Casale Amati, La Marchesa was born in an ideal geographical context, close to the sea, the Cinque Terre, Versilia, the Apuan Alps, the Carrara quarries, important historical cities such as Sarzana, Lerici, Lucca, Pietrasanta, Pisa, Florence.
In 1300 d. C. there was already a water mill. A source of pure water allowed the movement of the heavy stone millstones and the gears used for the production of a fragrant oil produced with olives ripened in the sun on the surrounding hills. The Marquis Amati, owner of the oil mill and of the land, decided to live in this splendid place and began the expansion of the oil mill, the complete transformation into housing units by the Marquis's heirs took place in the second half of the 1900s. The renovation, done with love and respect for the original style and characteristics, wanted to preserve many of the unique and fascinating features, so much so that inside the structure you can still admire many of the peculiarities and ancient authentic furnishings.
Outside, 7000 square meters of land surround Casale Amati, with vineyards, olive trees, fruit trees, walnuts and hazelnuts able to offer a quiet privacy and regenerate the spirit in a natural environment full of charm.

Familienurlaub mit 3 Kindern in “la marchesa “
Wir hatten einen wunderschönen Aufenthalt in “ la Marchesa“ mit unseren drei kleinen Kindern.
Das Haus ist familiär , stilvoll und gefüllt mit Atmosphäre und Liebe - man merkt dass es ein Familiensitz ist u kein seelenloses Ferienhaus. Die Besitzerin i ihr Mann hat uns mit den Kindern persönlich, sehr angenehm u warmherzig empfangen.
Vorher hatten wir anhand der Bilder ( die wunderschön aber ja leider keine Titel / Erklärungen haben ) uns nicht alles im Zusammenhang vorstellen können , aber es erfüllte genau unsere Erwartungen!
Das Haus liegt am Hang und die Wohnung liegt im 1. Stock von wo aus man auch man auch auf die herrliche Terrasse und in den Garten gelangt .
Allerdings liegt das Haus direkt an einer zwar kleinen , aber sehr befahrenen Straße - die Einheimischen rasen hier unglaublich. Es ist dennoch ruhig im Haus u Garten , aber wir waren mit den Kindern kaum aus dem Haus.
Was zum einen auch daran liegt , dass das Haus nicht im Ort mit Ortskern liegt sondern unterhalb des alten Ortskern Ortonovo u oberhalb von Casano . aber sicher auch daran dass es so unglaublich entspannt u schön im Garten und der Terrasse an dem riesigen Marmortisch war .
Der Garten war wunderbar für die Kinder um dort im Schatten der Olivenbäume zu spielen ( vielleicht war der Nachbargarten von dem Teil “ la machine “ noch verwunschener u schöner ) . Die Mücken haben dort allerdings auch heftig zugeschlagen .. unsere Kinder hat es nicvt gestört :)
Auch wenn es mir etwas gefehlt hat mal einen Spaziergang vom Haus durchs Ortszentrum machen zu können , haben wir den Aufenthalt sehr genossen u die Lage eignet sich bestens für Ausflüge wie zb nach Pisa o.ä.
Das Meer / Strand ist mit dem Auto auch schnell erreicht .

Federica was at the house when we arrived. We had a very good communication with her. If we had some quistions we send a message at the phone and she answered right away.

Un piccolo angolo di Paradiso
Le foto non rendono giustizia, abbiamo avuto un'accoglienza e una disponibilità incredibili, la casa è grande e molto bella ricavata all'interno di un vecchio frantoio. Lo consiglierei a chiunque abbia voglia di comodità, tranquillità ma anche di avventura e curiosità.

Uno stimolo per la mente e per il corpo
E' stato un soggiorno ricco di stimoli, la posizione geografica sulla costa tirrenica tra Liguria e Toscana ci ha permesso di alternare giorni di full immersion in natura nelle splendide 5Terre a giorni di turismo classico nelle città di Pisa e Lucca.
L'appartamento, ricavato in un antico frantoio medievale , é ampio e spazioso e l'idea di lasciare intatte le macine e gli ingranaggi del vecchio frantoio contribuisce a creare un'atmosfera veramente unica.
Il podere all'esterno é ricco di verde e dotato di angoli accoglienti , un vera pacchia per la pigrizia!

