The home was big enough for 4 women to each have a BR but most of the beds were upstairs where there was only one bathroom. Downstairs was one BR and two bathrooms. We were hoping to enjoy sitting on the two outside patios/porches but furniture on back porch was non existent and front porch was old and uncomfortable. The house itself needs much TLC. The issue we had with the leaking refrigerator was very quickly responded to by the contact provided.

The house is spacious, with four decks and lovely outdoor space. There is neighbors, you see as you pull in, but once at the property you feel miles away and secluded. I loved drinking my coffee watching the birds and rabbits in the meadow, and natural spring.
While the linens and beds could use updating, the magical atmosphere helped me forget about all that.

We stayed 5 nights in July 2024. We had 2 family groups plus grandma !
Everyone found a bed and room and no one was cramped. The house is centrally located. It’s very close to town and easy drive to lake Siskiyou…
There is a big table for eating together and playing games after diner. The kids enjoyed the hot tub and Netflix during their spare time, adults read books, did 1000 piece puzzle, drew pictures ..generally relaxed…
It was Fun for all and we voted to return next year !!

Beautiful setting for a fun family get together. Very close to town.

The house has an old time cabin feeling with log walls and wooden cabinets. It is a large property located very near to downtown, amid several rows of low-rise condo developments and a hospital. It is very near Highway 5; you can see and hear the highway from the back deck and hot tub. 3 bedrooms upstairs with one hall bath and a bedroom with en suite bath downstairs as well as a 3rd bath next to the living room. 2 car garage. Hot tub.

Stayed at this excellent home for the second year in a row, for a family ski vacation at Mt. Shasta. The house is beautiful, with a traditional wood cabin feel, and very well set up for a large family group. Would definitely recommend!

We thoroughly enjoyed our family visit at this property. We had a small wedding ceremony and the grounds and home were perfect for our family. We would definitely stay there again. The owner was very responsive when we had a small issue, and it was promptly resolved.

My family loved the feel of being in the woods but with the convenience of town close. Wildlife everywhere. Deer. A big buck. A friendly kitty and a huge raven. Hot tub was nice. Patios everywhere is also nice. People can spread out and not feel crowded at all. Lots of bathrooms. We really enjoyed our stay and look forward to maybe more trips to this beautiful area.

The property was clean, spacious, fine kitchen, close to town and quite a lovely setting. However, there were four women (50+) staying at the house and there was hardly any water pressure in the morning and none in the evening. They said they had lathered up their hair a couple times only to be stuck without water for rinsing. Also, no water when using washing machine. They said they contacted owner(s) but no one responded. Otherwise, they really liked the place. Note: I made the reservation and got link to comment; however, I was not able to go due to illness. Am reporting their comments.

We celebrated my husband's 70th birthday 🎂and three of our grandkids'
birthdays🎈🎁. We shared fabulous meals, stories and memories for 5 days. Cousins played, laughed and enjoyed special time together❤️ Our girls got to catch up with their busy lives raising our precious grandkids🤗
The layout of the house and property were perfect for our group. We loved the swing on the front porch enjoying the beauty and peacefulness of the area. We hope to come back again.

The place is nice and roomy. Love that they allow pets. There were a couple of clogged drains and shower in the master downstairs has a poopy Oder. Other than that they did give me a refund for one of the nights I requested, against their policy. Convenient and quick drive to swimming. I would recommend as a decent place to rent.

Had a wonderful stay here, property was beautiful and so was the home. Only downfall is it’s so close to the road and so very noisy at night. Other than that I would highly recommend!

Had a wonderful ski trip with kids and grandkids. This beautiful and rustic house is spacious and has all the amenities, including hot tub, foosball table in the garage, two dining tables, large fenced backyard, pond, fireplace, etc. When we were snowed in on our last day, the owner was very quick to respond and gave us a discounted rate for an extra night. Would definitely stay here again!

We booked this property for 3 families wanting to bring our kids to the snow. It was better than expected. Very spacious and room for everyone. Large kitchen and two tables. The rooms were large. Also a nice mudroom/ utility space from the garage to chang out of snow gear. My favorite was drinking my coffee in the front porch swing watching the sun rise. There is a large backyard fully fenced in. Nice location in town. Owners also have a large selection of board games. We definitely recommend and will rent this property again!

This house was wonderful for our needs. We had two families and plenty of space for all the kids to play. The hot tub was an amazing bonus. Will totally stay here again!!

Overall, we had a great stay at this property. The listing differs slightly with the type of beds available (e.g., the pull-out couch is broken and there are not twin beds), but the beds still accommodated the correct # of people.
The hot tub had been drained and took two full days to bring back up to temp, which was a bummer because we booked this location specifically because it had a hot tub.
The house is located in an odd spot, but it was very quiet, safe and felt secluded.
The house was roomy and had lots of space with three full bathrooms.

So relaxing
Beautiful well equipped spacious home and property. We also brought our 2 dogs so it was nice to have the big backyard for them. Hot tub was so nice to have in the evenings to relax in. Also great location near town and beautiful walking trail next to the home by a creek. Property owners were quick to respond to any questions. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it

This was the best most memorable vacation I’ve ever had.
The house was beautiful. The house was very well supplied. The furniture could be updated a little bit and the carpet could be cleaned in the living room but you know what it wasn’t enough to keep the memories away thank you for such a great place to stay

Girls weekend
Want to start off with the lovely size and location of the cabin. Was perfect for the amount of people we had. I was initially very happy with the place. We started to notice that the place was definitely not thoroughly cleaned, and looked like it had been sometime since rugs had been replaced, floors were cleaned properly, and overall dusting had been done. The living room was cozy, but furniture was very old and ottomans had some old staining. Even after following directions, the hot tub never became hot enough to use as well.
There was a broken pull out sofa bed upstairs, which I thought was not ok. I did inform owner and she did respond and say she would alert maintenance. We did arrive a bit early to a cleaning person who had a heavy load to clean, so we left and came back about an hour after check in time. The place smelled heavily of pot even after it was cleaned, with a lingering smell of cigarettes as well throughout the place.
On the plus size, having 3 bathrooms was a definite plus, beds were comfortable, especially the downstairs master, and kitchen had what we needed. The owner was very pleasant, and we all had a beautiful time.

