Great time. Clean house. Great relaxing property
8.0 / 10.0
The real beauty is down by the river, as other people have said. So peaceful but must be careful if you go in the water. The waterfall itself was not visible unless you swam up a little. Possibly in low tide you might be able to walk the rocks but we didn’t have low tide when we were there. There are other smaller waterfalls that you can walk or drive to around the block.
The house itself was clean. It is an old house with stairs that are not to code ( much steeper than should be) but the showers are nice and linens fresh. We could not get the television to work.
I felt that the property manager could have been more friendly but overall no issues. There are instructions on the refrigerator that were helpful.

My 3 kids and I absolutely loved the spot. The stream in the back of the house was unique and gorgeous, Diane was communicative and pleasant. Highly recommended

We really enjoyed our stay. Our 9 year old loved walking down to the river every morning while we finished our coffee and we loved walking our dogs up to the lake afterwards. We enjoyed sitting on the rocks along the river during the afternoon and putting our feet in the water. The location is so convenient with Stewart's nearby and the lake luzerne market up the street, you pretty much can get everything you need. I enjoyed being walking distance to waterfalls and the lake. We were also only about a 20 min drive to lake george and 45 mins drive to natural stone bridge and cave which we highly recommend in pottersville. There were other gems in the area we didn't have time to check out but just leaves us more to discover the next time we return!

Overall, we had a nice trip. We brought our dogs, and once down at the water, it was beautiful. Seeing as we had our dogs with us, the house worked, but I wouldn’t stay again for the price.
Suggestion to owners- add outside lights at doors. We had to bring the dogs out in the dark, and it was a bit sketchy.

The riverfront is the entire reason to stay here and it is amazing. The Hudson is amazing and we rented jetskis about a block away. Super fun. Not a fan of the neighbor's’ political banners and signs, pretty unwelcoming. Otherwise the host was very accommodating and friendly and it was a great stay!

On a main rd. Very noisy heavy traffic. Dilapidated houses surrounded the property.
Contacted the owner when we got there & she said no refund so we stayed. The water view is only good if you literally go down on the rocks. Then she harassed me that night while we were out to eat texting about my stay. Then showed up knocking on the door 5 minutes after we got back & told us to leave if we didn’t “Love” the place. I said it was fine because she wouldn’t refund us but “fine” wasn’t good enough. I’ve been using Vrbo for 5 years & never had an issue like this. Very very misleading & very disappointing.

The house was great and comfortable but we didn't stay in it much because the backyard with the river was gorgeous! We went down to the river for hours and then went to Lake Luzerne to kayak. Then hike at Bear Rock Slide which was an amazing place too. It has places to walk to for food. We loved this property and will be back.

The location is great. We were able to walk to many activities right from the house. We walked to the Railbikes, white water river rafting, the beach at the lake, the truck and music at the park, the store, and a park with a basketball and tennis courts. There is a great place to get breakfast you can also walk to right across from where you get the rail bikes. The market across the street has everything you need. There are also many other things to do that is within a 20 minute drive such as 3 different putt putt gold courses, and a place called the Bear Slides which is a natural water slide-my 10 year old grandson had a blast there. The property manager was great as she gave us many suggestions on activities. And let's not forget the amazing river right at the property-my dogs swam for a good 2 hours one day in the river. The first couple of days the river was really flowing and was intimidating but once we got our confidence up it was amazing. We had a fire a few nights and there was plenty of dry wood right at the property. If you want a place where there is a lot of activities this is the place for you. It is a small town so there isn't a lot of restaurants but if you want to play-stay here and you can always drive to Lake George to go out to eat. It was great to get my grandkids off the video games for a week and out doing adventures.

My family and I had a wonderful week! Check in was very easy and the host was very responsive and easy to deal with. This is truly a unique property with tons of privacy but everything you need is just a short walk or drive. We took full advantage of the river literally in our backyard and the views and sounds were awesome. Lake Luzerne was walking distance and the park adjacent to the Lake has live bands and food trucks weekly which was like a step back in time. We did drive into Lake George one day and that was an easy drive to all the activities they have to offer. However, we were totally happy just taking advantage of the river access and a highlight was when a bald eagle flew right over us on his way up river.

This rental is just as described with a backyard that leads right to the Hudson and was perfect for a small dip. Even with the intermittent thunderstorms throughout our stay, we still enjoyed the view!
The house itself was cozy and well-equipped. All items listed in the Amenities were available and ready for use (including a good amount of the named toiletries, which not many rentals bother to provide so this made our stay even easier). The lighting for the dining room table was perfect for games and the A/C kept the house a good temperature on even the hottest days so we could stay in when we wanted.
As other renters mentioned, the stairs to the upper floor are narrow and the path to the river is rocky so both would prove a challenge for any visitors with mobility issues. This didn't stop us but is certainly important to keep in mind.
We had one issue during our stay and that was the level of pet hair present. We know this rental is pet-friendly but we were still finding it after through vacuuming, sweeping, shaking, etc. The only way our stay could have been improved would have been with a more through cleaning between renters.
Finally, the host was very responsive and kind, making our trip even more worry-free.
Absolutely would recommend to others looking at the area.

