It was fine. We did not know another rental lodging is connected to this one - this should be made clear in the description. We could hear the other guests clearly while indoors, and had booked this spot to get away from other people. We would not have booked this had we known this would be a shared property.
Listing is overall out of date and should be updated to show current interior and exterior. Outdoor area is not as depicted.
Pros - very comfortable bed, easy check in and check out, and responsive host.

Property is a little more rustic than I’m used to. Spaces are a bit tight around furniture etc. Not a bad stay and not inaccurate description. It was just a little more rustic feeling than I realized from the pictures. Walked to Sundancer grill. Very nice setting and good food.

It was the perfect place for my wife and I. She liked how clean and nice it was inside. The bed is very comfortable and the A/C gets the room ice cold. Yes, it is a shed that has been converted to a cozy living area, but it had everything we needed. The location is very convenient to all attractions around the area. Everything outside of Lake Travis was a 10-20 minute drive. We will definitely be booking another stay here!

Had all the essentials for a quick trip for a conference. Felt safe being in a neighborhood. Simple and clean, the casita was exactly as pictured. The only things I noticed were that I was not messaged with check in/check out instructions so I had to be proactive about that, but the hosts responded right away, which I appreciate. There also appeared to be some bugs/spiderwebs in the corners and some dog hair on the some of the flat surfaces. I was able to sweep/wipe them down, but I probably would have liked that to be cleaned beforehand. Other than that it was clean and my stay was enjoyable!

When I arrived, I had trouble entering because of my code not working. I had trouble getting in touch with the property manager, but was finally able to get in. After the second night, the hot water started sputtering and stopped coming out all together. I never got it working again the rest of the trip. That aside, the rest of my stay was fairly pleasant

I stayed four nights in the Casita. It’s just as described. For me, it’s all about, is it clean? The Casita was clean. Everything works in the unit. it’s a quiet and peaceful neighborhood and parking is handy. I wouldn’t have a problem staying there again.

The description of the property was accurate, although since I am not from the area, nor had I visited the area before there were a couple of surprises.
One was the use of sceptic water for the plumbing. Clearly this is how all the homes used water. And it wasn’t a big deal since I travel with drinking water anyway.
Last the low levels of lake Travis were a disappointment. Also just a surprise to me because I was so new to the area.
These 2 points aside the accommodations were excellent. The bed was very comfy, and the place was very clean. It gave me the privacy I was looking for to do some reading and journaling. The tv worked, and the point out into the water where the pier was provided a place to hike where I could let my dog run. It was simply magical at night. Just watch for cars!

Everything was exactly as described, and we were very pleasantly surprised with the room and amenities. This is a great location and well worth another visit.

I was greeted by a 2" cockroach scurrying across the floor as I went to sit on the bed. The room was tiny. Electricity was conveyed by extension cords and not to code as it should have been. It had all of the basics: WiFi, clean towels, frig, micro, a/c, etc. The front door has a lockbox that was old and broken. The shower had a curtain that was twice the size needed. The bedside lamp still had it's store tag on it. I could go on but in conclusion this property was overpriced and should not be offered by VRBO.

Cute little converted shed with full bath. Great location for my event. I only used the cottage for sleeping and showering. Coffee maker worked each morning to help me start my day. The bed and sheets are soft for good sleep.

So pleased to stay at the Casita on Monks Mountain! It’s beautiful and just what was needed for a restorative weekend in nature. Thanks!

