About this cottage rental
‘Kaiteri House’ has been a much loved family bach for 40 years. It has everything you need for an idyllic holiday - panoramic sea views, easy access to the beach and restaurants, and indoor-outdoor flow. ‘Kaiteri House’ is perfect for couples, families, or a group of friends, who are looking for a special place from which to explore the world-famous Tasman region.
Designed by Nelson architect Ian Jack in the 1970’s, Kaiteri House has 4 levels, high-pitched wooden ceilings and open plan living spaces. There are 3 bedrooms; a master with ensuite, a double, and the attic bedroom with 4 x single beds (a favourite with children!) The mezzanine floor provides a delightful nook for reading or playing board games. Light and airy in summer, the house is warm and cosy in cooler months with a log burner (firewood supplied) and heat pump.
The house is just a 2 minute drive (or 5-10 minute walk) to Breaker’s Bay and famous Kaiteriteri Beach with its golden sands, general store, eateries, children’s playground, mini-golf and “Kimi Ora” health spa. You can walk down to the main beach via a bush track directly from the house.
On an elevated and tranquil site, above the hustle and bustle of the main beach, ‘Kaiteri House’ offers sweeping ocean views of the beach and across Tasman Bay to Nelson and south to the ranges beyond Motueka.
Surrounded by New Zealand native bush, ‘Kaiteri House’ enjoys abundant birdlife including weka, kereru, tui, and quail. We have a strict no smoking or pets policy anywhere on the property.
Renowned as the sea-side resort of the Tasman region, Kaiteriteri is a place for all seasons. Swim, water ski, hire a kayak, or cycle the mountain bike park. Take a day trip by boat into the famous Abel Tasman National Park, home to jaw-dropping scenery and stunning wildlife.
Location, space, and the chance to chill out in paradise will make ‘Kaiteri House’ your destination of choice and leave you wanting to book your next holiday there very soon!
Please note there is off-street parking available for 3 cars, however, there is no room for boats to be parked at the property.A maximum of 6 adults are allowed at this property. Please note a bond may be charged at certain times of the year. Our family really needed a holiday. My husband and i work long hours and when we are not working we are focussed on our young kids and making memories with them. We have never been to Nelson but was on our bucket list. We had no idea where to stay but knew we wanted it to find a place that the kids could just go out the door and explore NZ bush and beaches, was near Abel Tasman as we really wanted to hike some of it and was big enough that we didnt feel crammed in, but cozy enough to still feel like it was a bach style holiday. Boy this property ticked all these boxes and more. It was one of our family favourites of anywhere we have stayed ever and gave us the perfect opportunity to unwind like we all needed. The view you wake up to in the morning is stunning and makes that first cup of coffee feel like you are in heaven! We would highly recommend this property to any family or small group wanting to visit Kaiteriteri any time of the year. Thanks to the owners who allow others to share this beautiful treasure with others.

Better Than the Listing!
In these days of over-hype, not many things are better than they appear. This is one that is. The view is unbelievable and the access to all things Kaiteriteri is even better. The house is clean, meticulously outfitted and everything works. Really a great place! Thx Ron & Roz!

Kaiteri House is in a fabulous position with a view to die for! It is very well equipped, extremely comfortable and spotlessly clean. There are lots of basics in the pantry and we were given a bottle of wine, milk and a jar of gorgeous jam as a welcome gift. We highly recommend Kaiteri House.

This location is a tranquil piece of paradise
This location is a tranquil piece of paradise. Our family age was 78yrs to 7yrs and we all throughly enjoyed the stunning panoramic views. The house layout is outstanding with lots of nooks & crannies for quiet space if needed. On arrival the home was lovely & clean, the beds were comfortable and linen exquisite. Tui, Weka, Fantails & native wood pigeon provided great entertainment while planning which beach to visit next. Breaker Bay is our favourite!

This property is an amazing gem with the most phenomenal views.
This property is an amazing gem with the most phenomenal views. We could have sat on the balcony and stared at the view all day and listened to al the native birds. The house is really well set up with a fantastic kitchen and dinning for a group of friends or family and the beds are amazing and so comfortable!
Our only note to be mindful of is that linen is extra per person ($40 for a couple!!) The extra $100 for 5 people was a lil excessive and would prefer it built into nightly rental :)

Roz and Ron's house is in a stunning location with a panoramic view over Kaiteriteri Beach and towards Nelson. The house is very comfortable and well equipped. We loved the new bathroom! Fantastic house positioned above Kaiteriteri.
Fantastic house positioned above Kaiteriteri. Excellent layout, very clean and had everything we needed for our stay. At one point we had 8 people sleeping in the house and the split leave accommodation made this very easy. A lovely walking track is a quick descent to the beach, but the position of the house is beautifully isolated too. Would highly recommend this property to families visiting the area.
