Wonderful staff and delicious breakfast (with vegan options!); very helpful and allowed us to leave bags at the location after check-out while we toured around Moshi.

nette Einrichtung
extrem lauter Ort.

- Karim ist ein großartiger Gastgeber
- Sehr schöner Outdoor-Gemeinschaftsbereich mit Bar
- Gutes Frühstück
- Nette Bungalows
- sehr sauber
- kleines gutes Restaurant
- Sehr aufmerksam.

The hostel style with typical rooms (eco-friendly) and the chill outdoor space.
Karim and his staff are friendly and friendly and helpful.
The windows did not close properly and the internet connection (wifi) was not stable.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Very nicely built houses!
Located very near of a road, so a bit noisy.

Karim and his staff were communicative, welcoming, and helpful! Karim helped us set up our tour with one days notice and he made us feel very welcome! we loved that the hostel is made from recycled goods. it was a very unique and cool place to say!
we loved everything about it! our onlyyy downside was there was no hot water when we showered
4.5
Karim was an awesome host, he definitely makes it feel like a home. The breakfast and coffee were superb, and the dinner we ordered there was some of the best food we’ve had on our trip. The lounge area was very comfortable and Karim has been very creative repurposing and recycling lots of materials.
The shower water was warm, but not hot!

This hotel is pretty special!! Karim, the owner is a great person and he made this place super chill and cosy, with great vibes. The rooms are great, and it's fun to have an outdoor bathroom with cats visiting and trying to get attention. Honestly it's a very unique place and you have to come and stay there! Karim ordered food for us when we arrived (late) the first night, it was amazing. And then the breakfasts were so yummy, as well as the dinner we had here the 2nd night. We were feeling so good there, we only visited Moshi town for 4h and decided to come back in this little peaceful and restful oasis where we felt so great. It was exactly what we needed before our Kilimanjaro climb.

This hostel makes you feel at home immediately. It’s basically a garden with a fireplace, a comfy coffee corner and a bar. The bungalows are made of all national materials, dinner is yummy and breakfast just lovely. Staff are super friendly and helpful.
All was fine.

Really comfortable stay with incredibly friendly staff! Good location - quiet at night and walking distance to centre of Moshi. Everyone working at the property made sure I felt safe and included at all times, and looked after my luggage when I’d checked out and wanted to do a day trip. Warm showers, mosquito nets and a really nice breakfast. Felt very safe as a solo female traveller. Would recommend to anyone looking to stay in Moshi.

I had an amazing time at Backyard Hostel Moshi. Extremely kind local staff that will help you out anytime and give you valuable tips. Delicious local foods for breakfast and for dinner. Very welcoming atmosphere and common area in the beautiful garden. I felt comfortable and safe in my room as a solo traveler. I really enjoyed the good vibes and local authentic feeling and am very grateful for my time there. Also the options for trips around Moshi to Kili, Hot springs, waterfalls etc. are amazing.

Karim and his team are simply the best! They made everything possible for us, whether flexible check-in and out times, spontaneous excursions or food requests. The accommodation is also super located and there is love in every detail of the facility. We enjoyed every minute of our stay there and can definitely recommend. We look forward to coming back sometime!
There is nothing we didn't like. Keep going on like that! :)

Very nice stay here. We loved their building project and had a really good time in the common areas. John is always there to help with anything you need and his breakfasts are terrific. We met awesome people in here and had peaceful and joyful moments together. Not far away from downtonw but far from busy streets so it's the perfect spot. You'll love it!
Thank you for everything guys! Keep up that hard work you're doing :)

Low cost accommodation, couples room is nice & spacious. Hostel is 5-10 minute tuk tuk to Moshi. Staff were friendly & welcoming.
The neighbour has a lot of chickens so be prepared for Roosters crowing at 4am. The shower is cool/temperate with low flow - not hot. This was disappointing after climbing Kili & looking forward to a hot shower. Don't do laundry through the hostel, their price is extortionate & we managed to get it for 1/8th of the price in the town. Also, the location is difficult to find, not having a sign out the front. All that was written was "the backyard" in very small letters by the gate. During our stay, the hostel was undergoing an extension so there were also works going on next door to our room.

The bungalows are super nice and we liked the concept that they are building them with all recycled and local material (the project is still in progress).
The staff is great, breakfast super tasty and the common area is perfect to chill and very well decorated.
The place is close to the road so it is a bit noisy sometimes. Also during the night there were dogs barking and running around our room.

Nice garden, living room (no shoes inside), hot shower, the host helped us with everything and got us a shuttle to the airport
a bit loud because of the street behind the garden, but directly in the city center it’s for sure not quiet either
