Everything you want for A vacation home. Comfortable beds, great living room outdoor spaces perfect

This is a beautiful home, perfect for a large family group. Plenty of room and set up well. The games room, kayaks, and hot tub were in great shape. Fire pit and firewood for s'mores. Tons of outdoor seating. We had a great time.
The downsides are that the lower floor bedrooms have a musty smell, and the lake is not good for swimming due to frequent boat traffic on the narrow lake and questionable water quality (heavy algae blooms). If a group had small children, they might want to know that this property does not have a sandy or protected wading/beach area and is not the best for little kids.

Went to this home for a week in August on a family vacation (ages 10-82.)
Everyone enjoyed the hot tub, air conditioning, game room, and proximity to some lakeside lounging. Bedrooms were comfortable and we loved having personal bathrooms.
The walk to the water is quite steep which was a little bit of a struggle for the grandparents in the group. The pictures do show an accurate trip down to the water. Not knowing the area, I underestimated the pitch from the water to the house and up to the street. The indoor stairs, and the stairs and ramp to the dock were also steep - fine for our younger guests, but be mindful for folks with mobility or balance limitations.
We were a little bummed that the reservoir was pollen-covered and murky. We had been looking forward to swimming. However- we enjoyed using a paddle board and kayak. Great house and lake to bring a boat! Neighbors were enjoying pontoon boats and water skiing/wake boarding all week. (The hot tub was a fun swimming substitute!)
Kitchen is well stocked with tools for basic cooking. Super convenient location to groceries, farm stands, a farmers market on Thursdays, and really great BBQ. We grilled and ate on the deck overlooking the lake. The large living room was perfect to pile onto the comfy couch to watch the Olympics and movies on rainy nights.
Good communication up to and during our stay. Thanks!

Property was clean and had everything we needed. Craig, the property manager, was very friendly and very responsive to our questions. Path to the house is very steep, so maybe challenging for older people. Cars can drive down the path, so that was great for unloading. One area of the dock may be challenging too, but with help, is fine. Water had some algae in it. We had a very enjoyable and comfortable week.

My sister and I (with our families) came to get away and spend quality time for a couple of nights after Thanksgiving. It was the perfect stay!! So much room for all of us. Most bathrooms have been renovated from the pics. Great game room. The lake was so peaceful. Great family trip!!!!

The place was beautiful, the host were more than accomodating. Would definitely recommend.

The large house is exactly as decribed. Spacious and very well equipped kitchen allows many.people to work in it at once. Most of thr bathrooms have been remodeled and most of the beds very were comfortable. Sadly, the weather was terrible, with rain most of the time we were there. So the beckonimg lake wasnt used which was disappointing. We were thrre with adults and 2 young chidren ages 7 and 10. Due to the fact there were great arcade games they and the adults were kept occupied. House us perfect for 10 -12 people. We came with a lot of food which was useful as there arent too many restaurants in the area. The host was very responsive to all our needs.

The eight of us, all family, enjoyed the location on the pond. A few hiked, some kayaked, and we all enjoyed the view. The week after Labor Day meant peace and quiet which we really enjoyed, too.

We enjoyed a lovely family reunion. There were plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms for everyone. The indoor and outdoor seating is very comfortable. The grill and campfire was great to have, and there are several kayaks, boards and tubes to enjoy during the day. Thank you for a memorable time!

This house and property is just perfect! We had plenty of space for 5 couples and each couple had privacy. The deck and hot tub were fantastic. We loved every part of staying here. Plenty of kayaks, games, comfortable places to hang out and be together or alone. Craig, the property manager was readily available and very nice. He made it easy in and out. Thanks for sharing your beautiful lake house with us!

Everything went very well on check-in and room accommodations. We spent a lot of time in the kayaks and in the water. Easily accommodated our party of 7 adults and 3 kids ages 5 to 9. Property manager took care of any issues immediately.

More than enough room for my friends and I. The property is exactly how the pictures portray and the lake was amazing. Property manager kept in touch and was very helpful with questions I had about the house and local market for supplies.
Greatly recommend for large groups that want a relaxing weekend

If you need to take a break and just get away this house is the ultimate stay! We were 6 adults and 4 kids, not only was there room for everyone, but there was constant entertainment available!
There was a game room complete with air hockey, basketball and the ultimate Pac-Man.
The arrival of snow made for an even more relaxing retreat as we all sat in the hot tub with the snow falling around us.
Craig the property manager was communicative, and insightful on what is local to the area! We happen to have also arrived during a snow storm, and by morning the area was salted and plowed.
Could not have asked for a more home away from home experience.
Highly recommend!

