Love the location, overlooking the lake, access to swim and nice stroll into the main town. Lots of beautiful places to visit and plenty of resteraunts.
Some facilities a bit tired, our fridge didn't work and the garden shower was broken too.
We wanted to explore more places and would have been better hiring a car.

We had some issues, we spoke to the manager and he very kindly and quickly sorted out our issues.

the staff does try. there was no plant based milk in the morning but it was provided on request.
The two single mattresses side by side do not work as a double bed for a couple…at least find a way to properly join them together. They spread apart in no time and you end up in the gap in between.

only the lake view
the room was dirty, didn’t look like on the pictures. bathroom was so small, u couldn’t even turn around under the shower. it wasn’t vacuumed. on the bed were DEAD FLIES. the toilet wasn’t cleaned. cobwebs and dust EVERYWHERE.
a smell came out of the mini bar. the holder from the showerhead was broken. the table on the balcony was so dirty. the pool was also dirty. my back hurts from sleeping on the bed.
i booked a room with a lake view & got one without, after i called because of it they told me they will give me another room but it was smaller than the other one AND they charged me 40€ more.
first morning there were construction workers & cutted the three. no one told us about it, they woke us up because they were loud at 7 or 8 o’clock.
the night shift couldn’t even speak english. the whole stay was horrible & disgusting, what a pity we couldn’t cancel it. the stuff was friendly but unprofessional, wanted to keep our passports for an hour? i’m working in a hotel since years & i know how it works etc. so you’re not allowed to keep it.
i’m just disappointed & sad about everything & my lost money. for the future: teach your housekeeping how to clean & change the description about the lake view that you are supposed to have allegedly in every room.

The "lower personal" like cleaning stuff and at the breakfast were very nice. Management personal on the other hand (Concetta C.) is incredibly unprofessional, aggressive and unfriendly!
Before booking the room the receptionist Concetta C. insured us (lied) in a phone call that all Family rooms would have lake view. The opposite is the case, they view to the street and thus are extremely loud at night, cause motorcycles are driving that main road constantly.
Really bad happened, when we arrived at the Hotel (after 12hours of driving!) at 8pm, and couldn't check in until 10.30 pm.
Reason for this was the same receptionist that would not let us in and let us pay the second half tomorrow morning, although we had already payed the first half (= 3 nights) via booking.com. She quickly got extremely unprofessional, unfriendly and rude. As we've never experienced this kind of payment procedure we kindly asked her for a short written confirmation, that this second payment is needed to complete the booking payment process, and needed to allow us access to the room. She refused to write down anything, nor would she sign anything! She only shouted at us that we can go to another hotel, which of course is stupid as we had already prepaid the half. With this suspicious behavior we wanted to call the police as we suspected fraud, which made her even more aggressive and suddenly she had to go away to "serve other clients" (at 10pm). After more than an hour of discussion with Concetta as we didn't saw any alternative stay we payed the second half directly as we were extremely tiered. Then she still refused to let us in the room, as now she required a 100 Euro damage deposit, in cash! Card payment was not an option! She did not gave us any proper receipt for that 100 Euros, only a not legally binding flapping note which could mean anything. Then she wanted us to pay citi tax, "preferably cash" although it was included in the booking price! In the end we were let in the room at 10.30 pm after more than two hours of exhaustive discussions after our 12hour-car-drive.

Nice recently refurbished room
Clean
Not clear how to access the hotel

Excellent location. Room was fabulous with a lake view. Breakfast was good. Staff very friendly.
Unfortunately, elevator was out when we checked in so we had to lug suitcases up two floors. Here is where we learned that the main floor is level 0. LOL. It was fixed by the next day but we had already trained ourselves for the stairs.

Friendly staff
Great location, very close to the old town.
The lift stopped working for a day.

Lakefront, not far from the castle. Quiet.

Overall very good. Clean room with every comfort available. Very comfortable beds. Very friendly and helpful staff. Two swimming pools and private beaches on both sides of the peninsula (via the other hotel). I can't think of anything that went wrong or I can complain about. Ok the lake view was partially obstructed by another building. But the location is about 5 minutes walk to the beautiful centre.

Breakfast was very good. the room spacious it had 2 balconies, one to the front and one with partial view to the lake. Lake access was nice, you can swim on it and its quite calm. Hotel has parking.
The pool was cold, because it was most of the time in the shade, but you still have access to the lake, or they give access to another hotel with bigger pool.

location.
facilities of partner hotel.
room size and layout excellent for a family.
staff.
breakfast, variety of food.
some parts a bit tired (balcony, no lights). wifi really weak. room card kept popping out so aircon and power went off). furniture outside a bit rickety.
3.5
Access to the lake and a short walk to the old town and a handy car park, the staff were very nice, the view from the very large balcony was a joy to wake up to
Breakfast was poor cold meats and cheese should have been kept in a cool area toaster inadequate

The light in the bathroom was out,
Parking was a bit difficult, room was ok, not having a bathroom light was a pain

The room was as advertised. Clean with two balconies. The shower would need improvement but the bathroom as a whole was very nice. Sitting area, fridge, air conditioning. Generous breakfast and very friendly staff. Access to partner hotel with bigger pool and larger garden with nice snack day time restaurant. Also great location for town access and both sunrise and sunset over the lake.
2.5
Staff and breakfast. Staff were fabulous - really really nice and helpful
Fridge was barely cool, patio furniture was full of wildlife and balcony smelled of sewers. We spent an hour or two cleaning the patio furniture with domestos wipes before we would use it, and believe me, I am not what you'd call fussy.
Room was cramped
Shower broke, the hotel fixed it, but the repaired shower head wouldn't stay in the holder.

The hotel is at an excellent location, it has parking a small pool and rooms with lake view also. The staff are friendly and the breakfast was good.
The garden view is not really garden view, the windows look to the roof of the restaurant. The hotel and the rooms are a bit outdated and felt like not soo clean. Also there was a strange odor.

We actually stayed at the sister Hotel LaPaul across the street. The Owner Paola was fantastic and accommodated all of our needs and could not have been more helpful. All of the staff were friendly and gave great service and I would highly recommend both the Hotel Smeraldo and Hotel Lapaul.
