THE IMMEDIATE AREA
You could not be in a better, more central and convenient location to hit up some of Paso's most prestigious wineries on the famed Westside. You are just 3 minutes to downtown Templeton, 7 minutes to downtown Paso and 30 minutes to other Central Coast destinations: Cambria, Pismo Beach, and downtown San Luis Obispo. There is easy access to 101, which makes your day trips a breeze.
PROVISIONS
Trader Joe's is a half mile away along with J & R Meats which offers local grass-fed beefs and other meats. In the same shopping plaza is Pier 46, the area's top fish market and restaurant and Merry Hill Coffee shop for you java junkies. In downtown Templeton is Nature's Touch Nursery & Harvest, a fully-organic grocery store with provisions from local farmers. Larger grocery stores include Albertson's and Food For Less, both about 7 miles in either direction off the 101.
RESTAURANTS
For a small town, Templeton provides lots of eating out options. McPhee's is top on the list and perfect for that special occasion. Ian (McPhee) cooks up fantastic farm-to-table fare. Other local flavor includes K’s Kitchenette and Ja (wood-fired cooked burgers, salads and lots of TVs for viewing sports). Enjoy a glass of wine and an appetizer or cheese platter at 15 Degrees Wine Bar before or after dinner. To start your day, you can't go wrong with Joe's for an All-American breakfast or The Kitchen for a bit more gourmet breakfast or lunch delicacies.
After you've exhausted the Templeton restaurants, the Paso restaurants are also outstanding. What's your pleasure: Italian, Irish, French, Mexican, Asian, Argentinean, Organic or Seafood? Paso has them all and more. There's even a new Speak Easy in town, called Eleven Twenty-Two. You're in wine and foodie heaven.
ACTIVITIES
There is so much to do on the Central Coast. Of course there is wine tasting and wine events. But once the taste buds need a break, there are so many other activities near by. Golf anyone? Paso Robles Golf Course is a great course for the novice. The more serious golfer might try Hunter Ranch. There are dozen other courses around the area as well. While the guys are golfing there are plenty of spas for the ladies for a day of beauty treatments. Take in a concert at the Vina Robles Amphitheater. There is not a bad seat in the gorgeous 2500 seat music venue. For the more adventurous types, there are plenty of hiking trails and a zip line to amp up the adrenaline.
Venture out to the local towns. Go antiquing in Cambria. Visit the Elephant Seals and Hearst Castle in San Simeon. Collect shells on Moonstone Beach. Drive an ATV on the beach at the Oceano Dunes. Check out the fantastic Farmer's Markets - Saturdays in downtown Templeton and Thursday nights in San Luis Obispo. Days of endless fun awaits you on the Central Coast.

We were in search of a nice place, uncrowded, and a little unique. This stay checked all of our boxes ranging from deer in the front yard, to horses hanging out in their area, to a perfectly clean residence. My wife and I spent (2) delightful nights. I would come back in an instant if the situation presented itself. Brian

We sold our home and had 30 days prior to moving in to our new home. Hosts were very helpful with letting us store a few extra boxes and things. Location was great. Only complaint was the extra bed. Our children couldn't sleep due to the old age - def needs to be replaced. Besides that very happy we could stay long term here

Quiet and peaceful
We very much enjoyed are stay at the Red Barn Loft. It was clean, comfortable and well appointed. My communication with the host (Kathy) was exceptional, she was prompt to respond to my questions and was very informative. The setting was very quiet and peaceful with easy access the 101. We especially enjoyed seeing the herd of deer and chickens on a daily basis. There are many wonderful wineries within minutes and the town of Templeton had everything we needed including excellent restaurants. We will not hesitate to book the red barn loft the next time we are in the area. Thanks Kathy!

Red Barn
Run down, needs a deep clean, bath mat clearly used several times by other guests and not changed. Had issues with lighting, propane ran out. Just lacking attention to details.

Restful week in the countryside
A little peace and quiet what just what we needed at this Barnhouse Loft experience. This place was comfortable and provided all the creature comforts necessary for kicking back and relaxing. Beds were inviting and added to long restful nights. The kitchen provided just what we needed for a few great meals when we weren't looking for gourmet haunts in Paso or Cambria. The most fun we had though was greeting the chickens and roosters at sunrise. They were a regular visit to the yard beneath us, and seemed glad that we were there. All in all, this was a much needed getaway for our family, and we enjoyed every minute of our stay.

Excellent Country Atmosphere
My family had a great week. The unit has beautiful country views from all the windows, their is a BBQ and large outdoor dining area for eating outdoors or to enjoy the beautiful evening skys. Everything deserves 5 stars with the only acceptation that some of the furniture needs to be replaced. One of the beds is great and feels like it's brand new, and the trundle also is very good, but the other bed sags terribly and needs to be replaced (and I'm just normal size). The cushions on the dining chairs also need to be replaced since you feel the wood frame when seated. If those items are addressed I'd stay here again next year since all the other aspects of the unit are great.

Nice stay
Nicely secluded in a quiet private neighborhood. We saw cows and chickens right outside the barn, so that's pretty cool. Can see the stars from the patio. Highly recommended.

Quiet and private
The rental shares an address with the owners property, but is situated privately and we had plenty of our own space. We enjoyed watching the sunset and greeting the deer in the morning. I’d recommend this listing.

Excellent country barn loft getaway
Everything we needed to relax during Spring break - Quiet solitude surrounded by nature with beautiful sunsets and peaceful mornings.
Great Location: not too far from grocery stores, beaches, wineries, and San Luis Obispo.
Appreciate their Red notebook listing out local services, (hospital, fire), restaurants, wineries, stores.
Added bonus was having our furry child accompany us on vacation and enjoy walking around this wonderful farming community.
If you want to catch up on movies, don't forget to bring your log on credentiala for Netflix, Hulu, etc.
Very pleased with the accomodations. Highly recommend to stay and hope to return back. Thank you Kathy/Templeton for a wonderful respite!

Excellent Location for Paso Robles, San Luis Obispo, Morro Bay
Our family went to the Red Barn during my middle school son's spring break. We were within about a half hour or less from all of our destinations around the Central Coast and Paso Robles wine country, and enjoyed our time there immensely. The rental itself was excellent, comfortable in a quiet area while close to important amenities, such as Trader Joe's. A quiet, relaxing place.

The property is exactly like the pictures. It is peaceful and quiet. It was perfect for a getaway from LA. The place is close to town but it still feels like you are far away from everything. The check in process was smooth and we had zero issues getting in and getting out. We really enjoyed our time at the barn!

Fantastic stay at a lovely farmhouse
We loved our stay in this farmhouse. Our first night here we sat on the balcony and watched the sunset as it set over the beautiful fields around the house. We will definitely be coming back.

Lovely spot in the country!
We had a terrific time at the little res barn. It was clean and comfortable. The perfect getaway. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a place to get away from all the noise and to relax. It was the perfect location to visit Morro bay and Paso. We had a very nice time in Templeton too! It was close to shops but felt like we were far away from the hustle and bustle.
