About this cottage rental

This 1940's home in downtown Mentone has been recently remodeled. It is within walking distance to the local shops and restaurants in downtown Mentone. It is only a few miles to DeSoto Falls and DeSoto State Park. This property is Non-Smoking and Pet-Free. Cook an entire meal with a fully equipped kitchen or dine in one of the locally-owned restaurants. The tile shower is equipped with a rain shower head and handheld sprayer. The Master Bedroom has a King Size bed along with a sitting area. The 2nd bedroom has a queen bed. The living room has a pullout couch to accommodate additional sleeping. Enjoy your coffee or tea while sitting on the front porch swing. Enjoy the night gathered around the fire pit. Finish your day off with a relaxing soak in the hot tub (by the way, the hot tub is emptied and cleaned and filled with fresh water after each guest). Enjoy hiking, sightseeing, and exploring Historic Mentone, DeSoto State Park, DeSoto Falls, and Little River Canyon. Take in a round of golf at Cloudmont Ski & Golf Resort or go horseback riding through the trails in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains. This area has so much to offer. It is truly a hidden gem. All that is missing is you!!

WE LOVE HOME BUT REALIZED IT WOULD BE HARD TO JUST REST AND RELAX AT HOME FOR THE WEEKEND. WE WERE IN SEARCH OF SOMETHHLE TO MAKE US FEEL AT HOME AND WE DEFINITELY FOUND IT HERE! WE LIVE IN A 1950’s WHITE COTTAGE WITH A GALVANIZED ROOF, FRONT PORCH, HARDWOOD FLOORS, ORIGINAL DOORS, WHITE CABINETS AND BLACK LEATHERED GRANITE COUNTERTOPS. WHEN WE SAW THE PICTURES OF YOUR BEAUTIFUL HOUSE, WE KNEW WE WANTED TO STAY HERE.. WE ARE SO GLAD WE DID! It’s as if Southern Living magazine or Joanna Gaines decorated it, no detail was forgotten. This is an adorable cottage in Mentone for anyone who appreciates attention to detail and authentic cottage style. The owner was quick to answer any questions. It is just down the road from the best restaurant in Mentone, Elevation. We enjoyed our stay.

We love this house and have stayed here several times. Accommodations are lovely and it’s convenient to many of the things we enjoy. My kids love that there is a sidewalk all the way to Mentone Market. Highly recommend!

We absolutely loved our stay at this little cottage. It was very peaceful and within walking distance of downtown mentone. It was very cozy and felt like home. The owners reached out the day before our checkout and let us know there was another night available if we were interested and they also stayed in touch which was nice. I highly recommend this place if you are looking to get away from the hustle and bustle and unwind. Will definitely be staying here again!

We had a wonderful stay here. The cabin is very clean, super comfortable and beautifully decorated. The kitchen is well-equipped, the shower is wonderful and the beds were very nice. Although the cabin is on Hwy 117, the road noise was not bothersome. The hot tub was a an added bonus after a long day of hiking; there are plenty of trails nearby. The Mentone Market is just down the street and has a great selection of food and gifts. We look forward to staying here again!

We can not say enough good things about our stay with Nathan at the Cottage. We were looking for a quiet retreat away from the kids for a couple of days to celebrate our anniversary. We could not have picked a better option. The location was great, very close to the Mentone Market, we were able to walk to get food. But the rental had EVERYTHING we needed. The kitchen was fully stocked and well thought out. The bedrooms had good use of the space and the bed was very comfortable. Loved the hot tub and outside area. The owner was very attentive and excellent to work with. We plan to return for our next respite.

This was my first visit to Mentone Al. We enjoyed our stay- this cute little cottage was comfortable and nicely equipped with amenities. The owner provided all necessary information. This house was located conveniently to down town and was walkable to stores and restaurants. The beds were very comfortable but the road is busy and the traffic noise for a light sleeper can be a little disturbing.

