Beautiful house, perfect breakfast, nice tiny house; very clean!
highway next to the property, although no hinder once inside the house.

One of a kind Airbnb experience. Not only are you minutes away from the beautiful town of Coimbra, but you get to experience a historical home in all of its glory. Vitor and Helena are the absolute best hosts welcoming you into their home and garden with open arms, fresh squeezed lemonade, and tasty local treats. Their hospitality and warmth were truly one of the highlights of our entire trip. The guest house we stayed in was perfect and had everything that we needed. The breakfast was homemade, tasty and made with love. We highly recommend staying here for a true Portuguese experience. We hope to come back in the future.
absolutely nothing.
the road noise mentioned in other reviews was barely noticeable. with the earplugs they provided it was non existent.

This was a spectacular property with amazing hosts.
Sadly, a major highway was put through very close to the villa and farm. Road noise is a distraction though not an overwhelming problem.

It is an old farm house with a great deal of character. The owner and his wife tried very hard to make things comfortable for us. The property was clean and comfortable.
We understand that guests should not and must not smoke in the accommodation (I am a non smoker) but my wife was asked not to smoke in the grounds of the property. Also we were asked to ware over shoes in the property (like the ones worn by painters and decorators) which made us feel less than welcome. The property was very close to an elevated dual carriageway/flyover which meant that sitting in the beautiful garden was not as pleasant as it might have been. We had booked and paid for 3 nights but left after the first night. It was a bit like staying in Fawlty Towers.

Elena and Victor were amazing hosts. This is a villa built in the 1500s, but the bathroom was very modern and clean (unexpected). The property is beautiful, well-manicured lawn, and large pool (too chilly in late september to use). Elena's breakfasts were so over the top impressive. These are the kindest people you will ever meet.
Everything was great!

Gorgeous 16thc estate with chapel, fountain, pool and orchard of fruit. Amazing hosts that greeted us daily, lovely breakfast on the terrace…Helena‘s attention to detail is exceptional! Vitor is super knowledgeable about history and places to visit. Love our visit so much 💕. We would return!
There is nothing we didn’t like

very, very nice people-
close to main road- but didn’t disturb us.
There was very little to complain about.

An old Manor House that is charming and bursting with character. The grounds are amazing and well cared for. The pool was refreshing at this time of year and great to have a good swim. The room was comfortable and the bathroom was modern with everything you need. The hosts looked after us so well. Lots of sweet treats, fruit and ensuring we had what we needed! The breakfast was fantastic… enough to set you up for a day exploring Coimbra.
4km from Coimbra which suited us fine but overall a charming B&B with excellent hosts! A lovely place to relax but also a great base to explore Coimbra.

We had an unforgettable time at Quinta do Regalo. Helena and Vitor are wonderful hosts that make you feel just like home! The breakfast is exceptional, the location is superb and the rooms are gorgeous! We are already looking forward to our next stay!
Nothing, it was perfect!

We've been travelling for a while now, and we can honestly say that we've never been so well looked after as we did in Quinta do Regalo. Helena and Vitor are super hosts, very special people, the house is amazing, we enjoyed the pool every afternoon, breakfast is amazing, Helena is a great cook and the attention to details is remarcable. We will definitely come back as we already miss them!

The property is a farm house away from the city. The owner, a husband and wife greeted us upon arrival, took us in the house - it was built in the late 16th century, lots of antique furniture. there are vineyards, a small orchid with many fruit trees, a vegetable garden and lots of flowers in the farm; dogs, cats and 1 goat. Old country roses and tulips were blooming when we arrived; and it was still too cold to enjoy the gorgeous salt water swimming pool. They greeted us every time we went in and out of the property. Embroidered bed linen was ironed; towels perfumed. After the first night stay, our bed was quickly remade with 2 chocolate on the pillows; towels were replaced with new ones. all napkins were embroidered and ironed to perfection. Breakfast was at the family table full of crystals to display and use, the owner cooked fluffy scrambled eggs, with pretty yogurt bowl, juices and pastries, coffee and tea. My husband normally didn't eat sweets or pastry at all but he had so much of everything as everything was so pretty and we felt special. The farm was 15-20 mins drive to the University, we had a car so it wasn't an issue; parking in town was very easy. We went with owner's recommendation for restaurants for both nights, they even called and made a reservation for us; both were absolutely amazing. The hospitality is outstanding, we really appreciate everything!
The garden suite is very close to the highway; we imagine it might be quieter staying in the main house.

