Loved the staff, the location, the hotel, the ambience, the breakfast. Would happily stay again :)
We ordered a twin room on booking.com but when we spoke to the staff, this request did not get through to the hotel and we had a double bed (with seperate duvets!)

The staff were great. The room was small, but ok.
I didn't know till I arrived , that I was going to share a bathroom and toilet with other guests.

Staff were friendly.
Booked for a river view room, but got a room overlooking the car park at the back. The floodlight for the carpark illuminated the whole room at night. Asked for twin beds as I was travelling with my daughter, but got a double bed. 3 of the plug sockets in the room didn’t work, so we had to unplug the Tv to charge our phones. There was only 1 glass in the bathroom. The carpet was sticky (we kept our shoes on after discovering this). The room hadn’t been cleaned properly, hair hanging from the shower and make up remover wipes on the floor. Definitely not worth £265 for two nights - quite insulting really. Didn’t have sweetener in the restaurant at all so my daughter had to go back to the room to get her own!

Awful
And even cup of tea tiny and awful
Tea and coffee facilities in room …
Sugar had gone off and dirty sachets that looked like they had been discarded by previous guests!
Asked for more …. They were just as bad!

it’s an old building it’s nice on appearance with parking round the back of the property. Food was nice too.
The BED. We was awake more than we were asleep. We was actually aching the next day. That’s the only reason I wouldn’t stay there again.

Location was great, the view from the room was stunning! The building is traditional and charming. The general atmosphere was pleasant and warm. Staff were helpful. Breakfast was good and promptly served.
There was a bit of a mix up with the room allocation initially, although it got resolved in the end.

Old building full of character and very atmospheric. River view which I didn't know if I'd been allocated at time of booking - a real bonus. Great central location. No music in the bar - brilliant!
Slippy bath that made showering a bit treacherous. Would've liked a rubber mat for the bath to shower more safely.
Unclear who to turn to on checking out. Worked out it was the lady who did the breakfasts. Written guidance in the room would be helpful.

Location was excellent. A lovely view across the river and in the centre of town but quiet too.
Room was cosy and on top floor out of the way.
Unlimited drinks at breakfast and a good choice of food. Tea and coffee facilities in the room.
Bathroom was extremely small.
