Great Stay

Lovely decor & spotlessly clean ,we stayed in the spacious Deluxe suite 1 .Huge bathroom with a great bath & shower .Bed was very large & comfy . Sofa in sitting area was comfy & could be made up into a bed if wanted .lots of sockets & a mini fridge with fresh milk .kettle ,tea,coffee & sugar ,top up with more if required by asking Grace was very chatty & helpful with anything we needed Breakfast was asked for in advance of staying via email ,& was just what we needed to start the day ,worth the extra charge Would definitely recommend. Thank you Grace for a wonderful stay

Luxurious.

The Hotel is managed by Larna who is exceptional and ensures you have a comfortable stay. Larna not only prepares the rooms to a high level of cleanliness but she also provides one of the best breakfast's in Torquay. Best described as a boutique Hotel, we really enjoyed our stay.

Nicely located to all attractions however this is uphill so please bare this in mind.

Easy to find, friendly staff and only a 10-15 minute walk to the harbour.

Quite dated inside and the bathroom could use an update.

Great hotel, enjoyed our stay very much

Great location, was upgraded foc to a better room.

Car parking was very tight. The bollards between Ascot house and the adjacent hotel made parking very difficult when the steep driveway was wet. It's the only thing which would prevent a return visit. At the very least the bollards should be removed.

Parking on a very deep hill but manageable. Needed access for Disabled guest.

The drive way was very steep. The owner was very friendly and the bed was very comfortable.

Would have been nice if the breakfast was included in the price and not ten pound each.

Close to the centre of Torquay (20mins walk)which was ok

The room needs updating ,living room ceiling paper coming down ,black mould in sealer around bath. Got locked in the room twice due to faulty Yale lock on door, NO STAFF ON SITE to help ,owner had to phone neighbour to get us out,the same happend the next day but I got myself out by using a spoon to move the lock. Seen 1 member of staff for 3 mins to check us in ,then saw no one else for rest of the stay. Very disappointing !!!!

Lovely rooms with unique features. Great location within walking distance to beach, bars and restaurants. Lovely host and staff. Great breakfast.

the room is nice and spacious the bed is comfy and plenty of wardrobe space

there is a strange smell in bathroom like a sewage smell we weren’t offered breakfast at extra cost no mention of breakfast at all the dressing table in bedroom the chair is wobbly and for someone who uses heated tools on hair no plug so had to take mirror of wall and do it in living space which wasn’t issue just defeats having a dressing table in bedroom

had a lovely stay.

building nice, inviting. decor is nice and smells lovely when you walk in. Very spacious room with a living room. Bed is super comfortable!

car park is very small and steep. smell of drains (could be the bins beneath the balcony as that’s where you smell it when sitting on the balcony) can also smell it walking up to the entrance. Bit off putting when sitting outside. bathroom bin hadn’t been emptied before we checked in. t.v didn’t work on the last night, kept saying no signal. highly recommend a bath matt for the bath as it is very slippy! a fan would be good for the room as it got very very hot and muggy.

Very good

Bedroom sitting room with fridge and bathroom with both bath and walk in shower. The breakfast was good and you could have what you wanted, but you needed to say the day before. It was very clean and friendly. It's a antique style furnished hotel all done with real charm.

My only remark would be to have better duvet pillows and cushions. It's the small things that count and make a room perfect.

Ascot house is a beautiful place and it is 10 minutes away from the town and close to the harbour/beach , everything you need at close proximity

We found the driveway a little bit hilly to drive into and walk down, but never the less we took it slow.we also found that the fridge was difficult to reach as it was on the floor.
