About this house rental

The Lazy Possum Cottage is a modern fishing cabin on the north side of Possum Kingdom Lake. This newly remodeled waterfront property offers a gentle slope to the water perfect for swimming and wading. It is usually deep enough to moor a boat or jet skis right at the shore although if the water level fluctuates you might have to tie it up a little further out or use our boat slip at the marina less than a quarter of a mile down the road. Current boat registration and proof of insurance is required to use the boat slip. This is also the closest boat ramp.

The house has 2 bedrooms, one with a king size bed and the other with a queen. It will sleep 6 if the queen sized sofa bed is used. There is also room for floor mattresses if prior arrangements are made. It also has 2 full baths, one with a shower and deep tub combo, the master offers a walk in shower next to a jacuzzi tub. A laundry room with a full size washer and dryer is off the first bathroom. The large open kitchen with its granite countertops and farmhouse sink has new appliances including an oven, refrigerator, microwave, and dishwasher as well as small appliances such as coffee maker, blender, and toaster oven. Included are dishes, silverware, cups, barware, pots and pans, tea kettle, hand mixer, knives and baking dishes. A complementary starter array of coffee, tea, and hot chocolate is provided. The large living room doubles as a dining room that seats 6. There are 2 televisions both equipped with the ability to sign in to your favorite streaming service. There is surround sound in the living room and you can connect to the system via Bluetooth to stream music inside and on the porch. WiFi is provided. There is a gas fireplace that is available for use in the colder months.

On the lake side of the house is a screened in patio complete with a gas grill. Grill utensils are available. There is a built in eating bar facing the lake so you can enjoy the view. There is plenty of yard for the kids to enjoy and an outdoor shower to rinse off with easy access to the bathroom through the side door. We offer a huge water mat for your use for $75 for the duration of your stay. Please let us know if you would like to rent the mat so we can put it in your reservation!

This location is right down the street from several restaurants, bait shops, gas stations, a small grocery store with an awesome meat counter, and a liquor store. Nearby are lots of trails for hiking and biking. Boat and jet ski rentals are available near-by and if you are looking for fishing services, let me know and I will get you in touch with an awesome local guide.

Absolutely the best ! We loved everything about it . Clean , comfortable , roomy, they thought of everything ! Lots of lake area to play in with the kids shallow sandy not good for beaching a boat , but they have a slip so again perfect ! This is now our favorite place .

This property is all it says it is and more. We had a wonderful time. The cabin is gorgeous and very up to date. It is right on the water. If you have a boat they have a boat slip you can use. Also you can just pull your boat right up to the house. Courtney was fantastic answered all questions in a very quick manner. All in all a wonderful time and a place to stay.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The cottage is well appointed and beautiful. Great attention to details including a great map of the lake and information about the area. The cottage had everything we needed, and we loved the location, so close to the hike and bike trails. Perfect for a family get-away.

Perfect for our summer vacation. Lake was about 95% full so there was plenty of sand for the kids to play in. Water depth was a gradual, gentle slope. For a 6ft individual had to go out quite far to get chest deep. Again, perfect for me and my family. The house appears to have been remodeled recently and was beautiful and well-kept. Everything was not as described- it was more! We really enjoyed the enclosed patio with a great lake view. We met one of the neighbors who was quite pleasant. Others in the area were friendly as well. It seemed to be a quiet area, no unreasonable or excessive noise. Courtney was excellent in her communications with us. She provided so much more than was required. The small details, such as having snacks and everything necessary for coffee were above and beyond. Same goes for the beach toys for the kids and tubes for adults. Truly a great property and host, as well as location! If we go back to PK next year we will stay here. Well done Courtney!

Cottage is very well equipped from the kitchen clear up to the patio and fire pit. We had a great time. We are looking forward to renting this place again. The owner was very nice. She was also very resourceful for recommendation places to eat. We highly recommend this location.

We enjoyed our stay. Great location on the water! Lots of restaurants within 10 min. Bring starter fluid if you want a fire on the beach. We did not care much for the memory foam mattress, but we are spoiled with our sleep number bed at home. The screened in porch and updated furnishings were nice.

We loved this little house! The property is beautiful and so was the view. The lake was low but there was still a nice sandy beach going out to it and it was still plenty shallow enough to play in. Overall we had a really nice experience and would love to stay again in the future!

Our first time here and we're already wanting to come back! The owner is incredibly friendly and helpful. We enjoyed talking with Courtney so much! If you're looking for a peaceful and beautiful waterfront location - this is it! Every morning and early evening we would see deer in the front yard, which was a treat. The water is pretty and we were easily able to walk down to the shore to get a closer look. The bed in the master bedroom (the only one we used) is one of THE most comfortable we have ever experienced in a rental property. Much appreciated. We enjoyed relaxing on the porch and watching the sunsets. Many thanks to Courtney for being such a great host!

We had such a wonderful relaxing weekend at this home. The host is amazing and very attentive. House is stocked with anything you need to cook. As for me, I use paper plates and plastic forks and spoons, so was thankful that I brought the disposable stuff. House is beautiful, clean and easy to feel at home. Thank you Courtney!

Our family just enjoyed an amazing weekend at the Lazy Possum Cottage! The lake house is beautifully decorated and the owner has thought of and provided everything you might need to have a stress free weekend. Quiet area with fabulous sunsets and ice cold AC! The house is close to watercraft rentals, Trading Post grocery store and several places to eat. We hope to make this a regular trip for our family.
