We had a great time staying at Bay View. House views and location were amazing. We frequently walked into town and were in Acadia in minutes. Plenty of space to spread out or to be together for meals, games, etc.

Our kids asked for memories for Christmas and birthdays so we began in 2020 with Glacier with 10 of us. 2022 was Olympic and Mt Ranier with 11 of us. 2024 pick was Acadia, Bar Harbour with 13 of us! We have treasured all of our destination memories and defineltly the Bayview did not disappoint!! The property is excellent for kids and adults to have their own rooms and all enjoyed the amazing kitchen with enormous balcony with fire pit and seating for all. We really appreciated the air conditioning since as an historic mansion was not common for the time period but since our week was above normal temps was so nice to have cool sleeping and eating areas. I reached out to property manager for suggestions for my 5 grandkids ranging from 5 to 14 months tours and suggested possibilities. Their recommendations of DiverED was a huge hit with all; so thankful for Knowles for all they helped to make our 2024 family trip to be treasured!

Our extended family of 18 had a wonderful stay at the Bayview. We were enchanted with the home and it’s history. The location couldn’t be better with easy access to both town and Acadia. The pictures really don’t do this place justice!

The house is situated on a beautiful piece of property right on the water and a short walking distance to Bar Harbor. There was more than enough room for our group of 6. Kitchen is well stocked with appliances, pots, pans, etc. The terrace out back is so lovely! We enjoyed sitting out there in the morning with our coffee and then again at night looking at the stars. Very private location. I would definitely recommend this property.

We were a family group of 17. 15 adults and 2 teens. From the first moment we drove up we loved this beautiful house! The bedrooms were comfortable and spacious. Most had sitting areas and large closets and bathrooms. The sitting room was large with plenty of seating. The tv room and pool room was fun for group games. The kitchen was newly renovated and well equipped. The views were beautifully from the patio, grass and dock. If you are feeling ambitious you can walk to Bar Island or into town. The only issue was some of our family needed to check in with work and had minor WiFi issues. We highly recommend this house for large groups looking to connect with both nature and a historic site.

We found the property description in the listing was accurate and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Although there was only four of us, the property could comfortably accommodate 18 people. The spacious kitchen with its 12 burner gas stove , double dishwasher etc. has 3 seating groups each accommodating 8 people - this is in addition to a large formal dining room with seating for 12. All the 9 bedrooms are on the second floor with 7 full bath rooms (there are 3 half-baths on the ground floor. The large terrace on the ground floor offers a sweeping view of the bay with numerous seating groups and a commercial size BBQ grill. We would definitely recommend this property for a large group.

Wonderful home on a beautiful piece of land. The location was ideal, as we walked into town most days, and enjoyed the local restaurants and hiking trails. The oceanfront views will be with us forever. We enjoyed the comfy patio furniture and the bluestone deck where we enjoyed our morning coffee and evening fires. The kitchen made mealtimes easier, and the washer and dryer were a godsend. Comfortable beds, baths, and sitting areas. We enjoyed card games in the formal living room while my daughter played the piano. The ocean life was fascinating for the kids and adults. Most days we were able to watch a deer and her baby eat out of the beautiful garden. Lovely trip!

The house is exactly as described, meaning it is beautiful and grand. The location is perfect, as it is very close to town and the entrance to the Acadia entrance. I still cannot get over the use of the term "cottage" as this is a magnificent estate. The view from the backyard is incredible, from the sunrise from the dock, to the stars at night while sitting around the firepit. Each room is decorated beautifully. The stay was like stepping back in time to a wonderful, relaxing moment. I would highly recommend staying here for a Bar harbor vacation.

This was the most unique and historic home we have ever had the pleasure of renting. We were here for a family reunion. There was plenty of room for us all and this beautiful home was perfectly located between the Village Green and Acadia National Park. We were pleased at how well equipped and clean the house was and thoroughly enjoyed the large back deck with the outdoor fire pit. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

Excellent house and KITCHEN. With 16 it was easy to prepare meals on the 10 burner stove for everyone. Plenty of seating. We rented a boat for the week and docked at the house. Perfect. Burned wood every night in the fire pit and told tall tales with a sprinkle of hyperbole. House was a little warm at times but we did have a hot streak when we first arrived. Great house for a large group.

Bar Harbor week with friends
Our group of 5 couples had a great week’s stay at the Bayview. It was a lovely historic home right on the Bay and close to town. We had plenty of room for everyone to spread out and enjoy all parts of the house but most of our time was spent on the beautiful patio overlooking the water where we could see boats, sunrises and sea lions. The kitchen was well appointed and great for a big group. We loved being walking distance to town and a short drive to the entrance of Acadia. Great spot for a big group!

Old but lovely property. More than enough room. Beds were comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked with the requisite tools. Everything was clean and well maintained. Some of the bathrooms and things could use some upkeep, cracked tiles, etc. but overall can't complain and it was a lovely place to stay.

Great place!
Spent a week with friends at this fabulous place. Location is perfect. Easy walk into town, beautiful scenic views and plenty of room. We had 17 guests and we all agree it was terrific. House was clean and had everything we needed. I would definitely recommend this rental for large groups and would use it if we were to visit Bar Harbor again

Historic Property
We had a great time, the property easily handled our group of 16. We enjoyed the charm of the historical building, the great deck and views, and the easy walk to town.
Given the price point, my only wish would have been that they include some water toys (ie. kayaks, paddle board) and bikes with the the property rental.
From a watch out standpoint, the property is a historic building and therefore dated and tired in some areas (ie. curtains, bedding, bathrooms)....... outside of the remodeled kitchen. The beds were comfortable. Wi-fi internet service is mixed ... depends on the room.
All in all, a great option for larger groups that want to be close to town. Thanks to Knowles for the professioal communications.

AMAZING STAY!
We had an incredible week staying at the Bayview. Stepping into this home felt like stepping right into a piece of history. Each room is grand and lined with original antiques.
We spent the week in Bar Harbor for our wedding and had two sets of families staying in the home. The house provided plenty of space for everyone to have their own privacy as well as a huge kitchen and dining areas that easily fit the large group.
The lawn and dock lead your eyes right to Frenchmen’s Bay. The view cannot be beat. Only a three minuet drive into downtown Bar Harbor. The pictures do not do this property justice. I would revisit this listing a thousand times if I could!!!!