The whole house has such a great atmosphere, like travelling back in time but with all the modern conforts. Very good beds, excellent modern bathroom, and use of the sitting room by the fire if you want.
The breakfast was just fantastic. The hosts go out of their way to make you feel welcome and well cared for. They even served us breakfast at 6.30 on our last day to accommodate our early departure.
We very much enjoyed the pool too - even in early November !!
Of course it is such a pity that the road is so close. But the rooms are wonderfully quiet and the silver lining is that access is really easy.

It is an amazing and beautiful house, surrounded by a farm, a garden with a big pool and its own little chapel. The hosts were very welcoming and friendly. The breakfast was made with love and the best we had during our holidays - it was just a pity that we couldn’t eat more!
Thanks a lot to the great hosts - we absolutely enjoyed our stay!
Nothing.

It was nice to have a little cottage to ourselves, and the host and hostess had left a little of everything for drinking and snacking. The breakfast was magnificent - by far the best we’ve had on our trip. The quinta and grounds were lovely. They even have a chapel on the grounds that dates back to the 17th century.
The mattress was a little too hard; and the location is next to a busy street, so the traffic noise made it difficult to sleep.

This is a magnificent house set in beautiful grounds with welcoming and generous hosts. Lovely touches such as home-made lemonade and cakes on arrival and fresh fruit in the room. The breakfast was excellent with home-made and local produce. The well-sized salt-water swimming pool provides a lovely spot to relax after visiting Coimbra.
We stayed in the delightful and well-appointed cottage. The bed was fine for us but might be a bit small for a large couple! It is closer to the road than the beautiful main house.

The kindest host and hostess, excellent breakfast, lovely pool, very clean room, amazing house and beautiful garden with lots of fresh fruit. We absolutely enjoyed our stay from the minute we arrived until the very last moment. Thank you so much!

Upon reaching Quinta do Regalo in Coimbra, you experience the exciting sensation of traveling back in time. The stony gate opens on a charming winding path, flanked by an abundance of flowers and trees that immediately make you feel welcome and at peace.
There was a great attention to the latest anti-Covid measures: everyone was wearing masks, there was sanitizing gel in every corner and we were also provided with shoe covers to use inside. Needless to say, everything was spotlessly clean.
Our room was a little jewel and we really felt as if we were stepping back into the 16th century. Two windows overlooked the lawn and small gifts, including the delicious cookies and cakes, water and locally grown fruit, had been left for us on the table. The bathroom was modern, with a wide, comfortable shower and a huge double sink. Local ceramic and flowers, as well as a variety of luxurious towels and bathrobes, awaited us.
Breakfast was an unforgettable experience too. We were given the choice of eating inside at the huge dining table, surrounded by antique furniture and ceramic, or outside under the porch, overlooking the countryside and Coimbra. We opted to sit outside and were welcomed the following morning by a veritable buffet.
The property is in the countryside and is very quiet, but it is actually a few minutes away from the city of Coimbra, so you have the best of two worlds: you are surrounded by relaxing greenery, but in less than fifteen minutes you can reach museums, restaurants and shops.
Coimbra is a beautiful city that has a lot to offer and Quinta do Regalo is an ideal place to stay: you will be in touch with nature, pampered by two very attentive and kind hosts, and, at the same time, be near all the places you want to see.

The hosts at this location are beyond all expectation! They worked so hard to make sure we had a great time, were very friendly and had a beautiful breakfast spread for us each morning. Sitting around the pool was the perfect end to our Portuguese getaway.

Such a beautiful old treasure, so sympathetically renovated to a high standard.
Very comfortable beds, beautiful monogrammed linen, Portuguese style and hospitality at its best.
Breakfast was generous, with many choices, including home made touches.
We would highly recommend this unique experience.
