A wonderful Country House Hotel

This was a wonderful country house hotel. The welcome was enthusiastic. A friend visited and brought a bottle of wine. The manger took the wine and put it in the fridge until it was needed. The grounds were beautiful, the food was delicious and most of all, the staff were most welcoming.

We liked everything about this hotel. We considered ourselves so lucky to have stayed there.

perfect stop en route for our road trip

Elegance and slightly faded decor. We were in Room with our’own’ conservatory,overlooking the courtyard, which was enchanting.

Peaceful, friendly independent hotel.

Kind staff. I was running late but they let me phone in my dinner order to have when I arrived after hours. Dinner was OK, breakfast excellent. Wifi good.

Shower had little water pressure and was lukewarm in the evening. Better temperature next morning.

Breakfast was excellent. Staff very helpful, pleasant and professional Beautiful gardens Dinner also good Payment for everything made on checkout, no advance paynent!

If arriving by train, there are no taxis about. It is a 15, 20 minute walk to the hotel if you know where to go!

Beautiful old house full of character. The 4 poster bed was fabulously comfortable. Gorgeous breakfast, requested half portion (mini Irish) and was more than enough. Would definitely go back again.

Wedding Anniversary Dream

We stayed for our first wedding anniversary in January, as we got married here the year prior but hadn't stayed. The room was absolutely beautiful!!! Four poster bed, beautiful bathroom.The location is handy and the staff were super friendly. The grounds are lovely to walk around in, And there was a great vegan option at breakfast. Would highly recommend 💜

Floorboards under the carpet were desperate and literally made the furniture in the room shake when you were walking. There was a gap under the door to the room.

We both loved this country style hotel, we will definetly return, food was very good, the staff are so friendly, we chatted with a lovely gentleman employee he was very knowledgeable about the history of the house and was very professional at dinner service. The gardens are beautiful and well maintained. Quiet at night,room was cosy with a nice bathroom, spotless. Old style room key is a great touch.lovely little outside areas to sit and relax.

Too noisy

-Staff was great -Good location -Comfy bed -Price

-the noise from both the busy road and the others guests (and staff?) is unbearable. Moreover there is a constant dripping noise which I couldn't identify. It didn't stop for all my staying. - Poor WiFi - Good food for dinner and breakfast overall, but I've always found the potatoes undercooked !! Not great for business travel I'm afraid, sorry because the staff was very friendly and accommodating.
