The Host was friendly, and the room was quite cozy.
The windows don't close properly, also I'd have liked a trash can in my room.
My biggest complaint is about the hygiene. Kitchen sponges covered with mold, hair on the bed and the cutlery didn't look clean either.
The house is near, but not directly next to a big street and you can walk to the centre in about 10 minutes. Overall I'd say the location isn't bad, though there are better areas to live in Canterbury.

I liked and was comforted by the host gentleman who kindly collected me and conveyed me to the property in a disarmingly warm, friendly, easy-going manner, and then proceeded to inform me of all the facilities there in a kindly fashion which impressed. An asset. Though, the property was a bit out of the way, I found the room reasonably comfortable and relatively safe. Having access to more than one toilet, a living room and kitchen was a good bonus. And the property being situated a bit out of the way proved to be fine.
May sound or seem annoyingly or absurdly petty or trifling to complain about but the room wall-mounted television had atrocious reception - the picture quality was awful and lacking, and the television was too small. The toilet was at the end of the corridor, a bit far. And the opening and closing of doors could be a bit disconcertingly loud, particularly initially.

The room was clean, bedsheets were clean and crisp. Canterbury is small so its distance out of the centre is not an issue if you like walking or waiting for a bus. Adequate for a three night stay in which I prioritised day trips to Kent’s coast and eating out.
There is a kitchen but I did not feel comfortable using it - not the cleanest.
Seems most of the other guests are longer term guests / tradies - so lots of late night returns and early morning wake ups and, because the property has thin floors and walls - typical of its era as modern terraced planned housing - noise did travel.
Shower issues still don’t seem to have been resolved since two years ago in the comments - difficult to switch on, broken shower hose. Also the shared bathroom was clean enough but I didn’t like to linger. Felt more like a lived in student home than a professional property.
Mattress in room 4 has springs that protrude uncomfortably.
Maybe Kent can afford to put its prices up due to demand but I don’t think the price ultimately was reflective of the services available.

Nothing.
The accommodation should be avoided. While there are short term guests there are also long term guests. While I was staying there, one of the long term guests was a young boy who screamed, yelled and ran around the accommodation most of the day annoying all other guests. The host did nothing about it. Would definitely not recommend.

Not much
Inconvenient location. Hard to find accommodation. Had to search for the owner to find the key. Shared bathroom (as expected), but not even a wash basin in the room. Poor value for the price.

I really appreciated laundry facility. The kitchen had all the utilities I needed for a week's stay.
One window did not open at all and the other did not close completely

I liked how kind and easy the staff was to accommodate me, I arrived fairly late and forgot to ask for extending my stay two more days when I arrived. I did this the day after I hadx originally paid to be there and this was no problem, I just moved rooms which was understandable. The kitchen was nice and it was very quiet at night, not that I needed that, but if one needs that it is very good.
The shower dial was a little bit hard to turn on and change the temp, when I got soapy and my hands slippery, it was hard to get a good grip on it, but it worked after a while.

It is good location, walking distance to Main Street and supermarkets. Very friendly kind host.
The bedrooms are very close to each other and the bathroom is shared so just be aware of this when you book.

Location
The toilet was blocked for one of the guests and no one came to check
4.5
The host was very friendly, helpful, and responsive to my needs.
The room was very clean with good natural lighting.
The bed was super comfy.
The shower was clean and had great pressure and temperature.
Bathroom was mostly kept clean by residents.
Location easy to walk to from the city centre.
Walls were a bit thin but hardly uncommon among converted homes - bring earplugs.
The outer blanket looked a bit overused (but inner sheets very comfy and clean).

Good communication with the owner and if there were any problems he came to the property to sort it very quickly.
The set up is a HMO style property with each bedroom having its own lock and key and sharing bathroom and kitchen facilities which are nice. When I arrived there was a cleaner changing the sheets and towels in the bedroom and cleaning and tidying in the kitchen which made the whole place seem a lot nicer. Good location for the city centre and lots of supermarkets within walking distance too. Parking is on street in a small housing estate nearby.
The kitchen needs a deep clean after so many years of people coming and going and there was a slight security risk as the back door wasn't able to be locked when I first arrived but once I mentioned it to the owner he came over and sorted it (I think, I didn't actually check as I was leaving that morning). The walls are quite thin so if other guests are up early/late and making any noise you will hear them.
4.5
the professionalism and ease of accessibility