The backyard and access to the river were awesome. The porches could use some general cleaning and updating. Rest of the house was clean and in good shape. Enough pots and pans and utensils in the kitchen. Luzerne Market is walkable and has everything you may need. The house is in a pretty, but very small town and a short drive to Lake George/Glen Falls/Saratoga Springs. We enjoyed our stay very much!

We typically go to the beach. This spot with its rock and sand beach, swimming, and wading spots, good fishing all in one place was fabulous. It was quite and private. The home was just as described. Clean and simple. The path to the beach area is a little tricky but worth it.

Gorgeous and comfortable property. I would go back.

The house was perfect for our needs - especially with a dog. It was very clean and rustic. We loved the quiet of Lake Luzerne after Lake George and Saratoga Springs. The backyard is beautiful with all the trees in full fall color - we enjoyed spending time on the deck and evenings by the firepit.
The kitchen was sparsely furnished - salt, pepper, sugar and one roll of paper towels. The lobster pot needs to be removed from the amenities list - the fish market where we purchased our lobster was kind enough to loan us a lobster pot and utensils for the evening. The stairs to the bedrooms have a high rise which could be challenging for anyone with mobility issues.
We had a wonderful time and would recommend this property to anyone with pets.

We had a fantastic stay! The house had all the amenities we could possibly need! Down the hill from the house was the most perfect spot on the Hudson to spend hours at a time! Would highly recommend and definitely would come back!

The star of the show here is a simply gorgeous and surprisingly private section of riverfront you can walk down to from the house. The area on the rocks by the river, complete with several beach chairs, was perfect for a morning of relaxing in the sun with the dog and ogling the lovely geological formations carved from centuries of water flow.
The house is has some great features — a good sized TV, speedy wifi, nice large bathrooms, comfortable bed, all the appliances you'd need. But of course the main event is the riverfront and the yard that leads down to it. The yard has a two lovely spots to sit and have a small fire if you like, and look out on the river from above.
We loved that we could bring our dog, and the host Diane was very accommodating, communicative and responsive. Our visit was unfortunately cut short by a massive storm that cut the power to the whole town, but Diane was helpful and made sure we were taken care of.
We fell in love with the spot by the river, and plan to come back as soon as we can!

House suited our needs. As described, does require balance due to steep stairs in house and to get down to the river. Spent a lot of time fishing while down there - small blue gill and small mouth bass mostly, check out fishing regulations for keeping size and eating guidelines! Market is very close walk and had the needed groceries (and drink). Hadley had a kids playground (3 min drive/15 min walk) and Sacandaga Outdoor Center is a 2 minute walk across the bridge.

We loved our week on the rocks!!! Perfect for the ages of my kids- 18, 13, and 9. We swam, we went tubing & white water rafting nearby, lake George fun is only 15 mins away!
So much to do and the most beautiful is the backyard! Thanks for a great week!

My family of 4, a girlfriend and my nephew, all over the age of 21 stayed for the week. The house was very clean upon arrival and there was plenty of ample space for everyone. Two fireplaces with one directly in backyard and another just down the hill a bit overlooking the river! The trek down to the river could be considered a little challenging for anyone unstable on their feet but once you get down to the river, WOW!! We all had so much fun tubing, rafting, swimming and fishing! We caught some small mouth bass and sunfish but nothing big enough to keep but it was still fun to reel them in and then carefully let them go. The view is amazing and so tranquil! There are 2 small sandy areas to enter the water. There are also some rocks with deep enough water to jump from. We tubed and rafted as far as we could against the current toward the bridge to get waterfall photos which is also just a short walk from the property. Lake George is about a 15 or so minute drive where we went for water front dining, mini golf and ice cream, breakfast and also a luncheon cruise! All was very much enjoyed! Definitely recommend this property for a relaxing and fun family getaway!!

Great property
The house had everything we needed, but we were more interested in the property...and it did not disappoint! 2 fire pits and the private riverfront was great. Diane the property manager is great to work with.. very responsive!

