I enjoyed the stay, the outdoor shower gives a feeling of a outdoor camping trip. The kitchen area was very well organized and neat. A couple suggestions, a freezer compartment on fridge. Please update barbecue. Complimentary robes for use with outdoor shower. Thanks again Evie, I quite enjoyed coffee and coconut rum.

Hosts were friendly and helpful about suggesting things to do. Very clean with lots of small amenities available such as insect repellent and excellent guide book. Hot water failed once. Very loving cat likes attention so a warning to persons allergic to cats. House wing is quaint but interesting. Higher altitude means nice cool temperatures--no air needed. All together, a good experience.

This property was our favorite of our stays in hawaii! it’s definitely a unique experience but we were very comfortable and Evie was so kind and helpful. she even brought us fresh avocados and sparkling cider! friendly cat named Captain Fred kept us company for the majority of our stay. while there isn’t a full kitchen, there’s a plug in induction burner that was helpful. i would recommend getting groceries while in Kailua Kona or a larger city, as the choice mart store in captain cook was ridiculously expensive. overall though, this property was tucked away in a peaceful town, near some perfect snorkeling beaches, and we had a relaxing stay.

I had an amazing time at this historical property. The pictures are true to form, the hosts were super friendly and accommodating, and have done a fantastic job creating this little cottage. Although a rustic feel, everything is new within the property. I really enjoyed the combination of indoor and outdoor living. Although the shower and toilet are outdoors you still have privacy as they do have doors. I was a single female traveller, there was no one time that I felt unsafe. There were times that I worked from the property, and had no issues with the WIFI or mobile signal. I spent just over a month travelling the islands and having an onsite washer and dryer was a welcoming treat! I loved spending time with Fred the cat, whom was great company at the end of a busy day. I will definitely be returning next year, and I am hoping to stay again if the dates allow.

The feel of real Hawaii. I lived on island many years ago in a plantation home and it felt just like home.

Great authentic feel.
We enjoyed our stay here. Everything just as pictured. We enjoyed the outdoor shower & kitchen area. Made it feel different than other places and like we were livin local. We based out of here and spent one day in Kailua, one in captain cook area and one day exploring the Kohala coast. Then once we checked out, we went south. Felt like it was a good place to base out of. Evie was so kind she even gave us oranges from her orange tree and an avocado from her tree.

My wife and I really enjoyed this bungalow and the openness of the living spaces. A perfect layout for Kona. We found the best snorkeling at "Two Step" beach which was only 15 mins away. We were also able to walk to the start of the "Captain Cook" trail head. Small town/local grocery stores were great as well as the To Go restaurants.
100 years ago the site used to be a Kona Coffee plantation and the building was apart of the the original complex. Very tropical environment.

Great getaway
All was perfect. A box of chocolates and champagne was waiting for us and the location was ideal. Thank you again!

Perfect, affordable, clean!
This place was so perfect for us to have a place to be while we explored the island and mostly the 3 bays that we love in the area. Evie was wonderful, the place was immaculate, and we had everything we needed. She was thoughtful and even dropped umbrellas on our porch when the rain started. We’ll be back. Thank you!

Very Sweet Stay
Great location at Captain Cook. Close to snorkelling and coffee locations. Place is small, yet very efficiently laid out. We felt completely comfortable. Great shower, comfortable bed. Convenient washer dryer. Lots of amenities, from beach mats to fresh flowers. Lovely little lanai. And very kind and personable hosts. Mahalo.

Very Accommodating
Hawaiian cottage had interesting history and has nice vibe. Friendly owners and surroundings. Only issue was the dogs at the rental property and neighbot's dogs we're "somewhat" noisy and I am talking~several dogs. Cottage could use some provisions and condiments. Such as: coffee, salt&pepper, etc.

Peaceful
Very clean and quaint. Amazing location. Close to kina and southern points. Great tempature day and night. Bed comfortable. If you're a light sleeper rosters crowed through the night. A very inexpensive place way to see the big island.

Indoor-Outdoor living at superb location
This is a lovely cabin that merges outdoor and indoor living. Loved having the breezy kitchen and shower, while keeping all the privacy.
The balcony provided beautiful sunsets at dinner time.
Evie has everything that you may need, even after sun moisturizer. As a plus, you are so close to Kona and highways, but in a peaceful location.
Walking distance to best snorkeling in Hawai'i.
