About this cottage rental
** Regular visitors to Combe Cottage will notice many improvements have been made to this ever popular house in winter 2022/3**Detached, sea front, right on Woolacombe's renowned Esplanade enjoying views over the beach and across the sea at Combesgate, what more could you want?! This quirky seaside holiday home has ample parking and takes dogs. Here are a choice of two different entrances, either straight into the hallway or into a covered area between the garage and the cottage which is great when returning from a muddy dog walk or with sandy feet after a surf or day on the beach just paces away. The covered area houses the freezer and drinks fridge and a back door leads to an outside tap and steps up to a small terrace.I love this place; it has views from almost every room and just seems to tick every box. It is decorated throughout in a contemporary way with a bright white back drop with an occasional splash of colour carefully introduced in tasteful carefully chosen furnishings. The super aubergine leather sofa suite sets the colour theme in the main living room with matching leather armchairs. The patio doors face the exceptional view across to the sea. This room has an electric flame effect stove in the fireplace, a wall mounted large flat screen Smart TV, and new coffee table. There is free Wi-Fi. Off this room is the utility room with wet room style shower, ideal for rinsing off the dogs or sandy feet. With washing machine and separate tumble dryer, a sink, work surfaces and storage, this room is a real bonus to any holiday home. The bright kitchen is fresh with white units and walls in a soft mid blue and the white gloss slab kitchen units housing full size dishwasher, two fridges, oven, hob and extractor. There is a microwave and plenty of worktop and storage. In the bay window overlooking the front terrace and the sea is a gloss white round table and 6 chairs.Downstairs there is a double bedroom with clothes storage, hanging rail and en-suite shower room. This room is at the back of the house with no sea view but a window to the rear. In the hall is a door to a cloakroom with WC, sink unit and coats hooks. From the hall stairs rise to the first floor with two bedrooms, both en-suite.The landing area has a large apex window with patio doors to a balcony and has a small additional overflow wardrobe, 2 armchairs to sit and watch for dolphins, sea birds and just gaze at the ever-changing sea and surf just over the road, magical! The master bedroom has a king size bed, and clothes rail, a new larger chest of drawers, a huge full 4 piece en-suite with a new free standing bath, shower, WC, and sink unit. Newly fitted flooring completes the changes in here. The apex roof part of the master bedroom has patio doors to another balcony overlooking the sea! The twin room is a good size with twin divan beds, hanging rail, chest of drawers and bedside units with lamps. The newly fitted en-suite has bath with shower attachment, sink with vanity unit and WC. 1 - 2 small/medium dogs are accepted at £20 per dog per holiday (please check with us re size of dogs before booking).Plenty of parking for several cars and a small garden at the front overlooking the sea with room to BBQ. The enclosed gated terrace at the front of the house is ideal if you are bringing your faithful friend or young children as the sloped driveway to the house is shared with the house next door and is not gated. Outdoor table and chairs and two loungers. A £200 security deposit is held and released after the holiday. Newly fitted electric car charging point. All in all this super seafront holiday home should bring a smile to anyone's face as it represents everything you could want from a holiday home in the UK.

A great cottage for all ages. We are four generations and a small dog and have had another amazing holiday here at Combe Cottage. The accommodation is excellent and there is parking for three cars. The views are beautiful and there are three super beaches and lovely walks right on the doorstep. It is only a short walk into Woolacombe itself.
We have stayed several times before and will be back next year. This is our favourite holiday cottage.
Note there are steps down to Combesgate beach and some dog restrictions apply.

Very comfortable cottage in a great location for a family beach holiday.
We didn't want to come home, it was all so perfect!