Our review......
The house was clean and nicely furnished. The view was incredible as it had just snowed and the melting snow made the river incredibly high. Some things I think should be noted: The ice maker in the fridge does not work. The house sleeps 6 people, and you have 6 bath towels for your stay, along with 6 pillows....no extras. The kitchen was supplied with 1 dishtowel, and a half a roll of papertowels (was supplied per contract, along with toilet paper), which was also a very small amount. Also, the 3 bedrooms are on the second floor. Please be aware, that the steps are incredibly steep. Granted, our party of 4 were all over 60! All in all, we had a great time, definately a beautiful area!!

Great Spot
The house is charming and was stocked with everything we needed. The walk down to the rocks appears challenging, but we did it while covered in snow with a 5, 7, 9 year old and our dog. The rocks are truly spectacular, with a breathtaking view and plenty to explore.

Beautiful Adirondack weekend getaway
This is a great house~ It doesn't look impressive from the street, but the inside is very clean and has everything you need including a huge TV with Netflix for when it rains. The backyard is incredible with private direct access to the river behind. The king size bed is a huge bonus, very comfy! Lake Luzerne is a very sweet little town. The little market has everything you need. There is water everywhere- the sound of running water is a constant. Very relaxing! Potash Mountain is close by and a great short but steep hike. Horseback riding was wonderful as well- shout out to the Running Brook Riding at the Tiny Farm Inn. Would also recommend going to nearby Glens Falls and having some delicious beer and food at Common Roots brewery. A wonderful long weekend, thank you Diane!

Great escape in the Adirondacks
Property manager with fantastic communication skills, recommendations and responsiveness.
Home was clean, well stocked with dishware, utensils, grilling instruments and had beautiful and, in my opinion, easy access to the water below (though might be a little difficult for anyone unsure on their feet)
Excellent connectivity in the home for anybody needing to work remotely (adding some more streaming or cable TV options might be nice for a rainy day though)
This VRBO's price per night seemed competitive for the area. Appreciated the dog friendly option, but for this price would have liked to have the associated pet fees waived.
Overall a very good experience.
We went in the late fall and appreciated the slow pace and lack of crowds. Can't speak to what the area would be like during peak season.
Location was convenient to Lake George (only 10 miles) good hiking nearby.
thanks for a great stay.

Beautiful view excellent hospitality
I can’t express how appreciative I am for the customer service Diane provided. When we had to change our reservation at the last moment she worked with us. She accommodated our dogs and when we reduced who was coming with ans our arrival times, she adjusted the price fairly. Diane is so excellent with responding. The management is stellar!!!
Beautiful scenery in the back yard, or close proximity to Lake George. If you are into hiking, mountain biking, and/or fishing like we are, this is a great jump off spot. Most of our time was spent outside Lake Luzerne. It’s a great location to explore upstate NY’s nature and the state capital, Albany and come back to a beautiful backyard.
Front yard faces the street, which can definitely produce noise. But we are from an area that has traffic noises now and then so it didn’t bother us. Makes it easy to get on your way and explore! Be aware of random sirens that sound like evacuation alarms. If you are familiar with tornado or chemical plant alarms … this will be a bit unsettling. Simply because we are not use to them used as local calls for help. Local papers confirm that they are trying to change their alert systems to a more modern approach. Don’t let it get in your way or distract you from the natural beauty of the area. You should just know this in advance. Per the hostess, they are trying to get volunteers for local emergencies and it will go off until they have received adequate help. Per the hostess, there is no A/C connection in fall-spring and the house can be the perfect temp naturally. Breeze coming through was so nice! The backyard is a jewel!!
I wish I could share the pictures of our dog going crazy in the water and us taking light hikes on trails filled with beautiful colors … breath taking. Enjoyed the natural scenery.

Good Location Older Home
The house has been updated but does not have central air. The property itself was in a nice little town and within 20 min of Lake George and other major attractions. The town has enough amenities to get by and has some really nice little parks. The description says that you can swim in the river behind the property. This IS NOT the case, please do not swim here. We found out that it is a very dangerous section of the river that has claimed the lives of several people in the past including one while we were there. It is an absolute must to watch young children closely if they are playing on the rocks. However, it does offer a beautiful view and good fishing as well.

Great riverfront house
Great time on the river. Loved that you can whitewater right up to the property, if experienced. Home is older farmhouse close to the street, front rooms a bit noisy but not a problem. Floors, doors and stairs are full of character but that's the charm of an old house. Wonderful property manager, easy to communicate and quick to respond. Great home for outdoor adventures.

Do it
For starters, the house couldn’t have been any cleaner. Spotless. Linens and towels were bagged and waiting. From the outside, you’d drive right past this property and think nothing of it. Well, you’d be missing out. The backyard alone is worth the price of entry. It’s a bit of a walk to get down by the water, but when you do, wow! What a view. Amazing. We drove in and out of Lake George. It’s less than 20 minutes. The ice cream shop up the street was great too. Book it. You’ll love it.
