Very comfortable, friendly and make sure to pack an appetite.

This was a quick break in a part of the country we were not familiar with; but the hotel and staff made it a trip to remember. The standard of accommodation was excellent, and I have no words that can adequately describe the quality and quantity of the food. Brilliant accommodation, with a supremely comfortable bed. Bathroom to a standard that excelled. I can't recommend this hotel highly enough. Would love to come back for another go at one of the pies. By the way, the full English breakfast will fill you for the day. Thanks Nicholas.

Nothing except the very idiosyncratic door handle on our room. If that's the only issue, why am I complaining?

Extremely enjoyable.

Beautiful decor. Very clean and nicely furnished. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast really tasty with good quality ingredients. Evening meals available too.

Enjoyable but questionable value for money

A warm welcome and a comfy room. Bar and restaurant warm and welcoming.

Location is some way outside Holmfirth along a busy and narrow road. Pretty expensive for the accommodation and service supplied.

Warm welcoming Holmfirth gastropub/hotel

Cozy room with log burner, nice comfy bed and large roll top bath Great tasty breakfast, ample parking and the staff and owner were really top notch

Not a fan of having to get in the bath to have a shower! Noisy plumbing when flushing loo and water going down sink/bath

Will be back, great location, cozy dog friendly too

Allowing dogs and having a great room, even with dogs. It was so warm and cozy. Breakfast was brilliant and so tasty.

We didn’t realise they didn’t serve food on a Monday evening, but they allowed us to have a delivery and provided plates etc. lovely stay, really welcoming and great service thank you.

Would stay here again if visiting the area.

Lovely staff very friendly and efficient. Nice bar/ restaurant for evening meal. Beds very comfy. Nice touch with homemade cake along with beverages in room.

Choice of normal bread instead of sour dough for breakfast please.

Great base for a walking break with comfortable bed and great breakfast

Very hi-spec Pub room, convenient for lots of walking, good breakfast (catered well for veggies too) and friendly and helpful staff. Thanks for a nice stay in your lovely pub.

Outstanding

Renovated and decorated to an exceptionally high standard. Immaculate throughout. Very comfy bed, wonderful shower. We very much liked the cakes that were left in our room upon arrival. All the staff couldn't have been more friendly. We enjoyed a lovely meal in the evening in the restaurant, top quality food. Would definitely recommend

If I had to be really picky, then the only negative things I could comment on is the hot water is quite scolding hot and the toilet seat wasn't fitted very well

Brilliant little boutique hotel!

Modern and spacious room, exactly what we wanted. Breakfast was great- nothing was too much bother

Location. We travelled to the area for one night to visit the local vineyard. Didn’t seem like there was much else In the vicinity.

Decoration exception but lacking in some areas of service and food

We stopped in the Peacock Suite. The style and quality of decorating was exceptional. Bedding very high quality. Log burner for use in the winter Quality of bacon and sausage for breakfast was good Plenty of free parking

We booked thinking it was within walking distance to Holmfirth, which it was not. The local bus stops just outside, thank goodness The check in time is late at 4pm and the check out time is early at 10am. With 6 hours to clean 7 rooms I am unsure as to why they felt the need to pressurise us in leaving spot on time. We were asked for our keys both by reception and the cleaners and we had only just finished breakfast Breakfast was only what was on the menu. The was no fruit juice, cereal, pastries etc. we were not offered any top up to our tea or coffee. At £195 per room we found this very poor I asked for scrambled eggs with my full English but received poached eggs tasting of vinegar and when you advise yourself as a gastro pub you would at least ensure the eggs were cooked properly 🤷‍♀️

Absolutely stunning little restaurant/ pub with beautiful rooms. The room was perfect, clean and really comfy. The good was delicious both evening meal and breakfast and the staff was lovely too.

The Pickled Pheasant has wonderful rooms, great food and amazing people to care for you.

The breakfast choices were excellent. Breakfast was leisurely, the food was fresh and perfectly prepared. The portions were plentiful...very plentiful. Eggs were cooked perfectly! Coffee was very good and staff were amazing, helpful in every way without hovering. They friendly and attentive and took very good care of us.

Really noisy loo and bathroom . Maybe a compactor type drainage system. Maybe the only type of system they could use . Worried about waking other guests when using bathroom. Otherwise really nice stay
