We did not stay! The code to the lock box I was given did not work. Called the host and he said "I changed it sorry I forgot to give it to you". Walked in the house and the air was very damp. A large fan was running in the master bedroom blowing up the wall!? A futon in the living room had all the vinyl stripped from it. It looked very old. This was not pictured on line. The whole house was dirty. The laundry room you use to access the back door/yard had sheets of plywood laid down and when you stepped on them the floor underneath felt squishy. The pans available for cooking were awful. The skillet had all the teflon peeled off.
The neighborhood was questionable. A couple of houses down had a large pile of stuff on the sidewalk/curb. People were digging through it and taking stuff!
We still decided to stay the night as it was late and we were tired. As we stood in the hall arming the alarm a roach fell from the ceiling. We were done!!
My recommendation for this property is -DO NOT STAY!!!!

With any old houses there will be some issues. But for the most part it’s a nice place to stay with a gas station within walking distance to get snacks.

This was our second stay at this location and it has never disappointed. Great location and easy check in and out. Close to the downtown riverfront.

Unfortunately the longer we stayed the more we found wrong with this property.
*We had to keep shoes or socks on at all times because the floors were so dirty they turn your feet black in less than a half hour and there were no useful cleaning products supplied
*The toilet in the hall bath sometimes wouldn’t flush, *the other bath light was out
*the shower in the master has almost no water coming out.
*The beds in the second room were so bad (hard and extremely noisy every time you move) we just slept on the couches.
*the laundry room floor feels like it is going to cave in
*the front porch almost did cave in, we had to put the door mat over one board that almost gave out on me
*the railing on the front steps bows with pretty much any pressure
I reached out to the owner about these issues after we left and he just apologized and said he would correct these issues for future guests… but there are reviews from 5 YEARS AGO that say some of the same safety issues that clearly have not been corrected. No attempt to compensate was made.

Had just a short overnight stay. In town for a graduation. Not too far from fort Moore, so was convenient.

The door handle on hallway bath needs to be repaired. The ice maker did not seem to work. Other than that, great house, great stay and great communication when needed.

Historic quaint house convenient to Ft. Moore as well as many other attractions. Its imperfections are to be expected with older houses. Host is very responsive!

The house was perfect for our family's needs. Host and cleaning lady were awesome.

Nice place for an older home. Clean, owners were responsive. Close to Fort Moore and Downtown/Restaurants. My daughter left a stuffed animal in the bed sheets by accident and the owners were nice enough to ship it back to us. Would recommend.

Exterior rear entrance dark alley trashy, not safe. Exterior house filthy. View from front porch is of run down houses, overgrown yards, stacked pallettes, trash. Interior was nice and comfortable except the bathroom h door handle fell off immediately and locked my husband in bathroom. Showers are weak at best. Took forever to get hot water. Handles swivel 360. We had to call property manager to gain entrance. We were given incorrect code. Owner did send a text hours before our arrival while we were driving but we didn’t see it. Would not stay again.

If you like the quaint old buildings, this is a great place for you. Very clean and good communication. Good location to make your "headquarters" for a visit to Columbus.

Great location when we came to visit our son at Ft Benning. Close and convenient. Neighbor on left was charming.

The property wasn’t what we expected. Based on reviews I was happy with trying it out and for the price, I was expecting an older house. It just wasn’t a spot to stay in that made me feel comfortable. My opinion, the property needs updating and pictures to be added of the outside and inside to show exactly what people are paying for and where they are staying. I tried to contact the property manager a few times prior to arriving and couldn’t reach anyone. Once we were there it smelled like smoke, the flooring didn’t seem safe and it felt unsafe for me and my children. I love this type of properties but this wasn’t what I expected. I contacted the owner who refused a refund so we stayed in a hotel instead. I think it could be a beautiful bnb but it could use updates, landscaping, maybe some security features for the area. I’m not sure this will be received well but it’s just not the expectation when you are in a new area and are paying for a service. So instead of what I projected for one night, I ended up out triple for two rooms.

This historic property (as acknowledged by the beautiful pane glass reading 1907 in the hallway) was spacious and very comfortable to "chill" in over the weekend with our soldier. The price was a true bargain and the owners were very kind and accommodating. The only reserve I would have in recommending it is because the neighborhood is a little run down and probably not located in the best part of the city. However, we had no problems and enjoyed every minute of our stay. It is close to the interstates and we were within easy driving distance of Ft. Benning.

Kinda sketchy
House was cute and well stocked. Water pressure was terrible. Location seemed ghetto. If you are going to see your soldier I was told to stay exit 7 and up for less crime. I was sketched out by the location and tried to call the police dept but couldn’t get anyone one the phone. I started to lose my money and go get a hotel in a better part of town. Had I not had a man with me I more than likely wld have been out my money and wld have went to a better part of town and got a hotel

Disgusting
In the worst of neighborhoods, The outside of the home was the decrepit and unkept, We made it about 6 feet inside the house before we left. Literally look like something out of a horror movie. I’m not trying to be mean, I’m be very honest. We walked out and booked a hotel room. I sincerely have no idea how they got any good ratings whatsoever.

Son’s graduation
We had a wonderful stay at this home. We enjoyed the historical presence the home represents. The large master suite’s bed was the most comfy bed I have slept in since I’ve been staying with VBRO. It was a very hot week in GA. We are talking temps of 110 and greater. The air did a good job of keeping up. It did get somewhat warmer, but we were comfortable. The back gate did not have the combination lock. The backyard has a beautiful big tree close to the back drive. We parked our car under the tree in the shade to keep the car from being a sauna when we were ready to leave. We spent our time away from base on Broadway or “Uptown.” The restaurants in the area are the best! John Travolta was even there!!! Yes! We enjoyed our time. I saw my baby boy, ate great food, and slept comfy!!! Thanks Columbus!!

No refund
We were planning the stay to attend my brothers Airborne Graduation on Friday 5/20. We were unfortunately notified on Monday 05/16 that my brother had sustained significant injuries on one of his training jumps knocking him unconscious and giving him a laceration that required 11 staples in his head. He was obviously unable to continue due to the nature of his injuries. I notified the owner that same day 05/16 of our inability to attend and the nature. Requested a refund, but was ultimately denied. I understand there is a no refund policy, but given the circumstances I feel like there could have been an exception made.

Sketchy neighborhood, shabby remodel, loose floorboards, musky smell throughout. You get what you pay for!

Exactly as shown - good location
The home reminds us of historic neighborhoods (safe & we had no concerns) in our hometown. Older, similar construction, hardwoods with creaking which we like, and other quirks. House is older but clean. Could use a dish towels or two but other than that it was fine and would stay again.

Good Stay with Plenty of room
This property and host were great. The location is close enough to Ft. Benning to make this a great stay for your soldiers graduation ceremony and daily access if they have leave during your stay. All the amenities of home. We will use again.

Never heard back.
We were supposed to come down for family weekend for my son who is in basic training in the army. It was cancelled by the army last minute. We knew we would not get a refund but tried on multiple occasions to request a change of date for the October graduation. I requested multiple times and emailed multiple times. No response. Not one. A simple no would have been better than nothing. We have used vrbo for all of our vacations and this was ridiculous. A response would have been appreciated.

Cute home
Very cute older home with a lot of charm. The owner was really great and easy to contact. The home it's self is really cute for being such an older home. It felt welcoming and we had a great time staying here.