Bellissimo casale in zona magnifica
Il nostro soggiorno presso Casale Amati è stato un bellissimo weekend di relax, alla scoperta della Lunigiana.
La posizione del casale, immerso nel verde e con uno spazioso giardino con tavolo e area barbecue, è perfetta per esplorare la zona tra Liguria e Toscana. Federica, la proprietaria, è stata disponibile e ci ha dato molti suggerimenti per la nostra breve vacanza.
L'antico frantoio è affascinante e conservato molto bene: la casa, adatta ad un gruppo di 5-7 persone, conserva il fascino di un'antica residenza di campagna (caminetto e lavandino in marmo in cucina, stufa a legna, tavoli in legno e culle in vimini!) pur essendo molto comoda e accogliente.

Davvero una bella sorpresa..Questo antico Frantoio ha una atmosfera unica e , garantisco introvabile...Quelle scale di ingresso lasciano davvero a bocca aperta. Abbiamo fatto amicizia poi con Federica, ottima padrona di casa, premurosa ed attenta...
Il casale si trova a pochi km dalle 5 terre, da Sarzana (che consiglio,una piccola perla) , dalle Cave (spettacolo unico),ad 40 minuti da Lucca (imperdibile), ad 1 ora da Firenze.
Lo consiglio ,e l'ho consigliato ad amici e parenti.

Sopra le aspettative.
Il vecchio frantoio è davvero grande e particolare, la parte con gli ingranaggi in castagno e le macine di pietra è molto suggestiva. La casa è elegante e ben attrezzata con molti confort, abbiamo potuto utilizzare anche il nostro account di Netflix!
Siamo stati fortunati, il tempo era soleggiato, così abbiamo potuto fare una bella passeggiata a Lerici e a Tellaro. Se decidete di soggiornare in questo posto vi consiglio una cena alla Bisteccheria di Ortonovo!

La padrona del Casale deve essere una reincarnazione della Marchesa, si chiama Federica ed è una donna bellissima e piena di attenzioni.
Il Casale è davvero suggestivo, un edificio storico, recuperato in modo sapiente e rispettoso della sua storia, ed è curato in ogni particolare.
La posizione è strategica, ottima per visitare sia le Cinque Terre sia tutta la costa nord della Toscana.
Insomma se non si fosse capito, lo consiglio!

Unforgettable birthday party in La Marchesa
We were quite a big party with 6 adults who came to celebrate my birthday in La Marchesa. Such a beautiful house with a lot of space! Large bedrooms, kitchen and not least the wonderful barbecue garden. The house has a working Wifi which for us was important.
From Ortonovo it is easy and close to reach Cinque Terre, La Specia, Pisa and Via Reggio. One day we went out to Tuscany, eat lunch in the wonderful Vignamaggio (birthday house of Mona Lisa) and spend some hours in Florence.
After intense excursions coming back to the quiet place and bird songs in La Marchesa, felt very luxurious. Highly recommended accommodation.

Tolles Haus, authentisch, wunderschöner Garten
Sehr sauberes Haus mit 3 Ferienwohnungen, jede für sich genial , super eingerichtet.
In der Beschreibung sind aber alle Bilder von den 3 Wohnungen durcheinander , so dass man nicht weiß welche Wohnung wie aussieht.
Wir wussten bis zur Ankunft auch nicht welche wir bekommen. Für kleinere Kinder bedingt geeignet, da viele Stufen und die Haustüre ist direkt an der Strasse.Viele Stechmücken.
Die Vermieterin ist sehr nett und hat viele Tipps

Wunderschön!
Wir waren mit unseren drei Kindern in "le macine". Schon beim Betreten des Hauses waren wir verzaubert. Alles ist sehr liebevoll eingerichtet und man merkt, dass die alte Mühle Federicas Herzblut ist.
Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und auch unsere Kinder hatten im großen Garten sehr viel Auslauf und haben am Mühlenbach fantastisch gespielt. Kleiner Hinweis: für jüngere Kinder (unsere jüngste ist vier) halten wir das Haus nur bedingt geeignet. Unsere konnten sich frei gewegen, aber kleinere Kinder (bis mind. 2) sollte man noch gut im Auge behalten wegen der alten Mühlenteile, offene Fenster in andere Räume hinein, Mühlenbach...
Federica ist eine warmherzige, sehr engagierte Gastgeberin, die uns jederzeit mit Rat und Tat zur Seite stand.
Man braucht auf jeden Fall ein Auto für diese Gebend. Wir fanden die Strände jetzt im Sommer sehr voll. Aber es gibt sehr viele Ausflugsmöglichkeiten.
Die Mühle als Feriendomizil würden wir auf jeden Fall weiterempfehlen, sie ist wunderschön!

