Great view . Comfortable. Nice pool . But too far from town so taxis added up a lot. close to airport tho

beds were comfortable - great pool and great views ! Was good value considering nothing in bahamas is cheap

Tolles Erlebnis, Unterkunft besser als erwartet

- Der Frauenschlaafsal ist sehr weiträumig, wobei ein kleiner Aufenthaltsbereich und eine eigene Küche integriert sind; ebenso ein eigenes Badezimmer - Die Küche dort ist sehr gut ausgestattet - schöner, großer Pool - Das Badezimmer im Frauenschlaafsal ist groß und sauber, es gibt zwei Duschen und zwei Waschbecken - Die Reinigungskräfte kamen jeden Tag - Es gibt keine Rezeption, aber man wird vor der Ankunft mit allen nötigen Infos per WhatsApp versorgt - Die anderen Gäste waren super nett - wegen der vielen negativen Bewertungen hier hatte ich zunächst das Schlimmste erwartet. Ich kann mich jedoch nicht beschweren und hatte eine tolle Woche in diesem Hostel. Das Haus und die Anlage sind groß, direkt am Meer, alles ist sauber und man kann sich dort wirklich wohlfühlen! Ich denke, man hat sich die Bewertungen hier zu Herzen genommen und versucht, die Kritikpunkte zu verbessern. Es waren auch regelmäßig Handwerker da und auch nach einem Sturm wurde insbesondere der Poolbereich sofort gereinigt und von Blättern und Astwerk befreit. Alles wurde sofort wieder hergerichtet (der Sturm hatte wirklich ein Chaos hinterlassen).

- leider wurde das Wasser in der Dusche nur lauwarm - als es geregnet hat, hat es durch ein Loch in der Decke reingetropft. Es kam dann jedoch sofort jemand und hat Handtücher gebracht und ausgelegt. Am nächsten Tag wurde der Boden nochmals gereinigt. - das Hostel liegt etwas abseits vom Stadtzentrum. Wenn man den letzten Bus verpasst, muss man ein Taxi nehmen, was leider sehr teuer ist! - Leider keine Waschmaschine vorhanden

Somehow managed 2 days without bathing as the weather was cool.

Only the location is good.

Everything. There is no proper manning of the property. You came and go. Nobody cares. Because money is taken before your arrival. Bathroom, Toilet, Kitchen less said is good. Lower bed too lower.

It was a lovely rustic island oasis with friendly staff.

I liked the oasis vibe that it gave. It was historic and quiet. The staff was very friendly.

The driveway is very steep it's an actual hill hill would not recommend to elderly, also for super heavy bags the staircases are a lot to navigate for them.

Great stay

It was a nice stay with comfortable and private beds and good location with great view. A lot of useful amenities and clean space with nice staff.

The facility was a little bit run down and there was no hot/warm water. The showers were not draining well.

Beautiful views, worth every penny.

Cornelia was available and responsive. The kitchen was amazing and I loved the curtains on the beds.

I was a little concerned about security because the front door is never closed, but it turned out to be fine!

Es una gran opción para mochileros. La calidad-precio en Bahamas es totalmente imbatible. Hablo de la parte dormitorio mixto. Además el personal un 10. Repetiría con los ojos cerrados.

Hay q saber que es una habitación mixta de un hostal y no ir con otra idea.

Clean classy place near airport

Beautiful place right across the road from the water. Perfectly clean, easy checkin. Served me well for airport layover.

Not facility's fault, but be advised that roads are too narrow to be walkable. I had hoped I could walk to airport but it's too dangerous. Taxis are very expensive. Likewise if you're staying longer here, you need wheels. Nothing negative to say though about the accommodation.

Nothing.

