About this house rental
The Sea Glass Cottage is a fabulous oceanfront home with multiple balconies & decks where you can catch some rays or stay shaded & just enjoy the breezes coming off of the Atlantic. The views are incredible & there is nothing but sand dunes & sea oats between you and the ocean. Your own walkover to the beach puts you at the ocean in minutes & you will enjoy the wide expanse of sand to walk or bike for miles and miles. Early morning sunrises will blow your mind as Mother Nature shows up to amaze! You will love the multiple decks and patios that seat you up close and personal with your sensational views. At Sea Glass Cottage you get a front row seat!
You will find the cottage charming and quaint. The original wood floors give the home a warmth and coziness not found in modern houses. While there are upgrades everywhere, especially in the bathrooms and kitchen, the cottage exudes comfort and makes you feel right at home.
Sea Glass Cottage is right in the center of things happening at the beach. You are just a short stroll from the grocery stores, shops for anything you can imagine, mouthwatering restaurants and hair and nail salons and spas. On the beach just north of here (also a nice walk), you will find the pier, perfect for fishing or strolling out to see some fish. There are volleyball nets and you can join in a game on most days or bring your own volleyball and strike up a family competition. Miniature golf, bowling, The Alligator Farm, and the Lighthouse, which I do suggest you climb for 360 views as far as the eye can see, are all a quick drive away, but still on the island.
You will enjoy the laid-back vibe here at the beach and every Wednesday morning there is a farmers' market in the parking lot by the pier. So many different items for sale, all done, or grown, by local artisans or growers. So many great things to see and buy or a great way to spend a morning just perusing the various items. If you love a good farmers' market, also try the Amphitheater on Saturday mornings. It is huge and most times will have live music to enjoy as you meander past the delectable baked goods, smoothies, pies, and breads. Live plants, paintings, jewelry, and some great souvenir items for those who got left behind on this vacation.
Of course, you must head downtown at least once during your stay. Worldly chefs will tempt your palate with an amazing array of different foods. The history of St Augustine is intriguing, especially when it is right there in front of you, like the fort, or the oldest schoolhouse. The original brick streets and buildings. It is something to see! Take a horse and buggy ride. Or sign up for a pirate ship ride, or a dolphin excursion. The options are limitless and all are such fun!
This is a gorgeous beachy community of everyone from surfers to businessmen. A friendly place to stay and play. You will feel like you are on an island in paradise because the home is so tucked away in the dunes and the views forward are all ocean. The neighborhood is walkable with shops and restaurants of every kind. From fancy to as casual as you can get, this home is very quietly right in the middle of where it is all happening!
You will never run out of things to do in St Augustine but one thing is for sure, each day, as you return home to Sea Glass Cottage, you will be so grateful that you made the choice to stay here. While the sun sets to the west, you can enjoy the sky from the cottage as one color melds into another. As the evening wraps up you have a comfortable bed for your slumber and will awaken relaxed, energized, and ready for a brand new day. Sea Glass Cottage will not disappoint. This is a place you will want to return to again and again. Remember to book fast for your next vacation. This is a hot spot amongst rental properties!

We request that you leave shoes and sand outside! :)

The 3 decks overlooking the beach were fantastic! Added fun to watch the beach goers come and go-surfers, dogs, just people having a good time!
The home does need updates but everything was working. We had such a great time!

The location is perfect! You definitely pay for the view. The house needs lots of updates. We covered the furniture before sitting on it! Recliner in the corner has an arm that falling off… unusable! Little things need replaced or repaired! Main bedroom has queen bed and definitely has room or a king. Tried to open curtains and it almost fell off the wall! Window locks broken. I feel it was overpriced! Will do more research before renting for a month next year!

The location and the views were great. Lots of good, local restaurants within walking distance.
It wasn't perfect. The interior of the house could use some TLC. Needs a new coffee maker for instance.
Overall, the location and view more than make up for any of the interior deficiencies. Would rent again without hesitation.

We had a wonderful time. The only bad thing was that is got crowded when the surf shop taught group surf lessons right there. Otherwise, it was great.

We had such a fun stay! the house was very clean and in a great location

Great location but the older unit needs a little facelift. I know you pay for location but at this $ amount you expect a little more than worn furniture, mismatched dishes, and OLD electronics. The dvd player wouldn’t work and since the TV wasn’t a Smart TV we couldn’t even stream our Dish app. Over 4 days never figured out the 4 old remotes or the DirectTV that had no local channels & mostly PPV movies. The upper deck (widow walk) furniture is mostly unusable but The main deck was ok.

The location is ideal for a perfect beach getaway. The house was clean and well equipped with some essential items. Communication with the property manager was friendly and efficient. Overall a great stay!

The location is amazing - on the beach with ocean views from two levels of comfortable balconies. Close to the fort, food and fun. The Cottage is comfortable for both people and pets. Two families with kids could easily enjoy and have plenty of room. Saw turtles, sharks and shells.

We loved location. Everything was good but stovetop had a few burners out but they were in the middle of buying a new one. Maybe a few more pans for cooking we like to stay in and make dinner. But all and all we loved this home

Beautiful Home
Great house on the beach - the dunes blocked our beach view but we could hear it. Other than a shortage of towels and toilet paper everything was great!

House needs some attention
some things that need attention: Upstairs back door won't close or lock, many light bulbs out, ants in kitchen and around door, tv remotes lack batteries, stove settings are worn off- can't tell which burner or level of heat, metal drain cover in big shower is bent and needs screw- safety issue, could easily cut a foot, towel rack at head of bathtub is loose and falls off if used, chair at desk is tearing up the floor, deck chairs have apparently been chewed by a large dog and are very rough- DID cut a leg! Outdoor furniture on the lowest level would be nice. I know it is out of your control, but renters should be aware that there is very near by construction from dawn till dusk