Mixed review
It was ok and if I didn’t have allergies and care about cleanliness and a nice master bathroom shower, I would stay again but I do so unfortunately I couldn’t return. It was a decent price for the size of the home but they really need to deep clean once in a while. The walls had so much dust caked on and in the master that dust was right above my head bothering me.
Here are the pros and cons:
Pros:
Great amount of land and grass space for kids to play
Cool hammock
Dishes clean, bathroom clean, furniture clean
House size and layout
Board games for kids
Terrific outside seating
Comfortable beds and couch but dirty old chairs in living room
Great dining table
Table soccer in garage was a win for kids
Very close to downtown by car
Great view of Shasta from front and loved the chair swing on the porch
Cons:
Kind of creepy location in between low rent condos and freeway noise - not the quiet getaway feel
Not very clean floors and walls / dusty - gave us allergies
Master shower very narrow if you're not super thin and small framed
Strange layout downstairs
*Can’t rate the spa as we never used it but nice location outside hone and hear a bathroom

Impeccable vacation home
Better than expected, pictures do little justice. Outdoor areas are awesome, and so are the indoor. There are two full kitchens, which was really accommodating when you have 10+ people, especially the dishwasher.

Lack
Need to replace china ware as muvh of it was chipped. Especially with COVID you need to change the air filters - they were filthy. Downstairs furniture was not clean - if you allow pets recommend leather. Hot tub took full 24 hiurs to heat up. Downstairs bedroom had filimsy cheap sheets amd bed squeakef. For the anount charged the plsve could have been maimtained better

Convenient
This was a very lovely location. I am already trying to figure out when we can return. The home was clean and tidy. The space is well designed for a group. There are lots of conversation spaces and opportunities for different activities. Kitchen has almost everything you need except mixing bowls. I would highly recommend for a peaceful and fun vacation. Especially well suited for families.

We enjoyed our Christmas stay so much! Beautiful cabin. We woke up to a White Christmas!
Overall wonderful. Lovely cabin. We had a few issues. Neither oven worked without smoking. We are thinking a cleaning product since it happened to both? We didn’t use either. Left a note at the cabin.

Beautiful home away from home
This house is BEAUTIFUL with a roomy kitchen, well-equipped with nice silverware, dishes, pots and pans. Some of the utensils and pots needed a little extra scrub, but otherwise the home was perfectly clean. Beds were comfy, plenty of seating, and we especially love that there were 2 dining tables so kids and adults could have their own conversations. We did not feel cramped at all and loved just relaxing and felt at home. The nightly bear visit was a little scary but gave the kids a good story to tell their friends. Would love to stay here again - thank you for the memorable trip!

Spectacularly Magical
This was a most pleasant stay! The outdoors is beautiful. Deer visited us Daily. And my wife and I were able to have a very intimate wedding ceremony that was more perfect than we could have imagined. The host was very accessible with any questions and requests. This was a week we’ll never forget and the location and host were a big part of that.

Retreat
The house set up is great and offers plenty of room for larger gatherings. The communications with the owners were easy and positive. We were surprised to find the floors and windows were quite dirty when we arrived; this was disappointing considering the cleaning fee we payed. The counters need to be sealed. All this said, the house has a really great charm and we would likely stay there again.

Positives: this place is huge, more than enough for the five of us adults who enjoyed our stay there. It was good to have two tables for dining… As we used one to spread out old family photos to go through and the other for all of our meals. There are plenty of games available for indoor play. The kitchen is huge, conducive to several people cooking together. There is a small room behind the kitchen that has a second refrigerator, microwave, additional stove, washer dryer. There were plenty of options for sleeping accommodations. The wildlife “show” outside the big picture window is so very enjoyable. Seven or eight deer greeted us each morning. A bazillion birds entertained us. We fully enjoyed nearby walking trails, especially the city park at the headwaters. Even a drive to Siskiyou Lake for a picnic was delightful. We truly enjoyed Shasta City…a very quaint town only minutes away by car. And all of this in the middle of Covid and the smoke from California and Oregon fires. Things that could’ve been better: The oven does not close all the way, nor does the refrigerator seal tightly. There are tons of nice lighting options which means there are lots of light switches and it took us a very long time to figure out which switch worked which set of lights. It became kind of a fun game every night to figure out which switch turned on and off each light. LOL. The knobs on the table lamps are missing making it hard to turn some of those on. Just be aware that the decks outside are very weathered. Don’t walk barefoot on them. Be sure to look for the house notebook. We were unaware that there was one…silly us. We went four days not knowing the Internet password. However… That’s probably not a bad thing. It caused us to enjoy each other more. We do wish that the communication had been better with the owner. Even before going, it took quite a while to get in touch with her. We do realize these are hard times though and we don’t know what might’ve been going on in her world. It just takes a few days to hear back regarding any questions. We are also not super experienced VRBO users...perhaps this is normal.
