Lovely cottage to stay in - clean, comfortable and in the middle of Bowness.
Nothing to not like but could just do with a dressing table in bedroom for doing hair/makeup etc but just a preference not a dislike
8.0
very easy access to places to visit
better access to toilet as it was very narrow and as I am disabled it was a little difficult

The cottage was just beautiful. It had everything you need. The location was excellent. Right in the middle of everything. The photos don't actually do it justice as it is much bigger in real life. I will definitely be returning. It was very good value for money.
You couldn't get the WiFi in one of the upstairs bedrooms, the room with the 2 single beds, however, this is apparently a common problem in the area as the walls in the cottages are very thick.

good location for all activities
there was a really off putting smell to start with which may be drains,Luckily we bought some plug ins and although it kept coming back it was bearable.I reported this so hopefully it will be dealt with as we stayed last year without any problems.

Just out of town,10 minute walk to jetty, lots of pubs and restaurants, good bus service bus stop just across the road.
Everything was fine 🙂

The cottage is in excellent location, central to the town, well furnished with everything you needed for your stay, including a starter pack of essentials in the kitchen; also has a nice little courtyard with a table and chairs
The bathroom could do with an upgrade, the electric shower wasn’t great at all, it was very hard to control the temperature

Situation was very good with parking outside the house.
Cramped bathroom.

easy to get to and central location for all of the shops and places to eat, clean with plenty of room to relax after a day out, just a short walk and you are down at the lake where you can get excursions round the lake,
never came across nothing we didn't like.

Perfectly situated in the town and a great base to explore the lake distrct.
The house was very clean and fully equipped as advertised for our stay.
We really enjoyed our stay thank you
Hit and miss with parking but a pay and display was very close anyway

I liked the TV and music box. The beds were very good. The interior decor was good
A supply of laundry liquid would have been good. Could have done with a blue recycling box

gorgeous cottage, lovely decor, everything we needed and in a great location

Good location, quiet and very comfortable. Well equipped kitchen.
Bathroom needs updating. No electric shaver points. Lack of dedicated parking proved to be an issue on a couple of occasions when we had taken the car out and we had to find a space in an adjacent street.

Covid secure check in. Very central location with an abundance of dining options literally on the doorstep. Mini market within a five minute stroll for the little essentials. Very quiet yet less than 10 yards from the high street!
The kitchen and the extremely large dining room were excellent. Bedrooms very spacious and main room double bed was very comfortable. Heating was excellent and the log burner a lovely little extra touch for these cold winter nights.
Bathroom was a disappointment in truth-very small and dated. Removing the bath and fitting a walk in shower would make this property exceptional. Very slippery when showering due to lack of an in bath shower mat. Lounge furniture could also do with an update and a bigger television for the longer dark evenings would also be an improvement. We were also surprised there was no second television in either bedroom. These small improvements/additions would move this property from 8 out of 10 rating to 11 out of 10 (yes-that good!) and the host could easily increase his rental charges significantly. Parking would be an issue in high season I would assume.

Location... eccellent
Very clean, tidy property.
Very comfortable furnishings.... beds sofa.
Kitchen very well equipped
Most spacious dining room I've ever come across in a holiday-let cottage
Parking... a bit of russian roulette.
Shower.... prefer if it was a power shower

Breakfast not applicable. Everywhere was clean, the decor pleasant and a plentiful supply of kitchen equipment. Clean bedding and towels.
We were unaware that a parking permit needed to be displayed and hence got a parking ticket. We suggest that along with key collection information it is made clear that a parking permit is to be found in a prominent position in the cottage and should be displayed at all times when vehicle is parked.

The location is excellent. You are right in the middle of Bowness with easy access to shops and restaurants, Lake Windermere and the nearby fells.
It’s also extremely well equipped, the kitchen has everything you would need, as does the living room and bathroom. There’s even a dishwasher, washing machine and dryer and a little outdoor courtyard space for having an evening glass of wine or even your breakfast coffee on a fine day.
The parking is a bit aggravating as spaces aren’t always available on the road outside the cottage, but it’s not the end of the world considering the location is so central.
Additionally, the central location is both good and bad depending on your point of view. We like busy towns but in August the place is heaving with people not bothering with social distancing or masks or even basic good manners (I felt a bit sorry for the local businesses).

Comfort and facilities of cottage
Very hilly plus pizza shop next door , parking was limited

Excellent location for walking.
Back garden had no chairs to sit at table and wasn’t appealing to sit in. Weeds and painting at front required.

The location of Rowan Cottage is an absolute winner. I knew exactly where it was from knowing and staying in Bowness quite a lot. On-street parking is difficult notwithstanding the parking permit in the property. Staycations means parking is at a premium so we paid £17.50 in the Lake Road Pay and Display for the duration of our stay.
No toiletries may be a negative for some people, we are fine as we travel a lot so are well prepared. Only having one loo roll and no spares in the property again slight negative but very minor and certainly does not outweigh the positives.

Very clean, fully equipped and comfortable and fantastic location.
Parking could be difficult

Great central location within walking distance of all that Bowness has to offer. Once all is open fully it will be a great place to stay. Lovely and warm after a cold days walking. All the usual home comforts. Management company contactable for any issues
Bed really comfy too. Parked outside with the house parking permit but not sure in peak season how much busier it will be
Needs a little tlc here and there but it has probably been closed for while due to covid. Just worth a mention - Water only keeps hot enough for showers and not to run a bath. Wouldn’t put me off staying again though