We’ve been holidaying in Woolacombe for many, many years and this was the first time that our family of 3 generations and the dog stayed at Combe Cottage, which is at the Combesgate end of the Esplanade. Wow, what a find; beautiful spacious accommodation, fantastic views, such a lovely, well equipped kitchen for dining or just sitting having a cuppa whilst watching the waves. A great bonus was the side porch enabling us to change our boots and wipe the dog down after a mucky walk before going into the house - great utility room too. Beds were so comfortable, all rooms having their own en suite. You’ll have to draw straws to decide who gets the master bedroom with its fabulous en suite and its own little balcony. So many places in this house to just sit and relax and enjoy the views (or try to escape for the grand kids) especially on a rainy day.
I really don’t have any negatives to say about Combe Cottage, everything we needed was there, including books, games, and a smashing wooden train set that kept the 3 year old entertained for the duration of our stay.
There is a steep slope up to the house, which could be tricky for anyone with mobility issues but somehow even my creaky old knees coped.
Combesgate beach, literally across the road, is a little paradise, accessible when the tide is out with great rock pools for the kids to explore and so much quieter than the main beach. This beach may not be suitable for those with mobility problems as quite a lot of steps down to it and climbing up again may be a little challenging. Barricane beach is also a gem, great for collecting shells and again very peaceful and sheltered from the wind. This beach is easier to reach with a sloping path.
All in all we fell in love with Combe Cottage, really lovely accommodation - as soon as we walked in it felt like ‘coming home’. We thoroughly recommend this delightful property and hope to return next year.

We loved this cottage in woolacombe. Spacious, homely with amazing views from all front windows. Enjoyed sitting at the window with a good book and a glass of wine. Comfy beds in all rooms. Perfect distance from the town.

Another great stay at this lovely cottage with its panoramic sea views & only three minutes walk onto the nearest beach. Would highly recommend.

Had a great week at Combe Cottage, had everything we needed and more. Fantastic views, suited our two generations stay perfectly.

Another great holiday at Combe Cottage. The repairs (much needed) and updating/upgrading of the property was most welcome.

Our 5th stay in this property.
The house is comfortable and clean and in an amazing location. Watch the sunsets go down over the bay.
For a spot of rock pooling venture down to Combesgate beach just across the road.
Woolacombe beach only minutes away for a safe lifeguarded surf.
Holiday Home Hunter very easy to communicate with and very helpful.
Thank you Maddie and Sarah

This is our 4th stay at Combe Cottage and we’ve already booked for next year. It is a great place to stay, just over the road to Combesgate beach and Barricane beach and a short walk to the main beach and the village. We weren’t lucky with the weather this year but nevertheless Combe Cottage was a very comfortable place for us all to stay. The cottage is well equipped and looked clean and fresh after some refurbishments were done over the winter. We booked through Holiday Home Hunter and the booking process was easy and we were provided with helpful information before our holiday began. I have no hesitation in recommending both Combe Cottage and Holiday Home Hunter.

Once again we returned to Combe Cottage. It's just too good a place not to return to. 2 fantastic beaches just yards across the road and a short walk away to all the facilities of the village. The house is well appointed and very comfortable and has fantastic views across the bay, especially at Sunset. What's not to like.

This was our 2nd summer holiday in Combe Cottage. The house was good before but absolutely gorgeous this time. Changing the bathroom to an en-suite was a brilliant idea. The new roll top bath in the main bedroom’s en suite was a real treat & we loved it. The house boasts the most perfect location with views looking out to sea. I enjoyed watching the sunset in the comfort of the chairs on the landing. Combe Cottage is clean, modern & well equipped providing all the home comforts.
I cannot fault this property & we have already booked for next year!

We had the most amazing time in this cottage. Big enough for all 6 of its and three spaces to relax.
Lots of books and games but we didn’t them as we were blessed with amazing weather.
We spend every event watching the glorious sunset.
We could have done with a few extra sun umbrellas on the patio.

We have stayed here many times, a lovely comfortable cottage, beautiful views and sunsets, we really enjoyed staying there again.

Great location with a lovely view. Woolacombe has good facilities, food from fish&chips to Michelin star. Great beaches.
4.8
Combe cottage has one of the best sea views from the Esplanade out to sea. Stayed at the cottage on several occasions and enjoy the many rural & coastal path walks from the cottage. Beaches are close by with the added bonus of good surfing to be enjoyed.
On the whole the cottage is comfortable and a great location for a relaxing holiday.

Fab time again in Woolacombe. We love staying at Combe cottage, this is our 5th time in the last 6 years. Cottage has been superb for us over that time but we were extremely disappointed this time. The downstairs toilet was out of use and there was a smell coming from there on our last day. Plug holes in sinks and showers were dirty and blocked. There was no front door Matt. We were short of bath and hand towels. There were crumbs on the kitchen worktops and in the freezer draws when we arrived. Some of the bedding has seen better days. The floors had been moped but it certainly didn’t smell like any cleaning fluids had been added to the water used for moping as it still smelt. The stair banister was dirty and sticky to touch, I guess from previous guests. Overall a substandard clean between guests IMO. I really don’t want to book anywhere else in the future as this cottage has served us well and we have made some great memories here so hopefully my comments are useful and serve to help the owner and all future guests.