First of all we didn't stay at the place it isn't what you expect everything they had on there website was not what they had in person it was a regular house with multiple rooms it wasn't clean it wasn't a place you can stay at and is not a resort hotel and casino like they had on the website. I ask for the refund wich I didn't get back

DON’T GO TO THIS HOSTEL!!! It was the worst hostel we ever visited!!! We couldn’t even stay there because we felt that unsafe. The sheets were very dirty and smelled very bad and there were insects on the bed. There was no safety because the door was always open and never locked (so everybody could get in and steal your stuff) It smelled disgusting in the room and i think the bathroom didn’t got cleaned since last year. And don’t let the picture fool you! It doesn’t look like this in real live. We didn’t know were to go to get help because there was absolutely no staff (very bad organization) We had to book a other hostel because we couldn’t stay there! The customer service was also very unfriendly after we contacted them to get e refund. They refuse to give me the money back and they don’t even take the problems seriously! So don’t go there!

Very good

The location was beautiful and very convenient to small local beaches and two restaurants. If you catch a Jitney, it was easy to get into downtown. Thr people were very friendly and accommodating. The dorms were cute and affordable. Jaime, the driver, was wonderful and reliable. The pool was a nice social place to gather with the other guests. People really were able to bind together and enjoy each other's company.

The check-in process was very unorganized. In fact, most of the time, I or one of the other guests were the ones who did the checkin for the other guests. I believe Cornilia may have her hands too full, as she seemed distracted and unable to be present. She was always available to contact, however. So that was good.

If I were to return to Nassau I consider this hostel is. It is no close to downtown though.

The place looks as in the pictures. The beds in the mixed dorm were spacious and comfortable. I stayed over night only to catches a connecting flight and the property manager was accommodating and helpful with my late check in and early check out. The place Is very close to the airport. The taxis should charge $25. You can easily walk it in 30 minutes, but there are no sidewalks so keep your eyes open.

The patio doors rattle when partially open so sleeping was challenging as one guest demanded they be only part open. pro tip.. Stuff a towel between the two doors :).

really nice property with a swimming pool and just in front of the beach, the room (girls dorm for 4) is really big, with a huge sofa, table & chairs and a big kitchen with all utulities, fans and AC, really big bathroom (2 sinks, 2 showers, 1 toilet), cleaning every day, and its really close to the prettiest beach and the airport. I had a reaaly nice stay in Viking Hill and would recommend it to everyone!

Very good

I liked the location on quiet west side of the island. View from room was beautiful, beach right down the hill. A few restaurants/bars and local food stands within close walk. I loved the bunks in the four room dorm. Very comfortable with outlets, a hook, and reading lamps. They felt like blanket forts when curtains were closed. Room was a comfortable temp with windows open at. Ight, air conditioner if needed. En suite bathroom has two clean and comfortable showers, generous sink and shelf space. Typical of hostels, shower water doesn't really get hot, but it was ok. The toilet is in a closed stall, kinda tight. The kitchenette has a fridge, stove and toaster oven, and electric kettle - but no microwave or oven. There are a few basic pots, pans, plates, cups, silverware. The property is beautiful (though the driveway is very steep, really ripped up, and parking is tight). Pool was nice. Gorgeous inner courtyard. Guests were quiet at night, seemed like rooms were well soundproofed. Checkin host Cornelia was very nice. Gorgeous sunsets on the beach.

Two nights the water completely went out in the whole building for about 90 minutes. As other reviewers mentioned, I found it impossible to reach staff after hours (difficult even during hours). Figuring out who to contact for help was confusing. That said, staff was responsive and considerate when we didn't get through about the water. My check in experience is in line with what others described. Confusing to set up due to contact difficulty - but it went fine after Cornelia arrived. Be aware the closest grocery is a couple miles away. That stretch of road is not safely walkable. The bus sched was unreliable. Taxi 1.5 km to or from airport they ask $35-70 USD. Ridiculous! Check in advance with Viking Hill about their transport options. Be aware the restaurant/bars at bottom of hill are very, very tourist expensive. (Like somehow I paid $90 for 3 fish tacos, corn, and 2 small plastic cup margaritas and felt like I'd actually been robbed by pirates when I got the check!) I was told the local stands just a block further. Still, my blanket fort bunk bed made it all worth it.