This is a really nice house, there are a lot of things to do and it fits a large group very well. It is well supplied with the dishes and cook wear that you need. The view is awesome and we loved the hot tub. Great place!

The house was well insulated during a very cold time. The rock steps leading down to the house were difficult for emptying and refilling our cars upon arrival and departure. There was rock salt provided to help with the ice and snow but a little daunting for the elderly and little ones.
The view of the snow covered lake was beautiful and the bedrooms comfortable. The property manger was very responsive quickly bringing items requested. Thank you again !
Discovered the blender didn't work later in the weekend. The kitchen could use some more smaller glassware and some gadgets such as a peeler, spatula and a sharp knife.
We did have fun being together, sharing Christmas, the game room, the fireplace and great meals.
Due to weather we only used the hot tub once. Not really as clean as it could be but we did enjoy the lights and scenery.

7 of us stayed at the House over Thanksgiving, and we had a great time! The house was clean and the kitchen had most things we needed to cook the dinner. The TV had access to the football and the games room was a great feature too. The Hot Tub was a hit on the cold evenings! The lake is beautiful and surroundings are so peaceful.
Just for clarity, 1 double room upstairs has ensuite as well as the lower double and bunk bed room (4 bunks) downstairs. The other 2 upstairs Double Bedrooms share the separate bathroom. It all worked out in the end!
Craig was great at communicating by text, and we were sent the Lodge Booklet before hand so we couple prepare. Thanks for having us!

Our tight-knit group of college friends and significant others wanted to meet up at a central location (we extend from northern VT to central Maryland) for Friendsgiving 2022 and thought this lakefront spot would do the trick! We were soooo pleased with the house - clean, super spacious (we're at the age where we all want our own bedrooms :) ), a well-equipped kitchen for Friendsgiving cooking, and a wonderful outdoor space to bundle up and hang out together. Game room was a hit, and the hot tub was a treat after a couple of us did a cold water plunge in the lake! Even the living room was so cozy to curl up together in. By the second day we were scheming our next trip in warmer weather to this spot. HIGHLY recommend.

We are a group of 50+ Yr old women getting together and this house was EXACTLY what the doctor ordered. The house and the surroundings were just as advertised. Easy access, great location. The house was clean, so many rooms and bathrooms made it very comfortable. The play room was fun and the lake beautiful. We all want to return. Would love to return in the summer to enjoy the access to the river.
We all would recommend .

We stayed here in October as the leaves were just finishing changing. The house is has beautiful views of the reservoir and valley. It was a very peaceful and relaxing place to spend a weekend. The house was overall clean and well maintained and noone had any concerns sleeping ont he bedding or anything like we've had at other rentals. The grill was on it's way out and tough to cook on, but generally the kitchen and cookign equipment was in good shape. My only two complaints were that there were a lot of cameras in the house and while I understand why their there it is a little uncomfortable to feel like you're being watched in ahouse you've spent a lot of money to stay in. The staircase is also very tight and low and every single guest hit their head at least once on the way up or down. Overall, we'd likely stay again if we want to return to the area.

This house was perfect!!!!!!! From the amazing views and nights by the fire to Ms. Pac-Man and so many choices of fun downstairs. We were 8 women and we had a blast. We went on one, long hike on Saturday morning and then just out to dinner. We spent most of the time at the house and it’s was incredible. Thanks!!!

We have been coming to the Monticello area over 30 years. This was the first time we stayed in a VRBO and on swinging bridge reservoir. The lake was fantastic, even though the water level was lower than usual.
The host Katie and manager Craig were exceptionally attentive and made our stay that much better. The property was great and had everything we can ask for…plenty of space in house and property, game room that kept the kids occupied after day on lake, canoes, paddle boards and great acces bud dock. House was clean with fresh towels, clean bedding and even outdoor wireless speakers. Hot tub came in handy on a couple chilly nights! We’ll definitely be back soon Katie!!

