It was all good. The vibe in this hostel is so friendly. People who traveled to SD for 4th of July was enjoying nicely. Facilities were good. Hostel is so chic. When you spend your break/rest in the hostel, atmosphere is so cool.
Just stayed one night. But top beds can have a curtain, too. Only bottom beds have a curtain. Shared toilets are a little bit narrow spaces. If you have pain on your legs or if you have problems for climbing up the stairs, it’s a little hard because stairs are too steep, too many and there is no elevator because it’s an old building. A little crowded and noisy at night but it’s very normal because it’s Gaslamp Square and it has bars/clubs and restaurants :)

The workers were super friendly, the place was clean and the commune areas were super comfy.

Nice, stylish hostel.Clean, quiet, cozy, clean sheets and towels, simple but tasty breakfast.Good location and close to everything.I recommend it.
Mrs. erika seemed professionally burnt out with her unnecessary and unjustified answers to questions asked that were not directed at her.In My case twice.I heard about a similar situation in the case of Mrs. Kira, but I haven't had any bad experiences personally. The rest of the staff was very nice, including the owner.Regards and I wish Mrs.erica better personal culture...

There are cheerful and energetic staff members.
I am a woman and I hate men. Even though I told the hostel in advance that I don't want to share a room with a man, please give me a women's room, a man was in my room. Not considerate enough. I often saw the staff of this hostel having fun with men and women in the living room, toilet, and shower in the middle of the night. I was told by the staff to give it five stars when I checked out. I was asked to manipulate the rating. So I gave it five stars as requested. It should be about two stars. This is a hostel with selfish staffs. Please work more seriously.
The bed creaks a lot.
Many people were sounding the alarm in the kitchen.
There are only stairs, so moving luggage is difficult.

Fab location in downtown SD in the ♥️ of the Gaslamp! Funky old Victorian brothel turned hostel and they kept much of the interior charm of the old saloon days. Be sure to pack your groceries as you have access to a full kitchen with commercial space and the breakfast bar means you shouldn’t starve ever.
The beds were comfy I just wish they weren’t college style dorm bunks. It would be fun if they were more built in to project the charm of the buildings era.

The staff was very helpful and accommodating.

The location is perfect, and breakfast is an excellent addition to the hostel stay. The room was spotless, and the staff showed genuine hospitality.
However, the restrooms, and especially the shower, were filthy. I lost any wish to go there after seeing little black worms in the shower.

As far as location, it depends on why your there? The Gaslamp District is "Party Central" and our room faced the street, so as the sun went down the(people/music/traffic)noise went up. If you are there for the party, you're likely good and it was great for people watching spot, but not if your turning in early to be a "tourist''. The breakfast was sparse but did the job to get you started and was a nice way to mingle. Kitchen was cool, well equipped with room to work and do use the dining area upstairs, it's a nice vibe.
Well, we slept in the 6-bed dorm Rm. with Bunks, and the mattress are a bit thin(for us full figured guys).
With three water closet and three shower stalls in each of the two bathrooms it can be a bit of wait at peak use(and closed while being cleaned).

near the train station.
Friendly staff.
it’s in the Gaslamp bar area. Some tenants drink too much and start to go crazy, which will disturb other tenants. But it may also be a problem of sound insulation.

Wonderful staff, funky decor, access to social activities, private rooms available.
Entry smelled like urine.

The only place in San Diego for this price, and not bad. It is a social place and there are interesting people. Lots of events.
The street is pretty noisy on weekends.

Excellent location, in a very nice and safe area that guarantees nightlife. Also, breakfast is perfect to start the day.

The reception helped me a lot to transfer to a new room when i felt uncomfortable from my previous room. thank you!
smell of the room, well the rooms are clean and nice but i think there was a specific smell that I dont like whenever I’m entering the dormitory room, it smells like the carpet accumulated a specific smell or something that resembles to a sweaty jacket or wet towel left indoors to dry but turned out smelly