Too expensive for what you get
Charming house, but in a very noisy street with a lot of traffic even during night.
Dark, small rooms, doesn't match with the pictures on the website.
The house is very unpractical and inappropriate for children. The sinks are unpractical and dirty ( not a joy for doing the dishes) and the only toilet is in the small shower room which has no mirror above the sink. Poor internet connection and TV not working.
The house is too small for 5 persons.
We had to do the dishes upon arrival because all were dirty. The excursion tips provided by the owner turned out to be pretty expensive versus on site alternatives. All in all we were very disappointed

Un luogo magico
Abbiamo passato un lungo week end fuori dal tempo, la casa è splendida: una cornice antica con tutti i comfort che hanno reso la nostra vacanza indimenticabile! Ogni stanza è curata nei minimi particolari e il giardino si presta per favolosi pranzi all'aperto.

Casa elegantemente ristrutturata immersa in un incantevole giardino, a pochi passi dalla costa e dalle maggiori attrazioni culturali presenti nel territorio. Posto consigliato è sicuramente, appena posso, tornerò con i miei figli, per farli giocare nuovamente in mezzo al verde e in un posto sicuro.

Eccellente struttura in un antico ex frantoio a due passi dal mare. Ottimi e curati gli appartamenti, arredati con gusto e forniti di ciò che è necessario. Mi sono trovato veramente bene ed accolto come in famiglia. La gentilissima proprietaria ci ha messo a disposizione due appartamenti che rispettavano perfettamente le caratteristiche pubblicizzate. Molto vicini i paesi Nicola e Ortonovo da dove si gode una bellissima vista sul mare e dove si possono trovare ristoranti dove assaggiare la cucina locale. Insomma cosa volere di più......se avrò occasione tornerò sicuramente al Casale Amati.

Arriving in the Casale Amati house was like coming home.
The ancient olive oil mill is just amazing if you love a characteristic place to stay with a natural surroundings in a non-touristic little village. Our children loved the charming property as there were so many things to disover in and around the house. The vineyard behind the oil mill, the natural watercourse, the covered terrace and the roomy accomodation make Casale Amati to a perfect hideaway for families.

Perfect place for exploring Liguria
We had a wonderful week staying in Frantoio Ingoletti at Casale Amati. The apartment has been beautifully and very tastefully restored by Federica and Enrico and the property is in a great location for exploring the area around the Cinque Terre, Lucca, Pisa, Florence, north west Tuscany etc. Federica was so kind and welcoming and helped us with any queries we had and went out of her way to make sure our stay was as enjoyable as possible. Highly recommended!

Our family of four had a wonderful stay at Casale Amati, in the Frantoio Ingoletti part of the building, during the school holidays of October/November. The holiday home has been lovingly restored, with beautiful attention to detail and personal touches, old and new. An added bonus for us, as the sun shone all week, was the garden area. Federica responded attentively to all of our enquiries during our stay. The location was perfect for us, close to several sandy beaches and the picturesque seaside towns/villages of San Terenzo, Lerici and Tellaro and also close to the Tuscan countryside, with the mystical Isola Santa village a stunning drive away and, of course, Lucca. This location would equally suit people wanting to visit Cinque Terre, Pisa and Florence. Thank you for a lovely stay, highly recommended!

Our experience with the Casale Amati Country Home was as we hoped. The location is right at the foot of the mountains and hills, with great walking to a mountain top town with ice cream and architecture. There is a path next to a clear stream just across the street that appears to have fish in a remote pool just up the trail and in the woods. A few minute away by car, there is a winding road with a fantastic view of the Golfo della Spezia where we went swimming on a nice little beach in Poets Bay, Lerici. The garden in the back is set up so you can eat in a little nook next to a narrow channel of running water that powered the old olive press years ago. We are a family of six that had been traveling for nearly four months and found the interior completely unique, welcoming, and more than enough room for all of us. There is a safe private parking spot within 20 feet of the front door. Our hostess was very responsive to any questions and provided great recommendations for the area. This was a perfect finish to a long trip. We recommend this place if you are looking for somewhere that is just a couple of minutes off the busy trail, but within five minutes to everything you need and want in a place to stay. A unique place that I think the kids will remember for a long time.

The apartment was spotlessly clean, beautifully furnished and decorated and was well placed to see Cinque Terre, Cararra, Pisa and Lucca. The country like setting and history of the house as an old olive oil mill greatly added to the ambiance of our holiday. I couldn't recommend this accomodation highly enough."