Our second stay at Combe Cottage with extended family. We have a variety of requirements and this cottage meets them all. The outstanding benefit of this property is its location and views of the sea. Quiet and peaceful but close enough to the village for shopping. Opposite a beautiful beach which is perfect for swimming at low tide. The house is very spacious with a large outdoor area for relaxing and taking in the wonderful views. Holiday Home Hunter as ever are there to look after you from the initial booking to the whole stay of your holiday.

Our second stay at Combe Cottage and again it was super. We love it here. It is comfortable, close to beaches, great walks from the door and lovely views especially from the balconies. Very suitable for sandy feet and dogs with a second entrance into utility room with shower. Short walk into Woolacombe. We are four generations and two dogs and it is perfect for us. We have already booked for next year. The Robinson family.

Combe cottage is a modern, 3 bedroom house, on the Esplanade at Woolacombe, just 10 minutes walk from the centre of the village and the main beach. However it has two lovely cove beaches just across the road, which are lovely and less crowded than the main beach. Well appointed, with a small patio and garden at the front of the cottage, facing the road and the coast. All in all a fantastic location.
The cottage itself is well equipped with a smart TV and Internet, although the connection isn't very fast and sometimes drops out, but as you are on holiday, this is a minor irritation. Many good food takeaway options ery close, including a fantastic beach cafe serving Sri Lankan curries every evening, which is literally 200 yards away.

This was our third stay at Combe Cottage and we have already booked again for 2023 which shows how much we love the cottage. It has everything we want, it is so well situated, very close to Barricane and Combesgate beaches and about a ten minute walk to the village and to the main beach. We were very lucky to have wonderful weather ( the hottest I’ve ever known Woolacombe) and so we were able to ate all of our meals on the patio and we were treated to wonderful sunsets. The views from the cottage are amazing. Luckily the cottage was cool and we were glad to retreat inside during the hottest part of the day.
The cottage is very well equipped with everything we needed.
As usual we have had excellent service from Holiday Home Hunter and I have no hesitation in recommending Combe Cottage and Holiday Home Hunter.

Fabulous, the best holiday ever!
Combe Cottage is by far the best place we have ever stayed & we have been coming to Woolacombe since 1996. The house has everything you need & the views are outstanding. My favourite place was sitting up at the balcony on the landing looking out. The owner has definitely put a lot of thought into the decor as it’s tastefully decorated with simple plain walls & beautiful pictures. A lovely touch were the coasters of Woolacombe.
The house is well equipped with everything you need aswell as puzzles, games & children’s books. We absolutely want to come back next year, you simply won’t get anything better. To top it off the weather was incredible so it really was our best holiday ever.
Thankyou very much!

Lovely, comfortable house, with a fantastic view!
Combe Cottage is very comfortable and has everything you could need for a lovely holiday. The view from the house and front terrace is absolutely stunning, especially when the sun is shining! All three bedrooms were very comfortable and clean. The seating in the lounge area was good and the kitchen fully stocked, although we didn't do much cooking whilst there. The location is convenient for the beaches, walks, Mortehoe and Woolacombe and we hope to return to Combe Cottage sometime in the future.

Combe Cottage is a fabulous property in a stunning location. The presentation is first class with a very good standard of furnishings and facilities. No hesitation in recommending a visit.

We love it here
Coombe Cottage is a lovely place to stay. It is well equipped and dog friendly with plenty of space for everyone to relax and unwind. Fabulous views and coastal walks with everything on your doorstep. Great service from Holiday Homehunter as always. Thank you.

Happy family
We would definitely stay here again. Quiet location. We are mum dad son daughter in law and 14 year granddaughter. Three generations always holidays together. Sadly our daughter and husband had to camp up at damage Barton as only seem to take two or three dogs. Between us we have five. Surely someone takes us all ?

Great view, comfortable accommodation, in a quiet location near to the town. Beach 100m away. Recommended .

