Comfortable, clean, good location
Location was perfect, we booked a family room with en suite toilet. Comfortable and clean, great breakfast too.
All good. No issues

Reasonable for a night. I would book into a soulless modern hotel group next time though.
Great location. The cleaning lady who was new was a really helpful and friendly person, thanks. The continental breakfast and coffee were above average.
Old and tired. The beds were awful. The room was tiny. It was a last minute booking, so we were grateful to find a place a reasonable price, and this place is okay.

It was OK but I wouldn’t go back again
Very conveniently located. Large bathroom.
The mattresses were old, lumpy and uncomfortable. The room had an unpleasant smell when we arrived, although after keeping the window open all night and the next day, it was okay. The room and bathroom seemed clean, but the shower had a lot of mold along the inside shower door frame (in fairness, perhaps the cleaners haven’t noticed, because you can only see it from the inside with the shower doors closed). We never saw the owners/hosts at all. All communications were through email. The lady from the hotel next door checked us in. Breakfast was a do-it-yourself affair with packaged or wrapped goods and no one in sight to ask for anything if needed (for example, my coffee cup was dirty but I didn’t know where to get another one, and we wanted warm (not cold) milk for our son but didn’t know how to go about getting that), and we were instructed to just leave our key upon departure. A bit of human contact would’ve been nice.

I would want to stay here again if I return to Oban.
Breakfast was perfect - I preferred having a light breakfast rather than a heavy full breakfast. The location was quiet which I appreciated.

Passable
The location was decent, the town was very walkable from the street it's on.
This was advertised as a hotel, it's not. It's a B&B. The premises is poorly kitted out, it looks cheap. Examples include the steps down to our room, every time you walked on them the laminate planks were coming up. The room was clean, but the (laminate material) wardrobe door wouldn't close, beds were uncomfortable, mattresses were soft, cheap with no support. There were tea and coffee facilities in the room. We made a cup of both tea and coffee, which we couldn't finish, as there was a horrible taste to it. When we checked what the issue was, we found the UHT milk containers were out of date, by up to 15 months! Breakfast was continental, which is ok, but there was literally nothing fresh available such as some chopped up fruit, or even some in a bowl to grab. We were spending time in Scotland, and we paid way more for this than for hotels in Glasgow and Ayr that were of a standard way above this. I appreciate the tourist season is short in Oban, but there is no need to treat people like this, a little investment would go a long way and give a better experience.

Great place, cracking value in Oban.
Proximity to the town centre and the ferry terminal was perfect. Local to shops, pubs, places to eat, sights etc. Very clean, large comfortable rooms. Easy, friendly check-in. Continental Breakfast was great just the job. Would stay again.
No negative aspect to the stay, a brief 1 night stop-over.
