About this apartment rental
A beautifully designed 3 bedroom / 2 bathroom apartment suited for a family of 6 traveling to NYC. Conveniently located off the L-train Morgan stop and JMZ-train Myrtle stop, a 15-minute train ride to Manhattan.
Bushwick is one of the most vibrant and creative neighborhoods in Brooklyn. Artist studios in converted warehouses and experimental cuisine is what put it on the map. Today it has a rich street art scene and bold murals capture your attention at every turn of the block. And also really great food.
FOOD
It was Roberta's, the renowned gourmet pizza spot that was early in the neighborhood and definitely played a part in putting Bushwick on the map. Just off the L Morgan stop and a 7 minute walk to the apartment, their Famous Original and Bee Sting pizza should not be missed. Blanca, is their teeny tiny Michelin-starred Chef's Table. Roberta's is just the beginning. Bunna, a short walk also has vegan Ethiopian food. Ichiran Ramen, the famed offshoot of Ichiran in Tokyo has their Ramen shop (and factory) a few minute's walk away. General Deb's is a casual Sichuan local spot for that mala tingly feel and fantastic Chinese food. Foster's Sundry, just 3 blocks from the apartment has some of the best selection of fine cheeses and produce a deli could have, let's not forget the butcher's at the back of the store making hand-made sausages and offering some of the best free-range meats in Brooklyn. Foster's also has great coffee, and you can have coldcuts and cheeses at the tables in the store, they also offer a good selection of sandwiches and other bites. Mission Chinese Bushwick is a 10-minute walk away from the apartment, Danny Bowien's famous Chong Qing wings are available here in a place that can only exist in Bushwick - a converted warehouse next to a club. Bunker, a destination Vietnamese restaurant is a 10-minute walk away, try any of their seafood dishes as they are excellent. Check out Honey's, the natural wine bar on the same block.
These are a few of the restaurants in the area, then there are the bars that Bushwick is known for from tiny local spots like Mad Tropical to bigger clubs like the House of Yes.
SHOPS
Brooklyn Naturals is the local grocery store with all your needs (though if you are looking for something gourmet and special then Foster's does the trick).
Diagonally across the apartment on Central is Henry's, a wine shop that has some of the best organic and natural wine selections in the whole city. The staff is also very helpful.
A block away still on Central is a French bakery, perfect for pastries for breakfast and cakes in the afternoon, their quiches are very good too.
Check out Beacon's Closet for a selection of great vintage just off the L Train.
ART and FILM
The area would not be complete without its galleries. Check out C-L-E-A-R-I-N-G for contemporary art in a vast space on the same block as Ichiran.
BEAUTY and WELLNESS
Local Honey, a 7-minute walk away is great for manis and pedis and other beauty treatments.
For families with children - there are a couple playgrounds in the neighborhood, one on Central a 2-minute walk away and another also on Central but a 5-minute walk away.
