Property could use a deep cleaning. It is obvious that it gets the basics done regularly but really could use a deep cleaning. The layout is very "cozy". The listing leads you to believe there is a sofa bed but in fact the sofa just extends to a full size futon. I asked the manager if beach towels are provided and was told "yes" only to arrive and no beach towels are provided. I also asked the manage about storing luggage after checking out and was directed to the docks where you can pay a small fee to check your bags in for the day. This was very handy as we had a full day of activities planned prior to heading back to the mainland. The balcony is a great place to hang out and enjoy the ocean breezes. I recommend this unit if you are just there for a few days and don't plan to spend much time inside. The next time I visit I will rent a unit with a golf cart.

The family loved this place and the walk to the city center was not too long at all. VONS really close by for anything you need. The island will take care of the rest

This place was perfect for my little getaway. My family reunion was taking place on the island and I needed a little spot to retreat to for privacy and relaxation. It was very cute and had everything I needed. It even came with a friendly kitty who must live nearby. He was very sweet and made my whole trip. I will come back for sure!

It had everything we needed for a nice vacation. Close to the beach.

I'll be honest, the location of the house is good, everything is close, but we had some disappointments since when we arrived the property has two "studios" we arrived without realizing which one it was and we opened the first apartment. , and we went up to the other studio and opened it with the same code that was opened in the one below, so we got worried and dialed and told them what was happening and they told us that it was a lie that they were not there. Even though we were able to open it, they denied everything. Another thing is that the sheets in the room were very dirty as well as the blankets.
I don't recommend this place.

The home was in excellent condition, it was a small cozy little getaway from the busy life.

Super squeaky floors throughout, bathroom sink has constant leak. Veronica was very nice. Neighbor had to say where the trash barrels were. Couch was very uncomfortable. Sliding door didn’t open and screen was broken.

Enjoyed the space.

My husband and I enjoyed a comfortable stay at this cozy little apartment. The apartment is just a short walk to main shopping and dining area so it was convenient. The apartment itself is on the older side and there is no air conditioner (not abnormal for Catalina Island) but there was plenty of fans you can use. The shower door needs to be fixed as it doesn’t close properly and water can leak out. Some of the blinds needs to be fixed as well as they did not retract properly or stay open. Lastly the notes on the cabinets should probably be removed as they tell the renter they will be charged for any missing plates, cups, silverware and knives. It is tacky in my opinion to tell your renter this. When I asked the property host she told me not to pay attention to those signs. I would remove them if I was the host. The host was responsive and brought us soap when we asked for it. Overall we would stay here again.

Decent
The space was decent. The floors were dirty and the toilet was severely clogged the majority of our stay (we were only there for a weekend). We messaged the liaison about the clogged toilet the night we arrived and had to message again the next morning. In between these times, the toilet overflowed 3 times, no matter how much we plunged, and my poor partner had to clean up some really nasty messes. It was eventually fixed for the last 6-12 hours of our stay. Other than that nasty mess and the dirty floors, the stay was great

NYE in Catalina
My girlfriend and I loved staying here! It was the perfect size for 2 people. We loved having the grocery store less than a block away and being so centrally located. We spent 4 days here. A couple things to improve on would be that the shower door doesn’t close, the pillows and linens aren’t comfortable (they felt old), most of the coffee cups are chipped, and the TV doesn’t have Netflix or similar apps. It could use some updates. Other than that, everything else was a breeze. A special Thank you to our host Veronica who let us check out an hour later, so we didn’t have to lug our bags around town.

It was for my best friend's birthday
My best friend had a blast over the weekend! He says when he returns, this is where he wants to stay again.

Great location; okay amenities
There were no paper towels or hand soap at this property. Pillows were not available for the pull-out sofa, and the pull out sofa was not very comfortable for sleeping. Location was excellent though!

LOVED IT!!!
We LOVED our stay in the house and had a great time on the island. The house was totally charming exactly what we expected at a very convenient location. We had a great time hiking, parasailing, snorkeling, and just walking around the town. We cooked every day so we have no comment re restaurants but the ice cream we got in town was divine. THANK YOU SO MUCH to Veronica Bravo our guest contact and THANK YOU to the owners of the house we stayed in. Everything was very very lovely

Great place and great location!
We had a fantastic stay here with our 3 year old. The house was clean and cute with a nice kitchen full of everything you need to cook. The property manager was really nice and check-in/out was super easy. The place is literally 1/2 a block from Vons which comes in handy, and then only about another block or two to the beach. Close enough to run back if you forgot something! There's also a nice patio with a big dining table and umbrella, and a weber grill. We spent tons of time out there eating meals, enjoying coffee, etc. All around great little place to use as a home base for a nice getaway!

Cozy and very nice location but not for a medium-large family.
PROS:
Great location
Nice terrace
Easy check in
Responsive property manager
Clean and well stocked kitchen
Clean house (for the most part)
CONS:
No extra bathroom towels provided for a three night stay
Dirty and stains towels
No hand soap (we had to buy some)
Stains on the shower floor
Not very suitable for a family over two people
Very outdated
Not enough light (meaning the lights in the house were very dim)
Very hot (ceiling fans didn’t do much to help)

Avalon's a lovely town!
My Wife and I enjoyed a few days in this upstairs 1BR in the heart of Avalon's quaint Sumner neighborhood. Quick 10 min. walk to the pier, beach, restaurants, shops. Usable kitchen, breezy windows, comfy bed and couch, and a spacious deck to watch clouds and ravens. Just what we needed!

We left
We didn't stay at the property for more than 15 minutes. It smelled horrible and seemed moldy. We contacted the manager and said we were leaving and I contacted Evolve, too. We expect a full refund as we had to get a hotel to stay in.

This place is small, but cute and cozy. The deck is wonderful, and the kitchen and bathroom are lovely. The bedroom is cute and tasteful too. The lights are soooo dim though. Please put in something more than 25 watt bulbs. It's dim like kerosene lantern light in there. Dangerous in the kitchen. Also dangerous: a small step into the kitchen that should be marked with yellow/black striped tape. The narrow steep stairs have unevenly spaced steps and no handrail. Very hard to get luggage up those steps. I'm 51 and in good shape, but my wife and I tripped on the kitchen trick step several times. And the outside stairs with no handrail is scary. Also--the bed situation is fine for a family with small children, but the pull-out chair is about 20" wide. Not suitable for an adult. Also it is at the foot of the full-size bed. The other bed is a pull-out in the living room, a little wider than a twin bed.

Dirty and loud
We booked for 3 nights. First off the manager seemed to be someone that just confirmed your arrival and let you know when the unit was available, nothing more. When we arrived the we were extremely disappointed. The place was dirty and not even close to CoVID mandatory regulations. Spiderwebs, oily knobs, dirty microwave, etc. Also, partying was going on down stairs and at the houses next door, definitely great if you are there to party. I immediately called the manager, no answer. Called the management company and the did offer to send someone to clean, however by this time we just wanted to go home. I filed a verbal complaint with them. They ended up refunding two nights but charged me for the day and owners fee.
