Pleasant

The hotel is located right on the waterfront of the village. My room faced a wall, so it was stuffy in the room. The view from the room was to the wall. Some insects crawl in the room, which are poisoned in the evening. It smells strongly of sewage in the toilet and in the restaurant at breakfast (if you sit near the toilet). from the shower, water flows onto the floor in the toilet, which creates additional humidity and stuffiness. Be sure to close the toilet door. The staff is very friendly, the breakfast is good.

Passable

The receptionist was super helpful and very nice. She did all she could to help. We stayed in two different rooms and one was much better than the other. Room 104 has a mountain view, but is a decent size with a big bathroom and a good shower The location is nice right on the sea shore. Not a huge amount happening in the town, but a good little bakery nearby with freshly baked goods and the rum factory is worth a visit.

After the first night we moved to room 307 which had a sea view but was a smaller room and the view was not visible from the bed. The bathroom was small with a very short shower screen due to a sloping roof so the bathroom floor was sopping wet after showering. The breakfast was insanely inefficient. Breakfast only started at 8 am which is too late for all the walkers/ cyclists staying. Rolls, butter jam, fruit and yogurt (tastes weird) is on each table, but the server brings each table a jug of yellow squash. Coffee is good, but made one by one...hot food is by order. It can take 30-40 min to get the cooked food. It was very slow as only one waiter doing his best to serve 25 people all turning up at the same time. A breakfast buffet would be a great improvement... The lift also stops working in the evening after reception is closed which is rather unusual.

Located right in centre of Bay, 50 metres from sea. Range of restuarants right there.

We found noise from local cane sugar rum distillery nearby was noticeable.

Good value for money, great restauraunt down there in the hotel, also with the tables outside next to the sea. Pool few meters from the hotel. Well appreciated balconies with seatings. We recommend to wake up to watch the sunrise from the balcony ;-)

Hotel with great views of the sea

Cute small hotel with an amazing view. Most of the rooms have balcony and Seaview. It's very close to the sea, one can hear the sound the waves. Staff was friendly. Room was fair, not too modern but clean. Restaurant was at ground floor. Breakfast and dinner were good. Staff was friendly. There are surf schools nearby and some nice walks. The view is really one of the nicest we had in maderia.

Pleasant Seafront Hotel

Hotel Costa Linda is a very pleasant hotel located on the seafront. The rooms are spacious and very clean with balcony and sea view. Staff is extremely friendly and very helpful. Big breakfasts are served in the downstairs restaurant, which is open all day for lunches and dinners. We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Costa Linda and would recommend it to anyone staying in Porto da Cruz.

Great view, great hotel

Let's face it, this hotel is facing the ocean, like 50m of you. Almost all the rooms I think are like that. Mine got a little volley of stairs in prime! Down the hotel you have the restaurant with place right in front of the ocean (when I say right in front i mean exactly that, Right. In. Front. Nearer and you need scuba-diving !) So if you enjoy great view, the sounds of the waves all the night. This is the place for you.

The location was great. The sea view from our balcony was amazing! The room and beds were comfortable. The staff was very friendly and very helpful when we needed anything.

WiFi signal was very weak and there were not enough sockets - either you have a night lamp or you charge your phone. However when we asked for the extension we got one.

Great, friendly, family run hotel

Excellent view and location. We had a sea facing room with a balcony. There wasn't any tea or coffee making facilities in the room, but when we asked, the very friendly staff brought us a kettle and cups. Breakfast was excellent and the restaurant downstairs served great food all day.

I thought it had a swimming pool; my mistake.

All the staff in hotel and restaurant were charming and efficient. Great location with sea views and balcony with chairs and table. Small intimate hotel making you feel very welcome. Superb value for money. Great food and wine.