This was our second stay at this wonderful home right outside of downtown Mentone! We love this house for its cleanliness, beautiful decor, full kitchen and amenities. The house is close to many hiking spots. We enjoyed hiking all day and then coming back to the house to make dinner and relax. We hope to return next year!

We had an amazing stay at this property! It’s SUPER clean and the decor is GORGEOUS!! Everything was comfy! Hot tub perfect! Sweet quaint town with lots of sidewalks for walking around and bike trails nearby. We will definitely be back!!

My wife and I chose this cottage because it checked all our boxes inside and out. First impressions were pictures didn’t do this house any justice. It was so much more beautiful seeing it in person. It’s exactly what we needed to make our weekend getaway celebration memorable. The Host kept in constant contact with us during our stay, which has never happened to us in the past, after that I knew our selection was spot on. We will forever choose this cottage in our future vacations to Mentone.

My lady and I very much enjoyed our stay here during thanksgiving weekend. Wanted a small town feel and a home that felt like we can experience a home like the permanent residences do. Very satisfying. This home is cozy, clean, and pretty quiet for being on the main road. Local to stores and places to eat. We would stay here again in the spring to get some kayaking in.

Wonderful weekend getaway. Host was very responsive and offered to come right over to reset wifi, which we were able to do and save him the trip. Bed and linens were excellent. Had a great time in Mentone and hiking in DeSoto. Recommend Elevation Bistro for dinner and Mentone Market pizza. We did take out and ate at the house with a salad and bottle of wine. So relaxing.

The house is perfect, the hot tub was great. Everything is in just a short way for shopping and sightseeing. Kitchen and bathroom fully stocked with pots and pans to cook with. The bed was a little uncomfortable. The traffic is pretty close to the house so you get road noise but I’m not used to it so don’t mind me. Overall very great relaxing cottage

This house is a perfect Mentone getaway! My husband and I loved everything about this home-the hot tub on a screened porch with privacy drapes and a back deck, comfy furniture, bed and linens, a well-equipped kitchen and super nice bathroom. The front porch swing is awesome too. This house has been beautifully restored and is spotless clean. It is charming, cozy and convenient to the Elevation Bistro, Wildflower Cafe and Mentone Market. The owners have provided everything needed for a relaxing and enjoyable stay. We would highly recommend it to anyone seeking a peaceful and idyllic visit to Mentone

The cottage was amazing, so comfortable. The king size bed is the most amazing bed I've ever slept on. The kitchen was so well stocked, the bathroom had so many nice towels and make up wipes and a high-powered hair dryer (things important to a female). We had the best meal ever at the Wildflower Cafe, must make reservations though and you can bring in your own wine/beer. Another plus. The pizza to go from Mentone Market was excellent, very cheap and fresh, they sell different drinks to have while you wait. The cottage so clean and we would stay again, next time I'm bringing my bike.

The house was clean and well laid out. The owner did a great job with the remodel. The hot tub was nice in that it was in a screened in porch. Very close to The Wildflower Café and The Hatter Café. Plenty of towels, soap and dishwashing supplies were provided. I would definitely stay her again.

We stayed here before picking our son up from nearby camp. The house was perfect and the location can’t be beat as you can walk to Mentone Market, Wildflower Cafe and Elevation Bistro. It’s a short drive to Desoto Falls and Brow Park. The house is well stocked and decorated to perfection. The bed, linens and pillows were super comfy and my son loved the hot tub on the porch. I enjoyed having coffee on the front porch swing. We will be back! The host was great.

We had a great stay in this cottage! There are numerous restaurants and stores nearby and a waterfall at DeSoto state park. Everything was clean and very well taken care of. Privacy curtains throughout. Restaurant hours are a little different, so plan accordingly. We would stay again if we were in the area. Elevation Bistro, Mentone Market, and Nena’s general store were greatly appreciated.

The house and property were great! Location convenient. The only thing I would've changed would be road frontage. It is off of the main road. Pros: easy to find and accessable con: road noise if you are looking for a "cabin in the woods" feel. It was still very private and we had a restful stay.