We were a group of 7 adults. Plenty of room for everyone. Beds were comfortable. House was very clean. Well stocked with just about all the kitchen items you need. Bring your own bars of soap and dishwasher detergent. Enjoyed the canoe and had a corn hole tournament. We had one person with bad knees and the steepness of the property was a challenge for them. It is a beautiful location and I would definitely recommend going!

This house was great, particularly for our family which was comprised of mostly adults with a teenager. The lake was great with a dock for fishing or swimming and lots of kayaks, canoes, paddle boards, etc. The decks and hot tub were awesome for just sitting outside and relaxing.
We had a few rainy days while we were there and the game room and Roku came in handy for movies and entertainment. The living room is large and comfy for hanging out.
It was clean and well appointed and the bedrooms were comfortable with 3 of the having their own bathrooms, which was a plus.
The area is pretty remote. There's not a lot to do, and it's not a "destination" vacation. The highlight of this trip is definitely the house and the lake. We did, however, visit the Bethel Wood Museum (the Woodstock Museum), which is located on the site of the original Woodstock. It was so great, I would absolutely recommend it. Our family ranges from 16 - 72 years old and everyone had a great time and really enjoyed it. It was only about 10-15 minutes from the house.
We also went out to breakfast one day at Tillys, a great 50's style diner and had dinner at the Local Table and Tap, a nice spot with a lot of locally grown items on the menu. There were several artists shops and antique stores in the area as well.
If you're looking for a great spot to hang out with friends or family and relax with a beautiful view - this is the spot for you!

Owners could not have paid more attention to details. Not only was the house spotless, but most things looked brand new. And that game room kept the kids busy for hours. Real relaxation on beautiful grounds not far from White Lake and Monticello. Oh, and the hot tub was terrific as well! Highly recommend!

Property manager was very reachable and responsive. Within hours of our request, he dropped off a replacement remote for a ceiling fan, which was a huge help in cooling the DR and kitchen on the two days it was really hot and humid. The rooms in the basement were cool enough for sleeping, even without AC down there. Kids (ages 7, 11, 13 and 15) loved the kayaks, hot tub, game room and Roku TVs. Deck seems new and was very spacious. We'd recommend parking any vehicle without 4WD on the street rather than down the very steep driveway. As others have said, the home could maybe use some deep cleaning and minor maintenance/updating, but couldn't we all say the same for our own houses? We would definitely come again! Thank you, Katie and Craig!

We had a wonderful time. My wife and I were there with our daughter, son-in-law and five grandchildren. The house was large enough for everyone to have some private space. The kids loved the game room and the hot tub. The three youngest slept in the downstairs bedroom with bunkbeds. There was plenty to do. The kids loved the gameroom. The decks were very nice.
Craig, the house manager, responded rapidly to our questions and needs. He could not have been more accomadating. The stairs in the house and outside were more difficult than they appeared in the photos but they did not present a major problem. The deck was great for swimming. The water was deep enough to dive very safely. It was a terrific week.

We had a wonderful time, the location of the house on the lake was perfect. Plenty to do, swim, kayaking, games or just lounging outside reading. The hot tub was really relaxing and enjoyed by all. the outside deck area is wonderful as is the deck down by the lake, even though we had hot weather the shade from the trees made it very pleasant . All in all a very pleasant house to spend a week with the family.
Just watching the grandchildren running and jumping of the dock made the holiday!

Lovely spot to relax
Three generations of family stayed here and had a great time making meals and relaxing together. The views were beautiful each morning as we had coffee on the deck. Besides Sunday, the lake had very few motorized boats so it was a pleasure going out and kayaking. It was great that grocery stores were close by. Nice hiking locations nearby too. As the place is near the end of the road, it was quiet enough to push the stroller around to put my grandson asleep on some days
The only thing I want to add that I did not find in other reviews is a comment on how steep the driveway is. My father has a walking issue and we found it very hard to get him in and out of the house to the car at the top of the hill. This place is great as long as this is not an issue for your family.
Also want to comment on how quickly the caretaker responds to text messages. He was great and I highly recommend the house.

Catskills getaway
Great property 10 minutes away from Monticello. The lake house provided everything we needed, and more. The host was incredibly responsive and even dropped off 4 kayaks and a canoe early in the morning, without disturbing the guests. 5 stars!