First I want to start by saying that the property manager was very kind and extremely quick to respond. A lot of places had a 1 pet minimum w/high pet fees, and this place was nice enough to let us bring both of our small dogs at no additional cost which I was extremely pleased with. They provided clean towels (that were very rough and thick, but clean nonetheless) and even free toiletries which was a nice added bonus.
Those were all the good things.
The bad:
Driving to the property it seemed to be a great area but as we got a few streets away it turned into a very poor looking, rundown, crappy neighborhood. Broken down houses and all that. We got nervous. Then we arrive. It's not a tiny house. It was a tool shed that someone cleaned up, put a bed in, added an air conditioner, and built a shower connected to the side of the shed. Immediately we regretted our decision to stay here, but we we only needed a place to stay for 1 night so I'm just thankful we didn't pay for a longer stay.
The bed was crooked & uncomfortable, like one side of it was higher than the other side so I had to sleep on the higher side & try not to fall inward on my husband lol. The outside of the property was dirty, chairs were filthy, and I felt like we paid $140 to experience the poor side of life for 1 night which is saying a lot since we aren't rich & live in a small apartment ourselves. It's just not what you think it'll be.
Summary: I really appreciated the owner's customer service & kindness, which is why I gave it 2 stars but the tiny house & property itself is a negative 10 stars, which I'm sorry to report. Your best bet is finding another place unless the experience I shared is what you're looking for lol.

Nice get away to the Lake! Great communication, check in / out was fast and easy. Two great neighbors made the experience even better. Walking distance to “swimming hole” with canoe and kayak was great. Also short walk to fun restaurant with great views of the lake. Grill and fire pit were prefect for sitting out at night.

La Casita
Not very clean outside. Appears run down; doesn’t look so much like the picture. Very crowded inside. Bathroom sufficient. 1 window missing screen , blinds worn and broken. I feel that I stayed in a tough shed that was remodeled into a bedroom.. overall I wouldn’t recommend it.

Middle of neighborhood!
The room was very nice but the bed was creaky and the host just HAD to use white bedspreads!! There was WiFi and Netflix which was great, but we had to go quite a ways to get to lake access where we didn’t have to worry about being on someone else’s property.

Perfect Couples Getaway
Loved the “tiny home” experience. Perfect size for a couples mini vacay exploring Austin. Great area for outdoor adventures(Lake Travis Ziplines) or fine dining(SP Brazilian Steakhouse). Loved kayaking on the lake, very beautiful. Definitely would be back to stay again!

weekend get away
the VRBO is as depicted. small. quaint. However. it's not an easy walk to the water, more of a trek downhill I wouldn't recommend. The outdoor space was dirty and couldn't be used without cleaning first. This is also a small shared space with the owner. The location of the rental.is convenient to the Lake (by car) the damn. the Oasis bar/ restaurant and Canyon Grill

Cozy stand alone hotel room
We enjoyed our stay as our puppy was quite happy with the accommodations. The little house was clean, well equipped with the essentials (coffee maker and microwave) and was in a quiet neighborhood.. it was a short walk to the lake. Great place for an overnight stay!

Blake was great host. Attentive to every need and helpful in many ways to any questions I had. Very respectful and understanding. Would have no problem staying at one of his properties again.

Great for our mini-getaway
Perfect little studio for a mini-getaway. Cool neighborhood right by the water of Lake Travis. We were really happy to have a fire pit to use during our stay as well.

The lake casita was cute.
Pros: communication with the owner was amazing, quick responses and answered all questions. They even provided local things to do in the area as well as places they recommend to eat. Very convenient to for walking. 5 min walk to the lake was nice and Sundance’s grill was amazing I highly recommend it! Small but perfect for a night stay. The owners were wonderful and accommodating. Bed and pillows seemed to be clean. Thank you.
Cons: the place could have been a little cleaner. The garbage was dirty, the light switch when you walked it is also dirty. The back of the front door was dirty too. I think maybe a new paint job would do it well. There was a sugar bowl with sugar in it and silverware which I personally think should be removed during covid. The pictures in the ad are a little deceiving, I thought the casita was going to be on its own little property, I did not realize it was legit attached to a home. We didn’t feel like we were alone and secluded which is what I was aiming for. This ad should include “shared property with the owner”. The AC was not very cold, if you don’t mind 73 degrees you will be fine, I like to sleep in 68 degrees and could not get it cold enough. I had to clean the filters they were clogged up I also went outside and sprayed off the units coils to help get it colder (I am a HVAC tech for the union). Upon leaving the owner requests for you to take out the garner and wash the utensils you utilized during your stay.