A real shame
It is such a shame as this property is in a prime location and could be amazing but sadly the owner is not making the most of what it has in this house.
The property is very tired and in desperate need of a lick of paint downstairs. This makes the house look uncared for and a little rundown.
The house was not cleaned to a high standard before we arrived as there was a cut finger nail on the draining board in the kitchen! There was also odd socks and dog chews under the sofa (easily accessible as high off the floor) Considering we are in still in the grip of COvID I would have expected this property to be thoroughly cleaned in between guests.
The property is in a beautiful location and could be a real gem! As it was, our holiday was ok instead of brilliant.

A great location for a beach holiday
Combe cottage is in a lovely location and is well equipped for a beach holiday. The wet room shower and area for drying wet clothes and towels was a bonus.

Wonderful Combe Cottage
This is our second stay at Combe Cottage and we have had a fantastic holiday. We were very impressed with the cleanliness and the preparation of the house and we had a very comfortable stay. Despite the fact that this has been the second year when hospitality has been affected by the coronavirus the owner has made further improvements to the house with a new fridge and dishwasher and new bed linen throughout the house, we appreciated this. There is everything you need in this house to have a very comfortable stay.
The house is in a fantastic position and looks out onto Combesgate beach, it is just a ten minute walk to the main beach and the shops.
We have also been impressed with the service from Holiday Home Hunter.
We look forward to another holiday at Combe Cottage.

Sun sea and sand at Combe Cottage
Excellent fourth stay at this superbly located cottage. Only thing missing was a parasol as it was scorching hot when we stayed. Great sunsets and location for the beaches couldn’t be better.

Perfect location, lovely house but needs attention
We have stayed at this house 5 or 6 times since it was refurbished for letting approx 6 years ago. It is our favourite house in Woolacombe due to it's location, spectacular views of sunsets, capacity, enclosed patio area, dog friendly, parking for 3 vehicles and number of bathrooms.
BUT we have observed a steady decline in the maintenance of the property and it's contents. The property description on the website needs updating as it dates from the original refurbishment. We found issues with cleanliness on our arrival, plus some items of furniture that were broken and had not been replaced: white goods in kitchen are not brilliant, the fridge is very small for the capacity of the house (so don't order a big supermarket delivery as we did!) and freezer door is rusty, which is below the standard we expected. The housekeeper did quickly replace a broken kitchen chair for us, which was good. We did email the agents with a long list of the issues we found.
We're hoping that the owner of the property reinvests some rental charges into bringing this lovely house up to the standards we expected.
Having said all this, we still had a lovely 2 week holiday.

Great four generation holiday
This was our first stay at Combe Cottage and it surpassed our expectations.
We are a family of four generations plus two dogs. We all had a fabulous week.
Great accommodation.
Great location, beaches and walks.
Great views from cottage.
We will definitely be back.

Beautiful cottage
We have been holidaying in Woolacombe as a family for over 50 years so are very familiar with most of the holiday properties in the area. This is the first time we have stayed at Coombe Cottage and we were delighted with the accommodation. We chose Coombe Cottage because of its location, and we needed a property without steps. It ticked every box for us as a family group. Well presented and furnished, very clean and well equipped. We particularly liked the front patio area with its comfortable outside furniture. Beautiful views and peaceful with no near neighbours. We will certainly return. Thank you Holiday Home Hunter for all the well informed updates regarding our visit in these trying times. A great job, first class service delivered in difficult circumstances. Lynne, Paul and Bet.

A good location for walks with dog. The property well set up with a utility area and shower to wash off all sand. Beautiful views and a comfortable well equipped property

Combe Cottage in October
Really enjoyed our say at Combe Cottage, despite the stormy weather that week. The views from the cottage are excellent, and even when indoors on a wet day, the sight of the waves crashing on the rocks of Morte Point was wonderful. The cottage is well appointed, and spacious. Would definitely recommend. Very good location for walking the coast path or the hills at the rear.

Another wonderful week at Combe cottage
This is the 6th time we have stayed at Combe cottage. we have been coming to woolacombe for 30 years and this is the best property yet! Ideal for a multi generational family holiday - location is perfect, 10 min stroll to the village and woolacombe beach. But less than 50 meters to the beautiful and (much) quieter combesgate beach.

Location
A Stunning location, fantastic views! Ample parking space if you have more than one car in your party. Very clean and comfortable.
