A clean simple stay for a tired traveller
Slightly cramped room

Helpful friendly service. Food available on the menu at any time. Very nice room and TV.
The location out of Bracknell was a bit challenging even with Google map as there are a lot of roundabouts to navigate! But the hotel is a lovely old building with character so worth the journey.

For the budget we really didn't expect to be in a room with a four poster bed and a log fire so that was a wonderful surprise! The hotel itself was wonderfully quirky with lovely friendly staff who were happy to have a chat! It is fantastically located for Lapland UK!
There was no hot water but I'm sure the staff would've sorted that out had we asked. Also the breakfast price for children was a bit too expensive.

Great location close to Ascot and Windsor. Spacious parking
Having to walk up stair with a ankle injury. Could do with updating decor.

that had parking
The property is very dated. Tv is like 5 inches and not comfortable at all.

Sadly we had an accident on the motorway and didn't make the hotel . .
Someone rang and asked my daughter if we were still going as I was in hospital that night .
She said we weren't and the gentleman said he would need to speak to management .
Obviously payment had already been taken .
I did think in the circumstances they may have refunded some of the payment . But we heard nothing back from them which was very disappointing to be honest .
It certainly wasn't the kindest outcome

Lovely building in lovely grounds.
Bed was a little uncomfortable

Did not like
3 people and two pillows. Not clean. Hot with faulty fan. Beds hard. Not a good stay.

Location is good, allowed late check-in
I was issued a small fine when I arrived because my vehicle (A luton van) would apparently "block" the carpark. I was then instructed to park in an area (still in hotel grounds) where they said they would have to apply the charge, despite me leaving before 7am. Wouldn't recommend for contractors.

Free parking. No damage deposit held. Friendly staff.

Friendly staff who tried to help.
Damp smell in room. No hot water in shower. Old creaky metal frame bed which made horrible noise every time you moved. Room located close to reception so constant noise of phone ringing and front door banging.

Location was perfect in terms of convenience. Clean. Safe parking
Room I stayed in was poor - could hear everything below through thin walls and ground floor ( room 1). Would not want to stay in that room again. No ventilation either as windows sealed.

ground floor room 1
no ventilation in room 1, all windows sealed

Beautiful old house with lots of atmosphere and very friendly staff

The staff were very welcoming and helpful. They gave us the large room next to the main entrance which our son loved :)
The location of the room made it a bit noise prone at night and also in the morning.

The hand soap holder was rusty
The toilet seat was hanging of

The breakfast was lovely but very over priced.
It was very run down… lots of poor repairs have been completed. Very disappointed.

This hotel offers the most exceptional value for money. Our stay was much preferable to the more expensive travelodge, and they did everything they could to make sure my daughter and I had a good stay in surprisingly comfortable twin beds, treating us as individuals rather than numbers. There was also a garden and lounge.

Nice and quiet hotel in a quiet area. Perfect location to visit London, Oxford and Windsor.

Beautiful building.

The parking was free
The hotel was outdated, and the bar and restaurant were closed and padlocked up. The reviews and bookings stated that the property was excellent. However, the room was to a poor standard, and the whole room needed some fresh paint.

The room set up was nice with nice touches. Bed and pillows were ok.
Breakfast was fine.
The gluten free bread was as cheap as they come. As always, we are regarded as 2nd class, and no effort is put into supplying decent gf bread to compensate for other parts of breakfast i cannot have.
Offer of a fruit juice would have been nice. I was not aware one could have FJ.
No heating on arrival and this was rectified.
No mirror above sink or anywhere else in bathroom except over bath.
Constant banging for 15 mins each time a neighbour had their extractor on.
Fridge waking me up regularly during night - I dont really see the point of the fridge, for the return it probably gives.
Main gripe was very average GF fish and chips. Very greasy fish and chips were soggy and overcooked, as if they had come from the bottom of pre made tray of chips.
On giving this feedback, the customer service was very poor. The guy acknowledged the feedback. I was looking for something to be done about the bill, as a valued customer. I mentioned that the chips should come of the bill as i could not eat them. His reply was that he could not take the chips off the bill and could not discount the whole bill ( which I was not asking for).
So for the sake of NOT doing something about the bill or offering a glass or whatever ( I would have declined, as I was not in need), he decided to leave it at that.
And for that reason, I will not be returning or will I recommend. They did alot right with the room and the place is lovely in looks and layout but that one very poor aspect of customer service has meant that they have lost, not just me, but my friends who were looking for somewhere around there, in August.
