The Pearl Valley estate was part of Val De Vie and was beautiful. Looking over the lake was a stunning setting. The four bedrooms and four bathrooms worked so well with four couples.
Entry in and out of the estate is tricky and because we were attending my son’s wedding there were two cars driving in and out often. Only the main bedroom faces onto the lake which is a pity. One Aircon wasn’t working properly.

Great unit.
Pressure in main bedroom shower is very weak. Access codes only allowed for one entry/exit per code. Would be great to be able to use one code for entire stay instead of asking for more codes when required.

self catering, restaurant was closed for renovation which was a big disappointment
Met expectations

The location, house layout and scenery. Everything we needed for our stay in terms of bathroom and kitchen facilities as well as bedrooms were well catered for.
Load shedding caught us every time when we had to get ready going to our tournament and sometimes in the evenings when we got back and needed to prepare food. The facility had no means to assist in terms of load shedding.

Pearl Valley Review
Overall we had a good stay at the Pearl Valley resort house . The house was spacious, the balcony was a favorite spot because of the Braii and view. There are a couple things that could have made the stay more comfortable and great instead of good.
Let’s start with the basics. Entering and existing the place was hectic because a unique code is required for each time each car enters and exits. The WiFi was not working! At the advise of the property manager we tried rebooting numerous times with no such luck. Our hope for a Netflix and chill weekend was lost. The water in the unit was brown! In each of the 3 bathrooms even after running bath water for 10 minutes it came out brown from the faucet. The thought of enjoying a hot bath was lost.
The unit is listed as self catering and this is literal in every since. Unlike most accomodations there was not even the basics like sugar, tea nor coffee. There was a baby 4 ounce press, even after buying coffee each cup had to be individually pressed. Things like garbage bags were not even included!! A couple of the bathrooms were stocked with one hotel size bar soap however there was no hand wash in any bathrooms.
Overall we managed to have a great stay because we had comfortable beds and great company! The location is beautiful and it was an easy drive to local wine farms.

The area is beautiful and secure.
The property was extremely dirty and the furniture old, outdated and damaged. Not what one would expect from Pearl Valley.
I had to clean the property with the only cloth in the kitchen 5 minutes before my family arrived. The property was supposed to have been cleaned, but only surface cleaning done. No cleaning products. I attach pictures of the dirt.
Upon contacting the letting agent - they placed the blame on the cleaners. No refund. Only apology from letting agent giving cleaners the rap.
Pre-paid electricity. Electricity ran out first evening. Contacted letting agent only to be advised that the cleaners did not load the electricity. Upon where my family had to find the meter, photograph and send to agent. She then send code for electricity. So basically no one checked the cleanliness of the property before occupation or that there electricity was uploaded.
