Beautiful and charming, private cottage next to the woods but very convenient to South Bend. Check-in was a breeze, the owners were extremely responsive any time I had questions. Upon arrival, I was greeted by fresh flowers and a plate of delicious, individually-wrapped cookies and brownies. Charming, well-chosen decor, and all of the amenities I needed to cook meals when I wasn't dining out with family.
The cottage is a fair distance away from the host's house, and from another cottage on the property, so it's nicely private. It's near the garage and driveway, so unloading from parking in the driveway is quick and convenient. Everything was spotlessly clean and charming - a beautiful refuge. WiFi was fast and flawless.
Faith and Joe are excellent hosts, and this beautiful cottage was exactly the refuge I needed while in the area to visit family!

A lovely little cottage that is well-maintained and accentuated with small personal touches like fresh flowers, cookies, and bottles of water. The bed was quite comfy.
Fair warning: if you're on the taller/broader side (I'm 6'4, 250lbs), make sure you keep your head and shoulders tucked in while moving around at first. Took a few knocks here and there being careless, but that is no fault of the property or its owners! 10/10 would stay again!

My husband and I had a very relaxing time at this historical cabin. It was perfect for what we needed and we slept really good. There was an issue with the shower head and when letting them know, they were right on it and the issue was resolved. We will come back the next time we visit family. I would highly recommend this place to stay.

Very nice stay. Very small but cozy. It had personal touches from the owners. Enjoyed the deer coming up and eating apples from the tree. Houses were nearby but you didn't really notice when you were inside. Landscape was adorable. We enjoyed our stay very much.

My wife and I really enjoyed our stay at this cottage! We were greeted with some delicious sugar cookies (wife wants the recipe!) and fresh flowers upon check-in. We had a great time enjoying our morning coffee on the patio out back. It was very quiet and peaceful, so we slept great, too! The place is well-maintained and just the right size for a couple coming into town for a college football game :)

Historic Charm!
My son and I really loved our stay at this historic property! The owners are extremely helpful and caring; they even offered to assist me with a ride issue I had from the airport. They go above and beyond. The grounds are lush and decorated for the season. All the comforts of home are in the cabin. The bonus?? The scrumptous, homemade cookies left for the guests! Beautiful place with historic charm!

Can’t say enough about how cozy and clean the cottage was. The sitting area outback was an incredible place to sit and relax and enjoy the beautiful flowers. You truly felt you were way out in the country. This truly was a wonderful place to stay.

Great Cottage near the Poker Room
We had a family reunion to go to in South Michigan but wanted to play a little poker at the casino for a couple of nights at Four Winds South Bend. This cottage was a perfect location for both. The host welcomed us with some pastries and the cottage is "really cute" according to my wife;) We grilled some steaks on the grill and enjoyed the very well manicured back yard and flower gardens. We also strolled down to the Studebaker Brewing Company and it had great food. However, I am an architecture buff and like old homes of with the cottage is an historic home; but the Studebaker facility was impressive. There is also a Studebaker Museum that we did not have a chance to visit and that sounds like a great reason to come back soon. I know another review noted the small bed (and it is) so if that is an issue, may want to bring a blow up mattress with you. I highly recommend this cottage!!

The perfect place to unwind
I travel for work as an RN usually in infection prevention, as most can imagine the past few years the stress of the job has increased 10 fold. I wanted somewhere to go that offered a home like feel to Truly be able to relax and melt away the stress at the end of the day. This place is cozy, quiet and has all the amenities plus some (fresh cookies). The hosts have been incredible.

A Must Stay!
This place exceeded our expectations. It's the cutest cottage and the host and hostess we're so hospitable. We came in town for a Notre Dame game and it was very easy to find an uber. We couldn't have asked for a better experience. Thank you, thank you!

My wife and I stayed here for a week for our honeymoon. The stay was fantastic. The cottage was cozy, comfortable, and clean. It was pleasant enough to just stay home all day and close enough to the city to plan many activities and adventures. There was a power outage due to a storm, and Joe was incredibly helpful and went out of his way to make sure we were okay. At the start of our stay, we were met with a vase of fresh flowers from the garden and delicious cookies. Both Faith and Joe were lovely neighbors and we had pleasant conversations with them about the history of the cottage and the property along with the city. We would highly recommend South Bend as a vacation spot, and this cottage as the place to stay. This was the nicest lodging my partner or I have ever experienced, and we plan to return as soon as we can.

Comfortable cabin cottage, Close to shopping, Not far from Notre Dame. We had lunch in the backyard which was nice. Coffee was a huge plus. Washed some dirty clothes before going home. Plenty of towels and linens. Felt very safe. Bed kinda small so wife and I split up for the night. Not a tragedy. I will be back.

Would stay here again
Everything was as described. Perfect location for a Notre Dame game. Only suggestion would be to upgrade to a queen bed but other than that everything was great. Would stay here again for sure
