lovely big house with plenty of room for 4 adults and 2 children. staff were easy to talk to. accommodation clean and close to the city. Great little park 20 meters away.
there was alot of requests outside of booking.com for credit card info and identification.

This is NOT "what I liked" , I had to split feedback due to restricted text. I am sure Holiday Homes will have their own opinion on this feedback and respond accordingly but for the record, I won’t be recommending this property or Holiday Homes to anyone in future. As other commenters have mentioned, there is an unacceptable volume of communication from both Holiday Homes AND Booking.com in the lead up to the booking, it’s hard to keep track and many of the messages are duplicates. I was sent emails, texts AND messages through Booking.com asking about extending my stay, about when they would send access information, messages asking for credit card information and asking for my email address, a total pain, if I am honest.
One of the messages asked me specifically for the check in and check out time I would like – which I dutifully completed, asking for a 1pm check in time.
On the day of arrival, after a full-on week(s) of work/family commitments I was looking forward to a weekend with girlfriends and arrived at the property half an hour before my requested 1pm check in time. I let myself in using the instructions I had been sent, used the bathroom and dropped off my heavy bags with the intent of heading straight out again. Within a few minutes there was a loud aggressive banging at the door, when I opened it, a man started shouting about “check in is 3pm!!” I calmly explained that I had requested a 1pm check in and he left abruptly – a nice welcome to the house! I then left the house and met my friends in town.
Continued in comments below - text limit here
A few hours later when I returned to the house with my friends, I received an aggressive email from Holiday Homes informing me that as I had “checked myself in” prior to 3pm, they would be charging me $25!! Again, a really unpleasant way of starting the weekend with my friends – having paid over $825 in advance.
I will leave it to others to decide if they would expect this sort of email, and if this is how they would like to be communicated with. As I say, I won’t be recommending Holiday Homes. As they have your credit card details they can essentially charge what they want – which they did!
The house itself was ok, not cleaned properly, the shower on ground floor was blocked, a serious ant situation in the kitchen and lounge, tv channels glitched so we couldn’t watch the FIFA world cup game, no corkscrew in the kitchen (!) which could all be forgiven if the communication by Holiday Homes had been professional, courteous and reasonable…

Plenty of beds for a large group and close to the main city precinct

The location is excellent and loved the living room area, great for big groups!
The property has 4 bedrooms and only 2 bathrooms - one of which is a master bed bathroom. All the 3 bedrooms in ground level are having only 1 bathroom, which makes it inconvenient for bigger groups.
4.0
The location and size of the property was very good. Off road and garage parking was a bonus in the middle of the city.
Short 10 to 15 minutes walk into the CBD. Plenty of beds both upstairs and downstairs if you have a larger group or family. Good air con both upstairs and downstairs. Overall a very good option if you want to be near the CBD.
Stairs are painted wood which could be a bit snippy if you just had socks on.

It was in quiet neighbourhood, no road noise. great space where everyone had their separate area. able to warm up with heat pump. Relaxing lounge and very clean, well presented.
There was nothing I didn’t like except Stairs were slippery so we were careful not to go down in socks.

Too many contacts pre arrival from both Booking.com and the Host.
In the end I was expecting an email from the Host regarding the lockbox but the advice came via text 10 days before we arrived (and was overlooked). Helpful phone conversation from the Host on arrival sorted the issue.
WiFi password did not work - bit frustrating but not a major issue.

A really nicely presented property, perfect for our group of friends.
The mattresses could definitely use some mattress toppers on them.

Good location .
Ensuite bathroom wasn’t up to expectation. Very dated and we therefore decided to use the bathroom downstairs.

House was excellent and for once was the same as the photos online. lots of little extra bits and bobs in the kitchen etc so we were able to live 'normal'
great place i highly recommend.
I did not receive key instructions prior to arrival, i received a multiple booking emails and messages from the property but nothing with the code. Send less guff and keep it simple
