Terrific stay at this mountain lodge. Handy for all sorts of lodging a 5 minutes away from the infamous Besseggen Ridge trail. Great accomodation, roomy room, great breakfast and dinner (and lunch making for the hike) and the staff was very helpful. I would definitely stay here again.
4.3
great dinner, nice staff
The bed was REALLY uncomfortable, much too soft after a long hike

Great cabins and a wonderful guesthouse area to relax in. The weekly buffet dinner is one of the best we’ve ever had. Simply superb.
It’s 2023… probably time to provide wifi in the cabins.

Great location with amazing views. Appreciated the basic necessities provided in the cottages. Especially loved the catered dinner we ordered through the restaurant!
No towels or linens provided

The place is simple but has everything we needed. Amazing location for some hikes and beautiful nature around. Peaceful and friendly.
Wifi connection is available just in the main building, we did not have any in a cottage.

The place is in located very close to the important and beatutiful hiking routes which makes it very valuable. The double room was big and confortable and the shower very nice. We did not use the sauna but next time we definitively will. We had to get up verly early to get to the gjendeboat so they served us breakfast very early!
The bed was a bit soft for me. For norwegian standard is a bit outdated but not a problem at all and way better than a DNT cabin.

Dishwasher wasnt functioning

Nice, spacious cabin, at great location to explore Jotunheimen. A very relaxed atmosphere, a good available diner with local Norwegian cuisine, close proximity to great hiking routes.

The breakfast was very nice
The dinner area was very nice
The room was not very comfortable. Kind of small.

The dinner buffet was amazing! Must try !
They first gave us a crammed up twin room with 2 beds on a row instead of the orginally 'booked and paid for' double room. Had to go and ask and change rooms afterwards.
4.3
Perfect location for the Besseggen Hike.
Helpfull and welcoming staff.
Extremelly small room (about 10sq meters, bathroom included, half of what we expected from the pictures). No room to walk once luggage oppened…
Hard to sleep : when your above neighbour barely mooves, you can hear the whole floor squeaking, not great before a hike. Ask for a room on the 2nd floor!

We loved breakfests and dinners. It was superb

The location was the best of the hotel, very close to the start of the Besseggen hike route. Also, the hotel provided dinner and breakfast at a very reasonable price (breakfast was actually included in the room rate). In addition, breakfast was available from 6.30h in the morning, which was great so you can start the hiking early in the morning.
It's not that we didn't like anything in particular, but I believe the price was too elevated for what we got.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. It was an ideal location for exploring the mountains and lakes of this beautiful region, with a trailhead to one of the alpine lakes and area trail network right out the door. Our cabin was spacious, very clean, and had everything we needed. The main lodge was immaculate and well maintained; various cozy lounge spaces exuded traditional mountain atmosphere with a roaring wood fire on one chilly night; young staff were friendly and attentive; and the food (especially the dinners) was outstanding. We were fortunate to get in on the evening buffet offered a few times a week, which features fresh local mountain fare like moose, reindeer, trout, salmon, mushroom stew and amazing cheesy potatoes au gratin. It was an absolute feast, and everything was delicious, a great value—don't miss it if you stay. The 3-course dinner on the other nights cost the same, however, and while our meals were very tasty, they felt rather expensive (as did the breakfast at 175 NOK -- included for hotel guests but costs extra if you are staying in a cabin, which has its own cooking facilities). Overall, however, the value here is excellent and we loved our 3-night stay. Would highly recommend Bessheim Fjellstue.
Wi-Fi coverage is very limited. It's offered only in the main reception area, which is fine, but even there it is very hit or miss. My phone would connect, but not my laptop. And when a lot of guests were attempting to use it, it became impossible. Would be an advantage to have better Wi-Fi throughout the lobby/lounge area, as many guests rely on it for confirming plans, connecting with family at home, etc. This is the only reason I didn't give it a complete 10 score.

It was a great location and really lovely lounge and dining areas with quality food and customer service. Definitely exceeded expectations
