Location was perfect, we booked a family room with en suite toilet. Comfortable and clean, great breakfast too.
All good. No issues

Great location. The cleaning lady who was new was a really helpful and friendly person, thanks. The continental breakfast and coffee were above average.
Old and tired. The beds were awful. The room was tiny. It was a last minute booking, so we were grateful to find a place a reasonable price, and this place is okay.

Very conveniently located. Large bathroom.
The mattresses were old, lumpy and uncomfortable. The room had an unpleasant smell when we arrived, although after keeping the window open all night and the next day, it was okay. The room and bathroom seemed clean, but the shower had a lot of mold along the inside shower door frame (in fairness, perhaps the cleaners haven’t noticed, because you can only see it from the inside with the shower doors closed). We never saw the owners/hosts at all. All communications were through email. The lady from the hotel next door checked us in. Breakfast was a do-it-yourself affair with packaged or wrapped goods and no one in sight to ask for anything if needed (for example, my coffee cup was dirty but I didn’t know where to get another one, and we wanted warm (not cold) milk for our son but didn’t know how to go about getting that), and we were instructed to just leave our key upon departure. A bit of human contact would’ve been nice.

Breakfast was perfect - I preferred having a light breakfast rather than a heavy full breakfast. The location was quiet which I appreciated.

The location was decent, the town was very walkable from the street it's on.
This was advertised as a hotel, it's not. It's a B&B.
The premises is poorly kitted out, it looks cheap. Examples include the steps down to our room, every time you walked on them the laminate planks were coming up.
The room was clean, but the (laminate material) wardrobe door wouldn't close, beds were uncomfortable, mattresses were soft, cheap with no support.
There were tea and coffee facilities in the room. We made a cup of both tea and coffee, which we couldn't finish, as there was a horrible taste to it. When we checked what the issue was, we found the UHT milk containers were out of date, by up to 15 months!
Breakfast was continental, which is ok, but there was literally nothing fresh available such as some chopped up fruit, or even some in a bowl to grab.
We were spending time in Scotland, and we paid way more for this than for hotels in Glasgow and Ayr that were of a standard way above this. I appreciate the tourist season is short in Oban, but there is no need to treat people like this, a little investment would go a long way and give a better experience.

Proximity to the town centre and the ferry terminal was perfect. Local to shops, pubs, places to eat, sights etc.
Very clean, large comfortable rooms. Easy, friendly check-in.
Continental Breakfast was great just the job. Would stay again.
No negative aspect to the stay, a brief 1 night stop-over.

Didn’t eat breakfast although it was included apparently
Not very welcoming as nobody around and lights off in lounge, would have expected someone to be around at breakfast time but all dark and quiet

The breakfast was good.
I thought it was in a good location, it's away from the hassle and bustle of the main street but still close enough to walk everywhere.
Although I thought it was quite dated, it was lovely and clean so no complaints from me here.

The late check-in was easily arranged.
We asked for gluten free breakfast option, which were kindly provided for us.
The furniture in the room was not the newest, but completely fine and the bed was comfortable.
We never saw any of the staff and it was also hard to reach them via phone.
There was some moldy spots in the edge of the shower.

4.0 / 10.0
the lady that attends us, was so kind and gave all the explanations to us. Really kind.
one of the bed was broke down the mattres, or the locker that had a mirror with no location inside it. Or that the inside of the shower was not clean, or the security of the door, etc...needs a complety renovation.

location is the only good thing about it
furniture, everything is extremely run down, the main door with the access to the only bathroom on the floor was sooo noisy every time someone goes it wakes you up, breakfast is very basic which is ok but all the plastic that’s used for everything is unnecessary. there are better ways for it.
The mattress was horrible! the bed was horrible and had the filing it may fall apart, it’s same for the bedside cabinets… basically I will not stay there unless there is not other option and I will definitely let people to avoid this property by all means!
