The hotel is literally on the beautiful sandy beach and during our visit in late March we had the beach to ourselves, it was fab! Our host was very friendly and helpful and our breakfasts plentiful and varied. Our room was a good size with a wardrobe and coat rack, and bedside tables. The air con was a blessing ! The balcony was a good size and had a table and two chairs. We had a side sea view room and it was quiet even tho the road was very near. The walk from the hotel along the beach to the main area with bars, shops, etc took about 20mins. Just a warning that the waves are very strong here and it’s not a “swim” area but shallow enough to enjoy getting wet in the surf.
The sea being more calm!

Agree to all the good reviews, absolutelly happy with my choice of the hotel. Spacious clean room with great view, very nice and helpfull staff, the greatest location just by the ocean, comfortable infrastructure and really the best beach. We enjoyed our vacations
We liked waves in the ocean but for some people (especially with children) it might be not so comfortable to swim

Wi-Fi was not working.

Location is very nice! Right on the beach. It's not a very busy place and you can go to more crowded places along the beach. Serenity, peace. The owners are very nice. Breakfasts are good, juices and fresh fruits are amazing.
The dishes served in the restaurant are not to my taste, I preferred to eat outside. But breakfasts are good.

beach access, lovely host
Sea is very loud at night

It’s a lovely place just outside the city center! walkable distance to the bars and surfing schools!

Perfect position right on the beach, very warm and caring staff, spacious rooms.
The ocean was a bit wild, but we were able to swim using some tricks.

+ The hotel is located directly at a less crowded part of the beach.
+ They serve some legit food.
+ The whole staff is really friendly.
+ Rooms are well-maintained and just beautifully decorated.
+ WiFi works great (though not during the scheduled power cuts obviously).
- The noisy Colombo-Galle road the hotel is located at.

Very nice Hotel located a little bit further away from the main area but therefore super relaxed and quiet. Still in a short walking distance to the surfspots and restaurants so we enjoyed a beautiful beach walk during sunset every day. The rooms where more than big and we had a huge balcony. The brother of the owner could speak german fluently so we were talking a lot and he helped us with several things such as organizing an airport taxi on our last day. We could also rent a scooter there which was definitely worth it. Another thing was the great dinner we get there - definitely try the curry! We had a great time there!
Compared to the rest of our trip the breakfast was not too much and not much variety. was not important to us but could be a point if you stay longer than a week.

We've had a fantastic stay and spontaneous stayed longer than planned. The family who runs this place is very friendly and helpful. The breakfast is amazing, the homemade marmelade is so tasty it's incredible! The location has a fantastic view, a very beautiful clean and empty beach in front. The rooms are large and clean. This was definitely not our last stay there!
everything was perfect

The room is pretty big, with nice balcony to the sea. Pretty clean.
The breakfast was a bit boring. I think more fruits or vegetables would solve the problem.

Excellent hotel! We felt like at home. Staff is very attentive. They always took care about us and our small son. Also they have a good cafe where you may grab some food.
All was good

Super restaurant and kitchen...very nice owner couple... the food was amazing!!

Beautiful ocean view - big balcony few meters from the beach. Private beach with sunbeds and some palmtrees. Calm and quiet surroundings - you need to take a tuktuk to get to the city center - it takes 5 minutes.
Windows are old so you hear waves of the ocean during the whole night - and it's really loud! The bathroom is old and basic. There is no AC, only a fan available, so it's really hot inside. The breakfast is basic and everyday the same - toast with jam, omlet, coffee and juce.

Big room and balcony on the beach. So quiet. Host helpful
Power cuts but not hotel fault

Clean rooms. Few meters away from beach. Gradient of beach a bit steep, okay for experienced swimmers. Charged in US dollars and payment in rupees at going current rate without surcharge
No kettle for tea in rooms. Have to purchase from their restaurant

Location is perfect, our room was super spacious and pretty with an ocean view, owners kind and helpful. Loved everything about this guest house!

Lovely welcoming owners, property in a beautiful quiet location right on the beach away from loud music and parties. Beautiful sea view, you can hear the ocean. It’s loud! So soothing. Shared balcony and no air con so was quite hot, but luckily the windows had bars so you can leave them open safely. Good food in resto, nice sunloungers on the beach
was a little hot in the room but manageable

The host and her family was really friendly.
Such lovely people and where very helpful.
Breakfast was always perfect.
Location was more away from all the trouble but we liked it. You had a beach for yourself .
Would recommend it all the time.
Not that clean like european standard.
Ocean can get really loud by night.

localizacion was very good, friendly staff, nice beach :)

Really nice beachfront and common area. The view from the room was beautiful. It was our mistake not to notice while booking that the rooms with sea view have no air conditioning as usually the properties state it in the description of the room and the owner was nice enough to accommodate our wish to change to AC room, but at extra cost. We ended up staying in the non AC room as the weather was cooler in those days and fan was fine.
Be careful if you book a room with AC or not. Beachfront rooms have no AC and are stuffy and difficult to air.
I am quite surprised to read in other reviews saying that breakfast was excellent, it was really tasteless. Coffee in Sri Lanka is not that great in general, but here it was undrinkable - old, bitter taste. Omelette was dry, no taste or salt, juice mixed with water as much as possible, no fruits for breakfast.
Bathroom needs some work, was also dirty by the wall, everything rusty, ants marching around. Net above bed was dirty.
Bed was not really comfortable, matress was quite hard.

the location is great, only a ten minute walk along the beach to the busy area
the room was very hot without air conditioning and the bed linen felt old

The staff was very helpful and polite.
Rooms needs improvement, same breakfast! payment is mandatory in cash rupees (and not a good rate).

Great location, the beach is much more beautiful here than in very city center.
Compared to other restaurabts the guest houses’s restaurant is expensive.
10.0
Nice cozy place if you like walking along the beach like me (I’ve done about 8-10 kilometres a day). The place is quite far from the centre and from most of the restaurants. It takes about 30 minutes walk to the turtle beach. Many nice cafes, surfers schools on the way.
There’s a nice chill zone in the restaurant. Lovely host is ready to settle any problem.
A lot of space in the room and nice balcony.
The road is so close to the place that you’ll spend hours trying to cope with the noise. Got used to it in the third day only. But it’s a huge problem for all the south coast: the road and railway are close to the ocean. I guess British have built the objects so that they could travel enjoying the view))))

very nice location directly at the beach with a nice little garden. everything is very clean and sweet. breakfast ist very good and freshly made and served at the beach.
it is a family hotel, with very nice and warm people. the food is good and the price for what you get is just great. the beach is clean, nice water and no people. walking distance to many caffees and restaurants.
it is a bit loud (ocean and street)
