My family stayed at this cabin for our Christmas holiday and we had a lovely time. The location is private with amazing mountain views and boasts a quick walk to a charming creek. We were in an F-250 with 4x4 capabilities and had no difficulty making the trek up the steep inclined drive to the cabin. The only complaint for our family was the pots and pans, although were plentiful, they were in rough shape. The internet was spotty but that wasn't a huge deal for us. For a family of 6, the sleeping arrangments were comfortable and there was plenty of space where we didn't feel like we were on top of each other. This is the cabin for you if you want that remote and private vibe while being close to restaurants, museums, and outdoor activities.

When we walked in the front door, we we in awe! It was a beautiful 2 story cabin with a view that could make you cry. You can hear the creek from the porch, which is so relaxing. The path down to the creek is nice, make sure if you go down at night definitely take a flashlight, it gets dark. The hosts were very accommodating and easy to contact. The only thing to bring to attention is the drive up to the cabin, it is gravel and you will want to take a 4 wheel drive or something equivalent. We would definitely go back and for longer.

We had a wonderful time at Elk Path. The creek kept the kids mesmorized. Peter was awesome when we needed him and he answered all of our questions. We will definitely be back!

This is a wonderful accommodation. It is very secluded and tastefully furnished. However, there is very limited cell phone service and practically no internet. Four wheel drive is helpful on the road leading to the house.

Nice Place with Good Service
The property was clean and will kept. We had a few issues with the road because we didn't have 4 wheel drive but the property manager was extremely responsive and helpful in finding resolution. All in all, we have a good stay.

Great Getaway
It was a very nice remotely located property which was what we were looking for. Although it was close to downtown Waynesville, the Blue Ridge Parkway and nicely located to make a day trip to Pigeon Forge. The creek and waterfall were a huge hit with our daughter and the massive bull elk that seemed to stay around our location was excellent too.
Beautiful and recommend highly!

Great place but..
I loved the property the cabin was on. Beautiful scenery and the freshest air you'll ever breath. Unfortunately, the residence had a mice problem. We didn't notice until our last few days but, mice carry diseases so I thought it was a little nasty that we saw more than one mouse in the cabin.
Other than that, beautiful place. I hope they get rid of the mouse problem soon, I would love to visit again.

Quick Weekend in Maggie Valley
This is a great cabin for a family! Close to the Blue Ridge Parkway and away from the crowds. The trail to the creek from the cabin was huge hit with the kids. Driveway is steep but we are in a 4x4 so no problem there. Would stay here again.

A Lovely Mountain House
We had a great time staying in the cabin. The view is beautiful and the home has everything you could desire. We really enjoyed our day trips into the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Asheville, Waynesville, Dillsboro, Bryson City, and Cherokee. Our drives on the Blue Ridge Parkway were spectacular! The WiFi reception is on and off and the cell phone connections are poor. The road to the cabin is very steep and requires off road driving experience. Overall, we had a fabulous time!

Mountain get away vacation
House was very clean, sound of running stream below was relaxing. Advertised to sleep 8 but beds only for 6. Gravel road a little tricky getting up, but learned the trick on how to get up. I would definitely rent again. Enjoyed the cooler temperatures at the higher altitude.

Great Getaway!
A wonderful home, quietly tucked away in the beautiful landscape. All we could hear was the babbling creek behind the house. A very short drive to multiple excursions. We went white water rafting, hiked and visited waterfalls, all to return to a peaceful evening around the fire pit. The home was immaculate and well stocked, truly a home away from home!

Great property
If you are looking for the more relaxed / less touristy cabin / locale this one is for you. Great property beautiful views and easy hike down to the mountain stream. The property was very well cleaned. The last of the drive up the mountain is a bit tricky but we faired just fine in a 2WD suburban. In winter you would need 4wd.

Maggie Valley - Smoky Mountain Retreat
This cabin was a great relaxing getaway with close proximity to easy hikes and the Great Smoky Mountain National Park. We loved being nestled in the woods, being able to rock in comfy chairs and awake to the sound of birds chirping, and fall asleep to the creek running. Very relaxing.

Great Cabin
Loved the Cabin. We stayed there in July with our 2 daughters. It is really peaceful and you can hear the waterfall from outside and the room upstairs. It was really comfortable and the view is great. Just make sure you have a vehicle that can go on gavels because the last 100 feet is pretty steep going uphill. Our 2 wheel drive minivan was able to do it but having a 4 wheel drive would have been easier. Overall I would recommend it to anyone and would like to stay there again in the future.

Mountain getaway
The cabin was beautiful. The sound of the nearby creek was the mist abs big part for me. I sat on the porch and enjoyed the quiet and serenity.
The beds were comfortable. Kids enjoyed the foosball table a great deal as well as playing in the creek.
The fridge had a slight problem when we first arrived but owners were swift to take care of it and all was well.
Great stay!

Maggie Valley Vacation 2021
Great place to stay! The cabin was stocked with everything you could need, minus food of course. Restaurants & grocery stores were easy to find. Definitely need to have 4 wheel drive or all wheel drive to get up the last road. Beautiful cabin & area. It felt like home. We loved it!

Elk Path Cabin - Wonderful Stay!!
We loved our stay at the cabin. Beautiful views of the mountains and a beautiful porch on which to drink coffee. Loved having a fire pit and the convenient path to the creek behind the cabin. I would highly recommend this place! The drive up to the cabin is a little rough/steep but just take your time and you'll be fine.

Beautiful home in the woods
You should really have a 4x4 to get up the road prior to the house. We got stuck so my husband had to try and fix the road so we could get back down. Luckily our daughter was staying close by and picked us up with their vehicle. Other than that we loved our stay. Very peaceful with the sound of the creek from the deck! There is a beautiful walkway to the creek. Plenty of towels and dishes to use and a nice assortment of games our grandkids loved when the came to visit. The internet is very slow so be prepared not to have cell service. There is a landline to use if needed. All in all, except for the road, we loved our stay.

