Perfect location and clean room

Aurora Camp is a tranquil place amidst nature, located right next to a beautiful and large lake (Torne river, actually). It has a lot of potential, most probably during the winter months when you can see northern lights. However, we came here in August when the place felt a bit abandoned. Our room (Wilderness Suite) had a functional kitchen, modern bathroom and private sauna (which we didn't use tho). We liked the oven in the room and also the outside BBQ area. The shared saunas (there were no other guests) were really nice too, with a beautiful view at the waterfront. After taking a sauna, we enjoyed a swim in the lake (which is very cold). WIFI was perfect.
More towels would have been nice (e.g. one for shower, one for sauna). Washing the dishes in the small bathroom sink was a bit inconvenient. The Wilderness Suite is poorly soundproofed, so you can hear everything your neighbours are saying/doing. The Relax Room was not very relaxing or cozy - it smelled like plastic. Mosquito repellent is absolutely vital at this place. Unfortunately, the camp doesn't provide or sell any. But why not?!

The location was fine, the common shower and the relax rooms were nice
Photos showed that the room has a TV, a microwave, double deck room etc. All of these were missing. The room should have had a wifi. The device was there but the network name was different, the password written in the device did not work either. In many other ways one could see that the place is not taken care very nicely and everything is falling apart. As one insident only, the reception building burned down the day before! The place is OK to stay for one night, but not not with this price, the correct price should have been 50% less, at least.

After the first night, we decided to extend our stay to two nights at Aurora Camp Kurravaara in July to make the most out of the wonderful camp site. Overall, the experience was amazing! The Wilderness Suite was extremely cozy and it even had a wooden sauna! The location was good and the views at the Torne river were astonishing.

The Panorama cabin was amazing! We loved the view and the cabin was very cozy. The location was pleasant and peaceful. There are blinds to block out the sun in summer. Also a mosquito net on the door.
Staff was nice. They sent us a very detailed message about our stay. It also had a map that helped us find the cabin.
When we reserved the cabin it said there is no fridge, but there actually was one! Nice surprise. Panorama room has a dry toilet but you can also use a water toilet that is near to the cabin. There was bedding ready in the cabin.
Also take your swimwear with you! The water is very tempting.
The surroundings were messy and still in progress probably.
The road leading to the area was in very bad shape and a little scary to drive. Sharp rocks and holes in the ground, so be prepared!
There was no microwave even if it was supposed to be in the commonroom kitchen.
The commonroom shower and toilet was not in good condition.
Maybe the message about arriving to the cabin could have been a bit clearer.
In the summer the cabin heated up during the night. It was so hot! So if you dare sleep with the door open.

Close to Kiruna, but already deep in nature. The camp offers a very comfortable room with your own bathroom (and sauna). Close a big lake, with the midnight sun right above.
