom was grubby and shower door didn’t close (a panel missing)

Nothing really, it was a comfortably experience all round.

As soon as we entered the hotel I was struck by the unique and sumptuous decor- it felt like we were entering the 19th century. The bar was more than a bar-it was a meeting place for friends and those who would become friends, and there was so much to look at on every wall and corner. The rooms were small but had everything a person could need- AND hot water showers! The staff were so friendly and helpful- it got to feel like home pretty quickly. Special thanks to manager Selina Chanel, who came back to work in the evening to help us with online booking problems for the airlines- she cheerfully worked with us for two hours to solve our flight problem- bless her, keep her, and give her a raise!

Staff lovely, breakfast excellent, although no veggie alternative available for the cooked breakfast
Just painted 2 of the bedroom doors we booked with gloss so they were wet and smelled strongly of paint
The bedrooms looked tired, really could do with refurbishing

Location was good and the breakfast was lovely
My bedroom door being pounded on by the cleaners at 10am saying checkout was 11am

nothing. Booked and had a double room confirmed. was give a twin with 2 single beds, in a room that was tiny. I asked to change, but they had no doubles available. There was a desk, but no chair so had to sit in a public area to work. Breakfast was about as basic as it could be with only Instant Coffee or Loose Teabags.
EVERYTHING !!!

Calling this a hotel is misleading. Its a dump
Couldn't give me receipt. Card machine not working. Keys to rooms not working. 'Housekeeping ' shouting around the place form 10am and hammering my door to get out at 10:50. Left a bar of soap in the room to shower and wash with, dated, smelly. Avoid. A room in someone's house is better value

Good location, clean and friendly staff.
An older style of premises and basic facilities. It was a little noisy at night.

It was clean and well kept.
I'm not sure if it was staff or other guests but doors were opened at banged closed continuously until 4am. Very noisy taps were run regularly. The sound of footsteps until 4am reverberated throughout the hotel.

Very comfortable beds, great location , very quiet at night for sleep. Lovely friendly staff and beautiful breakfast. Would definitely stay again.
We were in room 10, so many stairs. Not for people with mobility issues.

Parking was easy.
The room is very dated. we asked for soap and never received it.