Amazing House - Very Remote
The house was outstanding! It has a beautiful, modern kitchen and an amazing wrap-around porch with a view of the mountains (the porch was definitely our favorite feature). The house is VERY well stocked (everything you would need in the kitchen except food, plenty of linens, literally HUNDREDS of kids DVDs, board games, puzzles, a foosball table, etc, etc, etc). It is very clean and looks recently updated. The property is heavily wooded and has a well maintained path down to the creek running behind the house - you definitely feel like you're in the middle of nowhere though it's just a 10 minute drive into town. The creek can be heard from the porch which makes it very relaxing outside. The house is up around 4300 feet altitude, so it's much cooler even than Maggie Valley itself, which is wonderful in the summer.
The ONLY downsides to this property are (1) the road leading to it (Irene Lane) is a very steep gravel road that would be hell in the winter (we have an AWD vehicle and were thankful we did) and (2) the wifi is very slow (~3 Mbps) - though depending on how "disconnected" you want to be on your vacation, this could be a "feature". It's fine for surfing the web and email, but don't expect to binge Netflix or do video conferencing with your family.
So, if you want to be somewhere beautiful and remote and have a AWD vehicle, this place would be hard to beat!

In all we had a great time.
Did not know that the trash place would be closed on Sunday. Did not see it written any where. Other then that we all enjoyed it very much. Got up one morning and there was elk in the driveway!

Great mountain getaway!
We were looking to "get away from it all" and this beautiful home in the mountains was perfect for us! We travel quite a bit, and more often than not, I get frustrated with rentals that are tired and unsatisfactory in terms of cleanliness. This rental was anything but! It was SPOTLESS. We decided to stay in for dinner a couple of evenings, and I was impressed with how well-equipped the kitchen was! Also the location was perfect for us-It's only minutes away from beautiful hiking trails in the smokies! We would stay at Elk Path again in a heartbeat!

Great house, great location, tough roads
This was a great house with a great view and access to a lot of day trips we were excited about. Unfortunately, the gravel road was impassable to one of our vehicles that only had 2WD. I can only imagine how difficult it would be to get to in inclement weather. Another note...AAA doesn't cover these roads past a certain point where they become private. We needed towing out of a ditch but weren't able to use AAA because it wasn't a publicly maintained road. Even the tow truck needed to switch to 4W in order to help my friend get his car unstuck.

Not even snow can slow us down
2 days before we were supposed to check in, it snowed 7 inches in Maggie Valley. We were not able to get to the cabin in our 2 wheel drive suv on the first day. Pete and Becky were very flexible and accommodating. After letting the snow thaw, they were able to get the cabin ready for us and we thoroughly enjoyed our time there. We will make sure we have a 4wd vehicle next time but we would have no problems renting Elk Pass again. Cabin is super cozy and well stocked. Makes a perfect home away from home.

Amazing
What a wonderful experience! Elk Path was the most peaceful, calming stay we've had! Communication was too notch and the creek...oh, the creek! We will never forget Christmas at Elk Path! Thank you so very much!

Winter Break Fun
The cabin was very nice, clean and offered plenty of room. Not much yard for playing in the snow. Beautiful creek and path right outside. Final roads to the cabin could cause for 4x4 needed depending on the weather. Having to take your trash off property is not very pleasant. Drive way is very steep with limited parking. Difficult to unpack and pack vehicles.

Great location in the mountains with easy access to Maggie Valley and Waynesville.
Really enjoyed the peacefulness of the cabin and we got to see snow. It would be nice to have firewood already there rather than having to go find some. We had a great time!

A very nice stay!
We've stayed in several VRBOs in Maggie Valley, and Elk Path is one of the nicest! We stayed here for nine days. It is definitely remote, which is nice. We saw a herd of about 20 elk in the road on our drive up to the cabin the first day, which was really quite amazing (and maybe a little scary, because they were so close to our car and the bull wasn't too happy... but it was a once in a lifetime experience)!! We saw another (possibly the same) bull elk two more times during our stay. It was so cool!
The cabin was very clean, well-stocked with kitchen items, and the necessities. We loved the notebook about the cabin and the helpful guides for things to do around Haywood County. It is a beautiful location with the creek right near the house. The path to the creek is wonderful!! We had a great time making fires and roasting marshmallows/making smores (though seating around the firepit to relax in would be nice as there is just a picnic table). Our daughter loved having her own master bedroom/bath, and says the bed was so comfortable!! She loved it! The bed upstairs is not as comfortable as it's pretty soft. That's probably more of a preference thing though.
I'd say something to consider for this property that isn't necessarily mentioned much is the drive... the last stretch is rough, as the roads are single lane, and are rutted out. While we were told we didn't need 4WD/AWD, I think it's a good thing we rented AWD. Just things renters should consider.
All in all, a wonderful and clean cabin that I would recommend!!!

Charming getaway
We had a great time at Elk Path! Three couples stayed here and the cabin couldn't have been any better. The cabin was cozy, clean and surrounded by great scenery! The owners were easy to communicate with and check in/out was a breeze! We loved sitting by the fire pit at night and making smores. The owners provided the wood (extra bonus to Elk Path). We loved sitting on the back deck in the best rocking chairs and enjoying our morning coffee. We will definitely be back to Elk Path the next time we come visit Maggie Valley.

Lovely Home
This place is great! The house was clean, well stocked and comfortable. It immediately felt like home. The kids loved the path to the creek. The location is close to everything. This will be our first choice when we make a return trip.
