MID-CENTURY HANSEL & GRETEL
We've poured a lot of love into this cabin during an entire year of remodeling. In the kitchen, we hand-crafted entirely new cabinets, countertops, and open-shelving from raw sheets of sugar pine. Each piece was routed and hand-carved like they probably did a hundred years ago.
We wanted to give the cabin a timeless, fairytale feel, but with a bit of whimsy. I think we got that in the kitchen, and in the bathrooms, the whimsy part looks like it went to a fancy Vegas hotel and came back. We love it and hope you do, too!
And with our National Forest Vehicle Adventure Pass, you can park/visit any one of the many US Forest Service trails and recreation areas. There are a wide variety to choose from, ranging from easy, stroller friendly walks with animal footprint trails for kids, to more advanced hikes to rock formations and hot springs!
NOTE:
-There is no A/C in the home.
**Extra fans are provided.
*40 steps to the front door*
-No BBQ/grilling on premises.
**Extreme Fire Danger**

Q: IS THE PROPERTY ISOLATED?
A: The Property is located in a mountain community and is surrounded by neighboring cabins. The community itself is surrounded by forest.

A: PLEASE COME ADEQUATELY PREPARED!!! Be sure to check the local forecast for weather conditions. In the fall & winter months expect fog, rain, sleet and snow. Roads can be very icy, and the owners cannot be responsible for weather or driving conditions.
Q: DO I NEED TIRE CHAINS ON MY VEHICLE?
A: During the SNOW season it is wise to carry snow chains. CHP requires possession of chains/cables when driving on mountain roads in icy conditions. Chains can be purchased at the base of the mountain near Highland Avenue & Hwy 330 at the Super Walmart. *Be sure to get the right size for your tires.
Q: WILL I HAVE TO SHOVEL SNOW?

** BE SURE TO COME ADEQUATELY PREPARED**
In snowy conditions, CHAINS MAY BE REQUIRED for access up the mountain and for driving on mountain roads. Be sure to check weather and road conditions by contacting CalTrans, the National Weather Service, etc.

* Snow shovels are located on the cabin deck -- shoe/boot chains are highly recommended when conditions are snowy and icy.
**MAXIMUM OCCUPANCY - Please abide by the maximum occupancy number for the home at all times.
Q: CAN I INVITE MORE PEOPLE THAN THE MAXIMUM ALLOWED LISTED?
A: Maximum occupancy does not only refer to the number a home can sleep, this is also the number of people allowed in the home at any given time. It is determined by the licensing authority based on the number of exits in the home and fire safety codes.
**San Bernardino County has codes that are strictly enforced. Be sure to abide by the maximum occupancy number for the home at ALL times.

My children absolutely loved this house. My favorite part was the bedroom with 2 sets of bunk beds. The hosts could not have been nicer to work with. I would caution any perspective renters that there are 40 steps leading from the parking spot to the front door. It is not for the faint of heart or lungs or anything else.

Lovely and cozy cabin
Our family went up for a weekend getaway and some fun in the snow. For starters the cabin is out of a fairytale, so cozy! It also has plenty of space for everyone to be comfortable and is close enough to the village to be convenient but far enough away to avoid the hustle and bustle.
Dave and Patricia were amazing and had all the insider info on where to go and what to see for everyone. Couldn't have had a better experience, and we all can't wait to come back!

Adorable and surprisingly large !
This place was, aside from beautiful, cute, rustic and cozy, huge. I thought it was a two bedroom but it was surprisingly a 3, and the patio was great too

cozy, and well located
Very nice-only downside is long, slightly steep staircases that would challenge older adults. No dishwasher. Kitchen adequately stocked.

Weekend Getaway
My family and I had a really great weekend at the Hansel and Gretel cabin highly recommend to book if you are wanting to go to Lake Arrowhead or any of the surrounding areas. Very cozy! Host was very responsive and hospitable!

Great Cabin for families!
My family of 8 was very comfortable in this cabin. There were two sets of bunk beds, which worked out great so my teenagers didn't need to share a bed. Lots of properties that "sleep 8" only have double or queen beds, which is not great if kids don't want to share beds.

Hidden Gem - Just a few minutes away from the Village
My husband and I along with our 4 and 6 year old had a great time for 3 nights and 4 days. My first concern before arrival (due to COVID) was cleanliness. However, I would like to hire this cleaning crew for my own home because this house was impeccably clean! Next, there isn't a great picture of the outside but it's a perfectly classic 2 story green colored cabin on an upward slope (yes there are many stairs - all to be expected) surrounded by lots of pines. There's even a front deck with 4 chairs looking out to a nice relaxing tree and sky view. There is no front neighbor as they're on the downward slope and although there are two houses on the sides, we didn't see neighbors, it was very quiet and nicely spaced out for privacy. The backyard has some chairs and enough space for the kids to just get their energy out.
Another thing the pics don't show are the window views and upon arrival I opened all the curtains and enjoyed the tree views. Nothing to worry about there.
Lastly, I worried the fancy bathroom pics meant this was a fancy place, when really, we were looking for a rustic wooden cabin feel, but let me tell you, you didn't know you needed a beautiful crystal chandelier in your restroom just to make you feel great on your vacation, until you're there enjoying it! The rest of the cabin is perfectly woodsy and charming. High quality everything, but not too fancy to worry that your kids will do anything to break something. You can tell the owners are experienced cabin owners who put a lot of thought into their homes and the long-lasting pieces in it.
For this particular cabin, they're accurate in saying only 8 people would fit comfortably in it. If you need something larger, they own other properties and you can inquire about those. Thanks Patricia and David for being wonderful hosts!

LOVED EVERY BIT OF IT
The property was super cute, just perfect. My house was awesome in communicating as well. A big snow fell and i was so worried and my host kept me well informed. As we drove up to property, people's driveways were snowed in, which had me worried how we would park and our host had their people shovel the driveway for us beforehand so I was ever so grateful. I will definitely come back again.

Cozy and Quaint
My family and I really enjoyed our stay in this cozy cabin. The owners were very friendly and welcoming. They promptly responded to messages and provided lots of information regarding the area and suggested great sites and restaurants for us to visit during our stay. The cabin was was clean, nicely decorated and well kept. Plush towels, soft blankets and quality dishes and appliances made our stay even nicer. It was plain to see that the owners take pride in their property and want the greatest experience for their guests.

Perfect snow getaway!
We had a wonderful stay that our whole family enjoyed. The owners were very helpful and gave very clear directions and helpful tips. They even updated us about the snowfall knowing we were crossing our fingers for snow! The home was welcoming and super comfy. We had plenty of space to play in the snow right out the back door. We built a snow family and an awesome sledding hill. Thank you for the effortless experience and unforgettable memories!

Peacefulness and bliss
We loved our stay at the cabin. It was wonderful. The kids loved the bunked beds and reading books. It was a nice touch. My daughter also had a bedroom all to herself. The WiFi speed and access was easy and fast. It was closed to all the attractions and having keyless entry also made it worry free. The host was great and attentive.
